Christopher Stevens had been meticulously going through the company’s statistics when he received a call from his mother urging him to pay her a visit at the hospital.

Worried, that her blood pressure might go up again, he quickly grabbed his car keys and drove to the hospital.

To his dismay, he found Lydia Jacobs in his mother’s ward.

Maria immediately perked up when she saw her son walk through the door.

“Chris, look who’s here to visit me. Isn’t she a wonderful woman? Lydia, say hi to Chris.” Maria said when Chris stood next to her bed, a frown was now etched on his face as he stared at his mother accusingly.

“Hi, Chris.. it’s been a while,” Lydia said in a sickeningly sweet voice.

“Hmmm,” was all Chris could say. He was on the verge of losing his cool. If it wasn’t for his mother’s presence, he would have left already.
