Leo took her hand while carrying Mary with the other.
“Where's your brother?” Ellie asked. “There!” Mary pointed her finger to the forest. Suddenly, Ellie had a bad feeling as the growls came from that direction. “Stay with Dahlia and take Mary with you.” Leo instructed them. He took off immediately towards the forest. The siren kept blaring, forcing everyone to drop whatever they did and hide. “Ellie, let's go. Alpha can take care of himself.” Dahlia grabbed her arm. It forced her to focus on jogging while holding Mary in her arms. She couldn't believe what was happening yet, a part of her knew what they meant. “Will Leo be,” she suppressed the doubts she had and prayed that he would be alright. “Alpha Leo is stronger than those rogues. Don't worry, this will be over before you know it.” Mary beamed with confidence while speaking. Though young she knew when to give encouragement. “Thanks, Mary. What are rogues and why are you calling him Alpha?” Her eyebrow scrunched at the words they were throwing to her. Leo tried to explain some of the things she saw but this wasn't part of it. “Keep running, Ellie. I will answer your questions when we are in the safehouse.” Dahlia interjected. She was holding three children in her arms as if they were light as a feather. “Alright.” She hastened and closed the distance between her and the others. The sirens blared continuously now, unlike before when there had been gaps between the sounds. The safehouse they were heading to was located at the foot of the mansion. A steel door swung open, revealing a staircase that led down to the basement. “We're almost there, Dahlia.” She looked back and saw the old woman cornered by two wolves. In a panic, she rushed to guide Mary toward the stairs. “Go inside.” She kissed Mary’s forehead before sprinting back to Dahlia and the three children. Unable to fight the wolves barehanded, she picked up a rock and threw it at the head of the gray wolf. It whimpered and collapsed, losing consciousness. The other wolf turned to face her, and in a quick move, Dahlia scratched its head with her sharp nails. Just like that, they were able to defeat the two rogue wolves. A sudden pain in her shoulders sent shivers to her body. Her eyelids became heavy and everything turned dark. “Ellie!” she heard a voice cry out before she fell into the abyss. Leo rushed to stop the attackers from reaching the pack center. The last time it happened, he unleashed his beast and lost control. This time he needed to be smart. Those rogues were no match for him. A large red wolf jumped onto him but his claws reached its stomach and he ripped it open. He shifted to his wolf form and helped the warriors suppress the attackers. ‘Alpha there are a hundred of them based on initial reports.’ Ray reported via speakers they installed in the forest. He howled to attract those rogues towards his location. Sure enough, dozens came after him. He smirked as he tore them one by one. The warriors were able to defeat the rest of the attackers. As they went back, he saw one lone wolf surpassed their defense and attacked her. “Ellie!” His heart raced at the thought of losing her. He had made dozens of deals to take her in. A rogue mustn't ruin his plans. He rushed to her but he already bit her shoulders. Enraged by his own mistake, his claws elongated and he lost control of himself. The rogue didn't stand a chance as Leo tore him to pieces. Even though he tried to dodge, Leo knew where he'd go. No wonder werewolves called him a monster in disguise. His unrelentless pursuit halted when the werewolf took his last breath. He shifted back to his human form and ran towards Ellie. “I need the medical team here!” He roared. He held Ellie in his hand and clipped the loose strands of hair onto the back of her ears. Her face was drained of color already. “Calm down, Leo.” Dahlia tried to sooth his anger. She knew how hard it was for him. “How? I just got her.” His eyes were blurry from the tears he was holding back. “You will know soon. Everything has a reason.” Dahlia replied. Her cryptic words gave him hope. He knew she saw something when their hands touched but didn't press on it. The doctors and nurses came. Then tended to her wound and lifted her in the stretcher. “Alpha, this woman is transitioning already. She is fighting the venom but it has reached her bloodstream already.” The doctor explained. “Will she make it back?” Leo didn't want to think about it but he had to prepare himself. “Given her lineage there is a big chance she can make it. Her body is well built even though she was treated like a human.” He explained. The way he phrased things meant a lot for Leo who was on the verge of killing the rogues they captured. “She is human.” Leo declared. Everyone gasped at