Chapter 8

Wow...!" Jovan's eyes widened at the sight in front of him. How could he not be surprised when he saw a sexy looking woman coming out of her best friend's room.

Edwin snorted in annoyance as he looked at his best friend then covered the man's eyes with his hand. Melati herself just shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, continuing to carry the empty tray downstairs.

"Has he never seen a woman," he muttered under his breath. Meanwhile, Edwin immediately pushed Jovan into his room, even though the man insisted he wanted to wait for Melati and get acquainted with her.

"Ed, let me get acquainted with him, just a moment, please ...!" Jovan kept begging, but Edwin didn't just let him go.

"You can do that anytime." Edwin hissed as his anger rose again after seeing Melati. He immediately went down the stairs to catch up with Melati who was apparently in the kitchen.

Edwin closed the refrigerator door a little tight until Melati jumped in surprise.

"You startled me!"

Melati was about to open the refrigerator door again, but Edwin held it, so that the man's hand was right in front of Melati's face.

"Can't you just not make me mad?" Edwin said through gritted teeth and clenched jaws.

"What do you mean?" Melati asked. She feels like she didn't do anything.

Melati gave in. He was about to turn away but couldn't, when he saw Edwin stood still in his place and thought, maybe Edwin was angry because he was about to take something from this kitchen.

"I'll replace it if you don't like me eating your food," she said, carrying two apples and a box of milk, preparing to leave the place.

"That's not what I mean." Edwin pulled his hand a little tighter until Melati screamed in pain and turned around.

"What are you doing, you bast**d?" Edwin looked at Melati's appearance from top to bottom until the woman felt annoyed.

"There's something wrong with your appearance," he said coldly.

"You think I care, huh?" Melati replied while pushing her chest. Edwin held Melati's hand back a little tighter.

"Didn't I tell you to wear more appropriate clothes. Remember Melati, not only am I a man in this house, but there are other people. Including male workers who might be tempted to see your appearance like this. Don't you feel uncomfortable with your all-open state? like that?" Edwin emphasized every word, until his body was leaning towards Melati and the woman had difficulty moving.

"Your thoughts are dirty. I myself feel that my appearance is normal," said Melati disapprovingly. His heart hurt a little hearing Edwin's words just now.

"Can't you just do what I say once?" Edwin snapped again feeling unsatisfied.

"I don't want to!" Melati replied again while handing her food to Edwin's chest which the man caught. Di immediately turned and ran towards the stairs with a stomping of his feet and into his room, then lay down on the blanket.

Melati felt the light in her tight chest when her gaze met the sharp gaze of Edwin. For some reason she felt irritated, and felt a pounding stab into her chest. Suddenly his stomach cramped a little and he groaned in pain. But the hand failed to rub his stomach.

"Argh...! You da*n woman!" Edwin squeezed the milk box in his hand, so the contents were scattered everywhere, then threw it at random. Thinking about Melati's behavior, after a while her brain could go crazy because she was constantly wracked with endless anger.

The man walked quickly after Melati who had already entered his room and found the woman lying under the blanket.

"Don't think I'll just sit there watching your behavior in this house," said Edwin, pulling a pillow and immediately lying down beside Melati.

The woman squealed at the same time annoyed, then pulled off the blanket and looked beside her.

"Then, what do you want? Throw me out? Say it clearly," he challenged with his chest heaving.

"You!"

"Besides, shouldn't you be sleeping in the same bed with me? It's too strange to share a bed, when you're just getting angry!'

Edwin looked back at him, until the two of them stared at each other sharply. They emit an aura of hatred for each other.

"Do you think I'll give in to sleeping on the couch every night and let you sleep soundly in my bed. I see? That's never going to happen. Besides, I need enough rest to be able to function properly the next day." Edwin reasoned.

He didn't want to budge and let others enjoy his soft bed. Meanwhile he had to be in pain from sleeping on the uncomfortable sofa.

"Then why last night you avoided me and chose to sleep on the sofa?"

"Should I explain the reason to you?" asked Edwin again, annoyed with Melati who kept arguing with him.

"No need," said Melati, making Edwin's emotions explode even more.

"I'm going to be crazy if I keep dealing with you," said the man as he turned and turned his back on Melati, then immediately closed his eyes. Melati snorted in annoyance then did the same thing, both of which were sleeping back to back.

In the middle of the night Edwin woke up, feeling his throat feel dry. At the same time, he faintly heard the sound of crying. The man opened his eyes slowly then sharpened his hearing and turned to the side where Melati lay. But the sound seemed to just disappear.

'It must be because I'm tired that I'm thinking about things,' he thought in a monologue.

Early in the morning Edwin had woken up and started his day by fulfilling his duty to the Creator. He looked at Melati who was still unmoved under her blanket. The man just shook his head slowly, then got up and put on his gym clothes, then went to the room where he used to build the muscles in his body. It took Edwin a long time to warm up until finally Jovan, who had just woken up, approached him with a sleepy face.

"Good morning, newlyweds," said Jovan idly. Edwin remained silent, reluctant to respond to the naughty man's words.

"You just woke up?"

"Yes, of course. I couldn't sleep last night because I heard strange noises from the next room. Yeah, you know, it's kind of like a sigh." Jovan said while clearing his throat. Edwin who was confused immediately stopped his activities for a moment.

"Isn't that next to your room—"

"Yes, right next to your room." Jovan replied quickly until he laughed when Edwin's eyes widened.

"Hey, then what do you really mean?" asked Edwin disapprovingly. The man almost hit Jovan's head but the man continued to dodge and laughed.

"Why are you mad, Ed. That's normal for a newlywed couple." Jovan laughed out loud and got his best friend's glare.

"Your brain is broken," interrupted Edwin in annoyance. He couldn't stop thinking about Jovan, who always asked him to joke and always managed to irritate him because of his nonchalant mouth. However, the relationship between the two remained lasting, even though Jovan thought that Edwin was taking everything too seriously.

"Ed, where are you going?!"

"Never mind, I'm too lazy to continue all this." Edwin turned to leave, leaving Jovan whose expression changed to surprise. Even the man had received a wet towel that was thrown right in his face.

"You're really no joke, Ed!"
