53~ Evil plans
When Rita walked out of the police station, her eyes were red and puffy from all the crying she had done inside.
It took a while for her to come out because she didn’t know how to face Chris who had been waiting for her outside.
She had a lot of questions in her mind.
‘Why did Chris do what he did?’
‘What were his plans?’
'Does he love me for real?'
Rita’s heart ached when she thought about how the man she had come to love and trust had been lying to her all along. And she was stupid enough to fall for it. Again.
“Not anymore,” she muttered to herself as she walked to the parking lot.
Rita found Chris perched on the side of his car, waiting for her whilst scrolling on his phone. He looked up when he sensed her approaching and smiled warmly.
‘Is that smile fake too?’ Rita thought inside her head as sharp pains tugged at her heart.
“How did it go, babe?” Chris asked the moment Rita reached the car.
