LOGINKaylee pov
She takes a step back with me when we hear him walking closer to the door. She slowly starts to walk with me further down the hallway. My adrenaline pumps around in my body, and it makes my legs move. I feel weak, but I manage to move them when we hear him stop by the door. "What are you doing?" I hear him boom out to her, and Liana pulls me slowly with her. "On my way to see a patient, it's urgent, so if you excuse me," she says when I hear him mumble something before his footsteps walk away from the door. The door is slowly opened when she comes walking through it and heads right over to where we are. She grabs my other arm when they start to walk fast with me down the hallway and towards a back door. "We don't have much time," the woman says when we reach the door, and she opens it with a card before looking outside. I see her sniffing in the air for a moment before she pulls me out with her. "I have placed a bag behind the shed, already planned the way for us to take," Liana says when we walk around the building and head for what looks like a small shed. I don't understand what Liana means, and I try to remember what happened. "Here, I take the bag for now, we need to head for the borders. The guards will shift right now and head for the other end, this way of the borders will be free for a short time and that's our best chance to get you out of here," Liana says, dropping my arm before I see her pick up a bag from the ground. She puts it on and walks back to where we are. "I don't understand this," I say in a low voice when my head starts to hurt and I place my hand on my forehead. "It's common to feel disoriented and get a headache, I'm sure your memory of what happened will come back eventually. Don't force it." The woman says when they both start to walk fast with me into the forest behind the shed. "We have to go faster, can you run?" Liana asks me when they both start to pull me faster with them. I have a hard time coping with their pace and have to focus on just my breathing and getting my legs to follow their way. "I'm surprised she can keep up, it shouldn't be possible. I bet your father was someone else than a low ranked omega, with the strength you are showing without your wolf, I would guess he is of a higher rank," the woman says but I can't focus on that either. My head hurts worse when I try to put all the pieces together. "You think he was?" I hear Liana say to her in shock when they both suddenly stop in their tracks and start to listen closely. I don't hear anything. "They are coming! You have to run while I try to keep them occupied," the woman says before she lets go of my arm. "Run, and I hope you get away," she says when I see her shred her clothes when she shifts and starts to run in one direction. "Come, we have to hurry," Liana says, now even I hear some running. She pulls on my arm when I get my legs to move at her speed, and before I know it we have started to run. It doesn't take too long until she holds my arm and stops me. Turning towards her, I wonder why we have stopped when she takes off her bag and hands it to me. "I placed some clothes in the bag and all the money I have saved. Take it and start over somewhere else," she says, handing me the bag. I don't know why it never crossed my mind that she would be leaving me. She holds the bag to me when I just look at her. "I can't come with you, I wish I could, but my place is here," she says, placing the bag on my back when she walks around and stops in front of me. She takes my hands in hers and looks at me with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry for what they did to you, wish it never happened. I hope it's enough money if you want to get rid of it," she says when I see tears well over and run down her cheeks. I have nothing to say at the moment, I feel numb. "You know I see you as my sister, and if you come to a place where you are safe, try to contact me, and maybe I can come to meet you," she says, wrapping her arms around me. She holds a hard grip around me when I hug her back. "You are my sister," I say to her ear when she sobs on my shoulder. "You have to run and get away from here, don't let anyone capture you, and hide in a human town. Don't forget to leave the pack when you step over the borders. It's enough if you say your first name and that you are an omega, it will release you from this pack but once the words are out you are rogue and have to run," she says, and it just dawns on me that I will be rogue, and I can't go near any pack grounds out there. "They are on their way, you can't stay here any longer," she says, breaking the hug before she takes a step back. Tears are running down her cheeks when she looks over her shoulder before turning her head back, and I hear some barking a bit behind. I know it's now or never. Turning around, I step over the mark that I know shows where this pack grounds stop and turn to look at her. She holds my gaze when I say the words that release me from