With lethargic steps, Afgan was forced to walk to the bus stop because there were no taxis passing by at all.

Afgan sat brooding on the cold metal seat, where he had to sit for the next bus in half an hour. The cold weather around him made him tighten his coat. A few young men and women were laughing at the side and they were looking at social media while glancing at Afgan.

At first glance, Afgan glanced lazily at the girl's style of dress while contemplating what if Joanne would be a teenager soon and then in a group of young people with casual clothes that lack cloth.

There was no 'Dad' call from his daughter. Afgan only got two flat faces. The silence lasted until the elevator stopped at the 12th floor where the presidential suite was located. Afgan had been staying there a

“Aiyana.” Afgan called back to Aiyana with a voice full of tenderness.“Afgan, let go. We're already very wet right now!”Hearing that, Afgan began to realize then let go of his hands that embraced Aiyana's waist.Aiyana lowered her body to grab the umbrella that fell on the floor. Afgan looked at Aiyana with regret for the incident earlier. His handsome face now looked serious, showing a look of deep concern. “I'm sorry, Aiyana. I really didn't mean to shock you with my attitude all this time,” he said in a soft voice.Aiyana smiled gently, trying to ease the tension in the air. “It's okay, Afgan. The important thing is that we're okay,” she replied while tightly grasping the umbrella she had picked up from the floor. The two of them then walked together out of the rain, towards the safer seats inside the bus stop. It was only two meters away from where they were so they had to run a little. The sky

Afgan held his cheek which was in pain. His eyes turned red and he looked at Aiyana with a feeling that was hard to explain.“What do you want? I'm just a woman who isn't divorced yet. We... we were just involved in some trouble.” Aiyana pushed Afgan's body away then stepped over to the bed and sat on it.“Do you have a point?”“I love you, Adelia!” Afgan exclaimed without hesitation. His words made Aiyana laugh out loud. “Adelia? You've only had a fever once and you've lost your mind? So you're misremembering? I'm Aiyana! Look carefully! Open your eyes, Afgan!” Aiyana raised her voice and folded her arms under her chest.“You still want to lie to me? You're my Adelia!” Afgan exclaimed and was about to approach Aiyana, but she immediately stood up and tried to get away. However, Afgan's body was taller and his strength was greater. With a push of his body, Aiyana was thrown onto the

Their faces were getting closer, and Afgan wanted to kiss Aiyana, but as one hand held Aiyana's face, Afgan's face changed drastically.“Aiyana, you have a fever!” he exclaimed suddenly.“Yes, I feel dizzy.” Aiyana held her forehead which did feel a little warm.“Come on, you lie down on the bed and I'll look for fever relievers,” Afgan said frantically. After helping Aiyana lie down, Afgan then rushed to open the nightstand drawer where he kept the fever reliever that Doctor Amira had given him yesterday.“Here, eat the medicine first,” said Afgan as he handed her the medicine and a glass of warm water.Aiyana obediently lay down afterward. For a few days, Afgan cared for Aiyana with great care, despite her often cold rejection. He spent time with their children, trying to make new, precious memories for the family. Afgan cooked for them and even helped clean the house, things that Aiyana's in

“You stay here and let a man protect you!” Afgan said in a stern tone then moved to the door.“Afgan,” Aiyana called softly. The woman felt grateful that there was a man protecting her at the moment. Moreover, that man was indeed her husband. How she wanted that as much as any woman on this earth.Aiyana created a problem that was already growing and she was dragged into the current of life with Simon who was greedy for money. Money is the main problem in life. All the failed life Aiyana had with Afgan, also because he was an arrogant heiress who was forced to marry her and she herself married out of the need to cover the huge amount of money her father owed her.Afgan did not turn his head at all towards Aiyana's call, but instead continued to stride towards the main door and opened the door.Simon stood proudly at first, for he had not expected Afgan to still be there. The two men stared at each other with displease

Afgan woke up to the sound of voices coming from the children's room. He quickly stood up. Aiyana was still sleeping peacefully. It was nearing noon.Afgan felt he had a duty to cook something for the children for lunch. Therefore, he immediately moved to the kitchen to cook something. Not long after, the smell of food wafted up and was so good, it lured Lucas and Joanne, who were already hungry, out of their room.“Uncle's cooking? Is Mom not cooking?” asked Joanne. They didn't know about their mother's hand not being able to hold the pot because they didn't see how big the scratches were.Afgan chose not to answer the question, instead he diverted the question, “Are you hungry? Bring me a plate and sit down. The food is ready.”Joanne obediently complied, as did Lucas.Afgan chose not to explain the reason why he was the one cooking,

“What's wrong with you, Aiyana?” Afgan repeated once more and began to feel worried.Aiyana shook her head. The look on her face turned cold and stern again.“I see you're getting better, do you still need me to take care of you?” asked Aiyana as she raised her injured hand and continued her sentence. “I don't think I'll be able to take care of you. Why don't you go to the hospital? I'll call Bob.”“Aiyana!” Afgan stood up half shouting.Aiyana gasped in surprise at Afgan's high voice. Afgan grunted then sat back down and tried to control his anger.“Aiyana,” he called softly this time. Aiyana stared at him in confusion.“I'm still sick, but right now, you are too. So...”Afgan stopped talking and took Aiyana's hand. “Look, you definitely can't cook and the kids will starve.”“Uhm, I can order food online,” Aiyana said as she pulled

Suddenly, however, Afgan saw Aiyana's face start to blush. He realized the situation and quickly moved away. “I'm sorry, Aiyana. I didn't mean it like that,” he said with an embarrassed smile.Aiyana also realized the tension and smiled while shaking her head. “It's okay, Afgan. It's just a moment that makes us feel close.”The two then shared a small laugh, easing the tension for a moment. Although the moment almost brought them to a deeper level of intimacy, they both chose to keep their friendship boundaries.“I'm glad you're here for me, Afgan. Thank you for your concern,” Aiyana said sincerely.Afgan replied, “Of course, Aiyana. We can always count on each other.”Their awkwardness towards an almost intimate moment makes the atmosphere a bit awkward between Afgan and Aiyana. Suddenly, however, the hungry sound of Aiyana's stomach echoes through the room, ending the awkwardness and m
