When Bianca got a call from Pa Frey, she knew it had to do with Ethan.
Of course, she had been following news about him. Their marriage had ended badly but years after, she still found herself longing for him again.
“Only you can stop him from making a mess,” Pa Frey told her, his voice laced with desperation.
As a patriarch of the Frey's family, he wouldn't want to see his legacy go down in crumbles just because of a girl.
And not just any girl. A hybrid. A nobody.
Bianca's lips curled into a smile. This time, there was a higher chance of getting Ethan. In the past, she had had no help. No one from the Frey's family gave her a handout on how to get Ethan back.
But this call?
It meant everything.
It meant her prayers to the moon goddess had finally been answered.
And now, all she had to do was act. Pa Frey's backing would be the golden ticket she needed to Ethan's heart again.
And that hybrid?
She was as nobody as they came. And she couldn't stand a chance of stealing Ethan's attention when she had arrived. She was pretty, yeah
But she knew Ethan too well to know that his heart raced for features that were beyond a pretty face.
That would be her advantage.
She grabbed a red lipstick as soon as her call with Pa Frey ended. As she applied it, staring at her reflection, the last words of Pa Frey echoed through the small room she had lived for years.
“You have to promise me,” he said. “You have to do everything to bring him back to his senses. Others, he'll be stripped off from being Alpha.”
Claiming Ethan was going to be more than helping silly old Pa Frey, it would be her chance to luxury again. Luxury and power. She had missed being important. There was a time when the people listened when she spoke.
But who listened to a woman in a small apartment? She was no better than a hybrid.
Yet, things were about to change.
One final glance and she turned away from the mirror, ready to make Ethan hers again.
Pa Frey had promised to send a ride and it appeared before she stepped out of the house. That was the power of the Frey's family.
A black Bentley idled in front of her house, a sight she hadn't seen in this neighborhood where she was forced to live in after her separation with Ethan.
Now, she sauntered towards the vehicle, like she owned it. Because she did.
She placed her hand over the roof of the car and leaned to catch a glimpse of the driver.
He was different and she was not surprised. The Frey's changed their workers like they changed their lovers.
A slide in, and she was back to paradise. She settled comfortably in the plush leather chair and helped herself to a bottle of Merlot. It was enough to soothe her fraying nerves and prepare her for her encounter with Ethan.
Because that encounter was going to the fate’s sealing of their union again.
As she emptied the bottle, her hand brushed the side of her neck, remembering the night Ethan had claimed her. It was an indelible memory and even the thought of it made her want him more.
She tilted her head to the chair rest, eyes shut, mouth parted, and imagined that night. And every other night that followed.
She had been a fool to leave Ethan.
When the vehicle was approaching Ethan's house, she grabbed her phone, ditching her dreams for reality, and searched for his number.
Even after everything, she still had his number.
But she wasn't sure he did. If he did, he wouldn't pick her calls.
The phone rang, and for a while, all she heard was the ring which was becoming synchronous to the beating of her heart. Then his voice filled her ear like a gentle breeze.
Of course. He had long deleted her number.
But the moment she spoke, he knew it was her.
“Bianca?”
She smiled. The Bentley had skidded to a stop now and she was gazing through the window at his apartment, hoping he was in.
“You still remember my voice, honey. I'm thrilled.”
There was a stretched silence from him, as though he was trying to figure out if he was hallucinating or not.
“Why are you calling, Bianca?” He finally asked.
She was prepared for a confrontation. But more specifically, she was ready for settlement. The kind that came with cuddling him in bed and a blend of their screams and moans all day.
“I've missed you, Ethan,” she purred. “Don't you miss me?”
Bianca was never in his mind. Maybe the first few weeks of their separation. But he had since forgotten about her existence.
But her calling now might be the distraction he needed. He was trying to heal from the wound Abigail created in his heart.
Maybe he wanted to hurt her too. Or he wanted to push her away. But the thought of Bianca calling was suddenly improvising.
“Where are you?” He asked.
“Staring at your window and remembering the night you pressed my cheeks against the frame and fucked me till I screamed.”
She bit her lips in excitement. Maybe it was going to be easier than she thought.
“I've missed you, Ethan. And I'm sorry for everything. I just want us to talk,” she said when Ethan didn't respond to her sultry speech.
She saw the door of the apartment open and Ethan stepped out. The sight of him sent her heart fluttering. She had seen him since their separation in TVs. But looking at him up close was…different.
“Where are you?” He asked again, his eyes drifting around.
He wasn't expecting her in a Bentley. She ended the call with a scoff and stepped out.
