Rita was rushing to finish up her work in the office before lunch break. She wanted to rush to the supermarket, buy fruits then head to the hospital to visit Maria, her mother-in-law.
While she was busy with her work, Rita heard her phone chime. A few seconds later, it started ringing.
She grabbed the phone to check who was calling and when she saw that it was Collins the private investigator, she answered the call.
“Hello.”
“Hello, good morning Miss Jones. I have just sent you some pictures. It’s evidence of Eric Thompson’s wife’s infidelity. I still haven’t been able to find solid evidence on Eric though. But he seems to be in contact with some wanted criminals. There’s a lead I'm following.”
“What do you think he could be doing with those criminals? Is he doing something illegal? We need a lot of dirt on him. I want him to rot in jail,” Rita said as she tightened her hold on the phone.
“I don’t think that’s the case. He used to sell

Christopher Stevens had been meticulously going through the company’s statistics when he received a call from his mother urging him to pay her a visit at the hospital. Worried, that her blood pressure might go up again, he quickly grabbed his car keys and drove to the hospital. To his dismay, he found Lydia Jacobs in his mother’s ward. Maria immediately perked up when she saw her son walk through the door. “Chris, look who’s here to visit me. Isn’t she a wonderful woman? Lydia, say hi to Chris.” Maria said when Chris stood next to her bed, a frown was now etched on his face as he stared at his mother accusingly. “Hi, Chris.. it’s been a while,” Lydia said in a sickeningly sweet voice. “Hmmm,” was all Chris could say. He was on the verge of losing his cool. If it wasn’t for his mother’s presence, he would have left already. “Wow, look at you two. You look good together—” “Where’s dad and Jasmine, mom?” Chris asked, cutti
A group of senior resident doctors was doing their rounds around the wards. They had just finished the women’s section on the east wing and were heading to the men’s section on the west wing. As they walked through the huge reception area they happened to see a commotion just next to the hospital’s entrance. “Can we have a doctor? Someone has fainted!! Oh my God and there’s blood!!” A panicked female voice could be heard resonating around the place. The group of doctors heard the cry for help and quickly rushed to the scene only to see a woman with red hair unconscious on the floor. “Eve!!” Suddenly one of the doctors rushed forward and held Evelyn in his arms. It was Jayden Molten. Seeing his girlfriend so helpless on the floor, he couldn’t care less if people found out about them. He rushed over and checked her pulse. But his heart sank when he inspected the bleeding area. ‘A gunshot wound’? His heart ached. It felt like someone was sq
When Rita came to, she found herself in a dark place. The area didn’t smell good. It also felt like she was floating. Especially with her being pregnant, the stench of the place made her heave as she tried to recollect herself. Rita tried to sit properly but she ended up bumping into someone. “Easy there..” Rita’s body jerked in alarm at the sound of the female voice on her right. “W – who are you?” She asked as she tried to calm her racing heart. “I’m also like you. I was brought here against my will,” the voice said. Rita had a lightbulb moment when she suddenly remembered what had happened. She was in the ward with Evelyn then a man with a gun came and took her. ‘Oh my God! Evelyn!! Is she alright?’ Rita thought to herself when she remembered that her friend was shot by the kidnapper. “Hey, don’t panic. As long as we stick together we will be fine,” Rita heard the voice again. “W – where are we? Where are the
Rita had decided to stay strong so that she could find an opportunity to escape. They had been kept in the dark throughout their journey. The only time the lights were turned on was when food was brought for them. That was when she could finally see Sabrina’s face and features. She seemed to be tall, with short caramel hair that was styled into a bob. Her large hazel-brown eyes twinkled with warmth as she spoke. Her friendly demeanor made Rita feel comfortable sitting close to her. There were also other women in the room but they meekly curled up to themselves. Rita felt sorry for the frightened-looking women. She wondered how many women had suffered such a terrible fate. They must have suffered a lot. When the ship finally reached its destination, Rita’s heart sank when she realized they were brought to an island in the middle of nowhere. The place didn’t even look like it was habitable. This was a disheartening discovery for Rita. Sh
4:00 pm at the Jones’ mansion. Eric Thompson was arguing with his wife over money. She had suddenly called him while he was at work asking for one million dollars. It was so shocking that Eric had to return home early to tell Patricia off and let her know that he already knew that the baby wasn’t his. “You cheated, lied, and made me become a daddy when you knew very well that this….” Eric pointed at Patricia’s baby bump and continued, “is not my child!! Be reasonable for once!! You won’t get a dime from me.” “I will.. unless you want the police to know about your secrets. Eric, you will GIVE me the money I’m asking for!!” Patricia yelled back with her hands on her waist. Time was running out and the police were closing in on them, soon they would have enough evidence to arrest them. She needed the money to leave the country and settle elsewhere as soon as possible. But Eric was being overly stingy. “Ha!” Eric scoffed then lifted his ha
Rita was shocked to come face to face with Eric. But soon the shock turned into anger when realization dawned upon her. “It was you!! You got me kidnapped!! Are you crazy?” She snapped as she glared at Eric. She wished she could wring his neck until his windpipe gave up. “Yes, I am. Crazy about you,” Eric said as he suddenly stepped forward and pulled Rita into his arms forcefully. “Gosh, I missed you. You have no idea.” “Oh, I do have an idea. You’re a psycho.” Rita said sarcastically as she tried to squirm from his hold. “Son, you’re finally here? Don’t tell me you want to leave without talking to your uncle.” The old man suddenly decided to show up. Rita wondered where he had been all this while. “Uncle Zack, I was just about to look for you. Let’s go to your office,” Eric said and left before giving Rita some clothes that he had bought on the way. “Change into these.” The woman who was tormenting Rita earlier was fuming wit
The moment Christopher Stevens called the police to report Eric Thompson, he secretly dispatched a team of his own to stand guard outside the Jones' mansion and the company. He had made a gamble. There was a high chance Eric would escape and run to wherever he kept Rita Jones. Chris planned to follow him discreetly. Of course, the easier way would be to arrest him and torture the answer out of him. But that would be time-consuming in case Eric decided to play games with them. As expected, Chris received a report from the police and his team at the same time. “Sir.. should I inform the police about Eric’s whereabouts?” A question came from John Kent, Christopher’s executive assistant while they stayed in hiding at the harbor as they waited for Eric’s ship to start off. John was there to organize a team of former special forces agents who would escort Chris on his quest to get his wife back. “No.. I will choose what to do with th
Rita thought they would get right at it the moment she was brought to Chris’s cabin. But to her dismay, another woman followed, telling her to lie down with her back flat on the bed. “How are you feeling? Any nausea?” The woman asked as she did palpations on Rita’s belly. It turned out that Chris had brought a doctor with him because he was worried about Rita’s health. After they shared that hot kiss, she had been feeling hot all over and wanted nothing but to have him inside her. Alas, she could only respond to the doctor’s questions since she was already here. “Sometimes I do have nausea. Most times I don’t.” “Ok, I have listened to your baby’s heartbeat and it’s perfectly normal. Your blood pressure is normal too. It’s a miracle that you left that place unscratched.” The doctor remarked with a smile as she packed her bag of medical supplies. When the doctor left, Rita quickly pulled Chris onto the bed and started mas
