Chapter 24

Kaylee pov

I can tell by the hand over my mouth and the other that is wrapped around my shoulders that it is a woman and not a man. I feel calmer and hope it's the woman who found me before when she turns me around and gestures to me to keep silent.

When I see it's her, I let out the breath I was holding in, and she grabs my arm with hers and starts to lead me another way through the forest. I get this feeling we are walking in circles when she stops and listens several times before we suddenly come closer to the edge of the forest and in front of us is a house.

"I hope it's enough and they won't be able to track us here, we will stay here tonight, and tomorrow I can take you to the city or wherever you want to go," she says, starting to move with me towards the house. I don't know why she is helping me, but I'm grateful for everything. I know they would probably have found me by now if it wasn't for her.

Walking in silence I feel cold and exhausted when we make our way closer to the
