Chapter 6

Melati had just stepped into the kitchen and stopped at the door leading to it, when she heard a faint chatter that slightly disturbed her ears.

"I did not expect that Mr. Edwin would get married so soon, with a woman who turned out to be pregnant," he said full of disappointment. He chopped carrots while spitting out his annoyance.

"Maybe that's the fate she has to face," Ernawati replied, facing the burning stove. She was cooking something for dinner.

"But still I don't want to see Mr. Edwin have to be with that woman. Because in addition to not having good manners, the woman was very inappropriate side by side with Mr. Edwin," the process that made Ernawati immediately looked full and smiled briefly.

"Never mind, forget it, and let it be Edwin's business. Your job here is to take care of papa, to keep him healthy, including also to pay attention to the servants in this house so that they can work well."

"If it was for that one thing I would have done very well."

The girl nodded again, then smiled. She felt happy because Ernawati was always kind to her and never discriminated against her even though she was only an assistant in the House. Their relationship has long been good, since the girl lived in Candra Wijaya's House since ten years ago. At that time the girl named Wina lost her parents and she did not have a family there, so Candra Wijaya took her to the house and made her an assistant there, without distinguishing her from other family members.

"This dish let you take care of yourself Yes, I want to rest first." Vienna nodded. Ernawati immediately put down the apron and was a little surprised when she saw Melati almost passed from the place.

"Melati?"

The pregnant woman instantly turned around and showed her haughty attitude, as usual.

"Yes." He answered briefly.

"You hear everything?" Ernawati asked doubtfully. However, the conversation just now must have made Melati uncomfortable.

"Take it easy, I am aware of my current position. The girl's right anyway, right?"

"It's not that, Mel." Ernawati herself felt guilty for responding to the girl's words. He should have been more careful in speaking.

"That is indeed true. Maybe your son deserves a better woman, too. But, don't expect me to thank you guys for not embarrassing me on my wedding day. And just calm down, I will definitely leave this place soon." Melati sighed harshly. Viennese words rang in his ears.

"And yes, I may not be worthy of your son. We are not compatible and this ridiculous marriage looks even worse," he continued as he passed, not wanting to talk to Ernawati for a long time.

Ernawati herself massaged her heavy head. He almost entered the room when Candra approached him.

"What did that woman tell you, son?"

Ernawati looked up and smiled.

"Nothing. Just a little chatter, "he didn't want to prolong the problem.

"Tell Vienna to prepare food for her and take her to her room."

"Eh why?" Ernawati felt confused at Candra's sudden request.

The man just smiled a little.

"Have you forgotten that when you were pregnant you used to love to eat, even though it could increase your weight many times over. And I see that she hasn't eaten since she came to this house."Ernawati patted her forehead softly. He almost forgot to offer the woman to eat so it was cool to talk to his father, as well as the assistants in that place that had been abandoned for a long time.

"That's right, yeah. Why did I forget. Alright I'll hurry up sister kitchen and serve some food so that Melati can enjoy it."

That Black Mercy drove out of the yard and onto the highway that didn't seem too crowded during the day.

Edwin sat down and opened the tab and did some work there that he had left for two days.

Beside him, Jovan sat faithfully watching him. The man smiled and stared at Edwin who when he had done something, he would forget everything.

Jovan cleared his throat before finally opening his voice.

"I heard you got married yesterday. Congratulations, you didn't tell me until this big news," said the man who was able to make Edwin turn his eyes to him seriously.

"Are you looking for death or looking for trouble?!"he said with an annoyed look on his face. Every time I remember that ridiculous wedding, I don't know why my heart is always suddenly upset. Jovan chuckled.

"Hey, why are you angry? Didn't the Old Man always tell you to get married and suddenly his prayer was granted God. Isn't that a coincidence."

"If you don't know anything then shut up," Edwin said again. I don't want to argue with the guy who always makes fun of me.

"Alright I already know everything, it's just that I didn't expect that a man like you wasn't even strong against the four adults who dragged you down the aisle. Or maybe ... you just wanted to get married."

"Hey I'm not that insulted so I have to get married quickly especially with that woman in the middle ha -" Edwin's words stopped. He almost let go and told his trusted assistant about Melati's current condition.

"Hi, why don't you continue your speech. Is there something you're hiding?"asked Jovan curiously, looking at Edwin's face which again turned his face on the flat screen in front of him.

"Never mind I'm lazy to talk about him, you should see for yourself the situation," said Edwin again.

"I'm getting curious," Jovan said again as he massaged his chin. He wanted to see what kind of woman his boss was forced to marry.

Until the two arrived at the office, there was no conversation between them. Edwin focuses on his work, while Jovan also checks the schedule and some other work so that it doesn't feel like it's almost night. Edwin and Jovan went home together.

"You shouldn't have come to my house," said Edwin resentfully to his side, where Jovan smiled behind the wheel. The man deliberately drove his vehicle without the help of a driver because he was curious to see the boss's wife as well as his best friend.

"Come on, sometimes staying over is okay. Who knew I might interrupt your second night anyway," he said with a laugh, who got the toyoran straight from Edwin's hand tight enough for the man to grimace in pain.

"Hey, you son of a bitch. Your actions can make us wretched to know, " Jovan blurted out again, feeling unappreciative.

Edwin was just rude. He had thought that when he returned home, there would only be a quarrel with Melati.

And remembering how the woman's disposition makes her always emotionally ignite.
