Irritation threatened to bubble up inside me for being woken up so early, but when I saw Sarah's beaming face and sparkling eyes, I couldn't bring myself to be angry.

I have never seen someone get so excited about some damn flowers.

I will have to give her props, though. The flowers did liven up the garden quite a bit.

After my mother was gone, I didn't bother with the garden much. In the back of my mind, I always figured the next woman in my life would be the one taking care of the house and garden. It's just weird to see that the woman happens to be my enemy, Thomas's daughter.

I guess I can only blame myself for that one.

I don't see Sarah anywhere when I get back into our bedroom, so I leave for the office without saying goodbye. I have a lot to do today.