this pack, I feel the connection to this pack break. Even without me having a wolf, I feel the emptiness in my soul. I'm officially rogue. "Go! And whatever you do, stay as far away from the father of the child as possible; he is dangerous, and no one can save you from him if he catches you!" she says to me when she turns around and sheds her clothes, shifting before she starts to run back, just leaving me with those words. I have a hard time processing this when I hear a roar and it has my legs moving forward fast. I'm too late to stop when I reach a wide river and fall right in the water and end up under the surface by the strong river. Coming up to the surface again, I spit out some water when I feel my body getting caught by the river and pulling me with it. I have to fight to keep my head over the water when I come closer to a small waterfall, and it doesn't matter if I try to swim the other way, the river is too strong, dragging me with it. I don't know for how long I have been inside the water fighting for my life, but I'm exhausted to the point where I'm ready to give up. It takes all the strength I've got left when the river gets calmer to swim over to the shore, I manage to grab hold of a rock and pull myself out of the water. Crawling up I fall to the ground defeated with exhaustion. I have no strength to move a muscle and have to give in when I fall asleep where I lie in my wet clothes. "What do we have here?" I suddenly hear a man's voice from a distance when I feel someone kick me in the side. Grunting, I try to move but my whole body is cold and it hurts everywhere. "Well, the rogue is still alive. I thought she was dead there for a moment." I hear another man say, but I still can't move. "You know the orders, let's get her to him," I hear a man say before someone grabs my body and lifts me from the ground. "She is lighter than a feather, could break her in half with just my hand," I hear the man that's carrying me say. I have no idea who they are, but I know they aren't from my old pack at least and I have no energy left to move. I have no idea how long I have been out when I hear a voice boom out that has me jolting awake from my sleep. His voice vibrates through my body and I don't know what it is that feels familiar, I'm sure I have heard the voice before. "What is it?" He booms out when I open my eyes and see I'm still in the arms of a tall and muscular man. Turning my head slightly to see the source of the voice, my head starts to spin when my eyes land on the black haired man I feel like I have seen before. Suddenly everything comes crashing down on me at once, and I remember everything that happened. Where I know him from before, and this is the last place I should be at. He turns his head and when our eyes meet a gasp leaves my lips when I realize the truth, he's the Alpha and the man who got me pregnant.Liz pov Looking at Heidi like she has grown two heads all of a sudden, I don't know where to even start with all the thoughts and emotions I have with this new knowledge. I have known her for years, and not once has she even mentioned a man, let alone a mate on top of it. I can't sort my thoughts, and everything wants to come out at once when I feel my mate trying to contact me through mind link. "Not now, I'm fine." I open the link, telling him it quickly, and shut the link before he even gets a chance to speak. Holding my walls tighter around me, I can't let them fall, or he will feel my emotions, and then he won't give up until he gets the information out of me, and right now I can't let him know. "You have to explain, I don't get it. I've known you for years Heidi and not once have you mentioned a single thing about a mate. " I say, looking at her where she stands by the window. Her posture is cut off, but I see small changes in her face, and I know she is sad about it. Who
Heidi pov Liz has a shocked expression on her face at first, then she shakes her head at me. "We all are dying, but not until we're old, so cut the crap!" Liz snaps, and I shake my head at her and push my chair further back before I'm walking over to the window. Looking out, I try to sort my thoughts for a bit before I explain to her further. "I need you to put your walls up Liz, your mate can't find out about this or anyone else, and the both of you have to swear you won't tell a soul about what I'm going to reveal to you. I hadn't any thoughts of telling this to anyone, but I'm running out of time, and I need you to promise me you will take care of my daughter once I'm not here any longer," I say, my voice firm while I feel my insides slightly starting to tremble. It's one thing to push every feeling as far down as you can, and it's another to realize your worst nightmare is about to come true and there is nothing I can do about it. Sadness starts to seep into every cell in m