She was in his favourite.
Black gown. Hair tied into a bun. Red lipstick. Heels as high as heaven.
Could he resist?
Bianca was ready to be back to Ethan. And with the state he was in, he didn't pull up much fight. He looked emotionally down and badly needed company. “Coffee?”She knew how much Ethan loved to have morning coffee and knew the exact way he loved it..He was watching her with suspicion. But he nodded and moved to the lounge. When she arrived with two cups of coffee, he asked the question he had been dying to ask.“Why are you here, Bianca? Didn't you say you hated me?”She took a sip and set the cup on its saucer. “That was a long time ago, honey. Time has a healing tone to it.”He leaned forward. “Healing? How come I haven't healed from everything?”Everything was the nightmare that their separation was. A few years into it and they realised they couldn't be in each other’s hair space. Bianca declared that she wanted an open relationship. Ethan, nonchalant, agreed. Exploring other options was going to help them see if they really wanted to be together and solidify their union, the

Ethan was restless on his bed, he wondered how Abigail was doing and if she had been found. He picked up his phone and dialed Alex's number but he wasn't picking up and that just heightened his worry. The doctor told him to rest as his wounds needed enough rest to heal but Ethan was so concerned about Abigail's well being that he couldn't even get enough shut eye.Scared,he dialed Alex's number again. This time,Alex picked. “What's the situation?” Ethan asked.Alex remained silent for a while. Slowly,he spoke.“We heard gunshots inside the building.” “Which building?” Ethan asked. “Alpha kael's. We guess it's his daughter causing trouble.” Alex said, adjusting his cuff. From the background,Ethan heard one gunshot, followed by an explosion…then nothing.“Alex? Alex?” He kept shouting, but there was no response. Not caring if there was a healing wound across his back where a wolf had scared him with its paws,Ethan stood up and ordered for the jet to be prepared immediately. The doctor
Abigail's phone kept ringing non stop. When she finally checked her phone, she saw a lot of texts and missed calls from friends and colleagues. As she was deciding which one to answer first, Mia's call came in. Abigail picked the call. “Hello Mia,” she greeted, her voice still heavy with sleep.“Abigail,is it true?” Mia asked, really excited. “True that what?” Abigail raised a brow at the suspense. “You're dating Liam Frey?” Mia asked.“Wait…what?” Abigail sat up immediately. “You don't have to hide it anymore. Your romantic dinner kiss is all over the internet.” Mia said, really excited.Abigail frowned,it seemed paparazzi had followed Liam on his way last night. Ethan must've seen it too. She imagined he would be really pissed. Well she didn't care, she was going to break up with him when they next met.She cut the call with Mia and decided to get productive for the day. After her bath she put on her clothes and a face mask. She couldn't handle the risk of someone recognizing her outside
Abigail walked slowly down the streets. It was drizzling and there were no cabs so she had to walk. I was a bit windy too,she had to rub her palms against her shoulder to keep warm. She walked into a shop and bought a bottle of alcohol for herself. She wasn't much of a drinker, but she suddenly felt the need for alcohol to burn down her throat. She noticed two men had been following her since she left the restaurant. Scared, she quickened her pace, but they caught up with her.“What's a pretty little miss like you doing out here alone?” “Leave me alone.” Abigail swung the bottle at them but they caught it and threw it away. The two men grabbed her and pinned her to a nearby car.The hand of the first man reached under her skirt and felt her laps.“Ethan stop.” Abigail groaned.”Hey! Leave her alone.” Liam interjected the scene. The two thugs immediately resorted to the use of their fists,Liam was able to overpower them and they ended up running away from him.Liam walked over to Abigai
Abigail stepped through the familiar doorway. The restaurant hadn’t changed, the same dim lighting, the same wooden booths. But everything felt different now.She used to love this place. It had been theirs, where Liam had first asked her out, where they had spent hours stealing glances over candlelit dinners. Where they had shared secrets. Now, standing in the same space, she felt nothing but disgust. Choosing this place wasn’t accidental. Liam wasn’t nostalgic,he was calculated. He wanted to remind her of who they used to be. He wanted her to hesitate, to soften, to forget the damage he’d done. But she wouldn’t. Straightening her shoulders, Abigail exhaled and stepped forward. Let him see that she wasn’t the girl he left behind. Liam ran to embrace her,he encircled his arms around her, holding on as tight as he could. Abigail pushed him away, disgusted.Liam barely hesitated when Abigail stepped back, rejecting his hug. A flicker of something crossed his face, but he covered