the information. It was rare for an Alpha to seek out humans as a wife. No one expected it from their Alpha who was sought out by shewolves all over the kingdom. “We will do our best, Alpha. Our team is ready to bring her to the hospital.” The Doctor instructed his team. They never cared for a human so everything was new to them. “Take her to the hospital.” He looked at the medical team who were attending to Ellie like a hawk. “Dr. Karl, remember your life depends on her survival.” He reminded him. He would do everything to keep her by his side even if she doesn't know who he was. “Alpha Leo, your wounds need to be checked too.” Ray pointed at his shoulders. “I'm fine. This is just a scratch, my wolf can heal it. I don't need medical care.” He shrugged it off.Two weeks had passed. It was meant to be their wedding day, a time filled with joy and love, but fate had rewritten their story. Leo sat by Ellie's bedside, his heart heavy with worry. She remained in a deep coma, and each day felt like an eternity without her. He brought her fresh flowers, hoping their vibrant colors might somehow reach her in the darkness. With a voice full of longing, he shared stories about his day, as if each word could break through the silence surrounding her. “Ellie, please come back to us. I vowed to keep you safe, yet here we are, and I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve let you down. Please, give me another chance,” he whispered, holding her hands gently, feeling her warmth against his skin. In quiet moments, he sensed the stirring of her wolf inside her, a flicker of life that brought him solace, even as her eyes remained closed to the world. He pressed a soft kiss to her hand, wishing that this small gesture could forge a bridge to her spirit. The pa

Michelle closed her eyes and blinked thrice. She even pinched her cheeks to make sure she was awake. When she looked down at the window, the brown wolf was gone. Only men lying on the ground could be seen. “Mate.” There it was again. It seemed she could only hear it in her mind. She looked at the window but only saw some men and women cleaning up the mess. Ellie’s heart raced as she stepped out of her room, determined to make sense of what she had witnessed. This place was breathtaking, yet its beauty was veiled in layers of mystery.“Ellie? Where are you going?” Leo bumped into her as she walked out of the door. He wore a white shirt and blue sweatpants, his damp, tousled hair evidence of a recent shower. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw his pecs straining against his shirt. He was ripped. She gulped at the thought of him carrying her in his strong arms. Shaking her head lightly, she reminded herself. ‘Snap out of it, Ellie. He does care about you.’“There you are. Can I
“Good morning, Ms. Michelle.” Mr. Truman smiled at her warmly. He wore a black coat over a white long sleeve shirt, paired with light blue necktie and a Patek Philippe wrist watch. Everything about his look screamed wealth and sophistication.“Good morning, Mr. T-Truman?” Michelle was shaking as she spoke, unable to contain her curiosity. Yet, she couldn't fathom why he had to resort to a forced marriage. He was handsome and rich. “Call me Leo. Mr. Truman is my father. I never really liked people calling me that name.” He corrected her. His demeanor changed a bit. His hands relaxed on his thighs and his shoulders dropped. “Ray, can you take us back? Also, I never want to see her father again.” He commanded his butler. “Consider it done, Mr. Leo. By the way, I have made all the arrangements for the wedding.” Ray informed him. Michelle couldn't believe what she heard was right. She gritted her teeth. The atmosphere became cold and dangerous. “L” she opened her mouth but a small hu
Michelle ran fast with the sack of wood on her back. It was almost sunrise and the birds chirped in anticipation. Yet, she was already in the thick of things. Crossing out every chore she was told to do. She could see their mansion from a distance. All the lights were turned on and she found it odd. Without another thought, she dashed to the kitchen. “Ellie, have you seen Odette?” one of their chambermaids called on her. They were looking for her half-sister. She gasped. “I just got here. Did you check her room or her study room?” She replied. Deep inside she was ecstatic. Finally, she could take a break from her abusive sister. She smiled while she was carefully placing the sack full of chopped wood in the storage.“We did but she wasn't there.” Another one replied. They were turning the mansion upside down. “Ellie, good you're here. Father wants to see you.” Oliver, her younger half-brother called on her. He was towering over her as he held her hands. “I already did everythin