Heidi pov Walking out of her room, I wait and listen to her do as I said and lock the door before I head out of the apartment. I'm making sure the front door is locked, and then I head down to the kitchen. I know there is no way I'm going to be able to avoid Liz's questions much longer, she has been nagging me the whole time since I woke up. I can't tell her much yet, I don't want anyone to know, but there will come a point when I need her and Aliza to promise me they will keep my daughter safe and raise her as their own when I'm not here any longer. Breaking the news to any of them will be the hardest part, I know none of them will agree to it. They will be upset over the fact I haven't told them before, but that can't be helped. I simply had no other choice than to keep it to myself, everything else would raise too many questions. I find the kitchen already full with people, and they seem to have it all under control when I hear fast footsteps move closer from behind. "We n
Alora pov His scent reaches my nose before I hear the door to my office open. Dane comes walking inside while I'm looking at the papers on my desk. All the tests that I've done and the reruns come up the same, and even if I have a hard time understanding how it can be, I simply have to give in to the fact that it's true. "Aren't you coming to bed?" Dane asks me and walks over to my side, leaning down and giving me a kiss on my forehead. I'm just as exhausted as he is, but I have too much on my plate right now. "I wish I could, but I have to get to the bottom of this. I need to meet Levin again," I tell him when he leans forward to look at my papers. He takes a good look at every single one of them. "Are these true? And what's going on with Heidi's tests?" He asks me when I turn to look at him where he is in deep thoughts by the counter. "Yes, I believe they are, have run them several times, and they come up the same," I explain, looking at him and turning to the next paper.
Kaylee pov What are the odds of two women that are confirmed to be pregnant ending up dead by an accident? That can't just be an inconvenience. "Who killed them?" My voice is strained when I try to keep my emotions at bay, even if I right now even more than before want to crawl under the cover and shut out everything. "That's just it, no one knows. Since it's filed as an accident, there aren't any more investigations. This is another reason you are in great danger just by being pregnant with his child." She states when I place my elbows in my lap before covering my face in my palms. How, just how am I going to survive this? I'm a target from every direction at this point. If the wrong person gets to know who I am or who this child is, I'm dead or kidnapped for someone to force a ransom to hand me back. And for that matter, back to him because there wouldn't be any reason for the kidnapper to just let me go. "I know this is much to take at once, and I wish there would have been
Kaylee pov My mind is spinning with thoughts. I had hoped there would be a way to escape with my child after they revealed the truth. And yet here I am with no way out of it alive. "This isn't anything I want," I honestly tell her when she sighs and places her arm over my shoulders. "I know, and we can only hope you're not the heir to the Rawser family. That would be the best outcome. The other families are better than his family in every way, and I know they would be there for you if that was the case," she says, and a part of me feels a small glimmer of hope it might turn out good. "What's so bad with the Rawser family?" I have to ask her, it's better to know as much as possible. "There is a long story with him, and I don't even know where to begin," she says, taking a deep breath before she gets up from the bed and starts to pace back and forth in front of me, it's clear she is in deep thought. "The Rawser family has always been the problem at the Council for centuries, in
Kaylee pov I'm lying in bed, tossing and turning until I see the sun come up. I can't wait to do as planned when I toss the cover off me and place my feet on the floor. I quickly rise and walk over to the door leading into his room as silently as I can. I never heard him come back last night, an
Kaylee pov. I hear footsteps walking down the hallway when I shoot my eyes open and look up in the ceiling, it's all lit up, and looking at the clock it's early morning already. My brain suddenly registers a familiar scent, and it takes a few seconds before I shoot right up in bed and look aroun
Kaylee povI'm looking at Alora when I see in the corner of my eye something black moving in fast from the side. I turn my head slightly when the black moves closer, grabbing one of the rogues who is standing to my side. In one minute he was there, the next he is laying torned apart on the forest
Alora pov I wasn't prepared for the sight in front of the car when it stopped at the parking lot behind the hospital. Several nurses are running around on the ground, obviously looking for something, and I instantly get a bad feeling about this. "I'm at the parking lot behind the hospital." I mi
