Two weeks had passed. It was meant to be their wedding day, a time filled with joy and love, but fate had rewritten their story.
Leo sat by Ellie's bedside, his heart heavy with worry. She remained in a deep coma, and each day felt like an eternity without her. He brought her fresh flowers, hoping their vibrant colors might somehow reach her in the darkness. With a voice full of longing, he shared stories about his day, as if each word could break through the silence surrounding her. “Ellie, please come back to us. I vowed to keep you safe, yet here we are, and I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve let you down. Please, give me another chance,” he whispered, holding her hands gently, feeling her warmth against his skin. In quiet moments, he sensed the stirring of her wolf inside her, a flicker of life that brought him solace, even as her eyes remained closed to the world. He pressed a soft kiss to her hand, wishing that this small gesture could forge a bridge to her spirit. The pack members had begun to worry, asking about Ellie with concern in their voices. They knew she had selflessly saved Dahlia and the children, showing a bravery that transcended her human limitations. He heard a knock on the door, “come in.” “Alpha Leo, someone wants to see our Luna.” Ray spoke while standing in the door. “Who is her visitor?” He didn't want anybody knowing about her condition except for the pack members. The werewolf kingdom was tight knit and any news spread like wildfire. “Her mother.” Ray’s lips were pressed together. He didn't know how to explain it. “I will talk to her but not here. Keep an eye on, Ellie.” Leo replied. He stood up and fixed his hair. “Where is she now?” He quipped. “Here.” A middle aged woman stepped into the room. She wore an elegant navy blue dress paired with black shades and a designer bag. “Princess Kira, it is an honor to be in your presence.” Leo bowed before her. “Enough with the formality, Alpha Leo. Let's cut the chase. How is my daughter?” She sat beside her and caressed her cheeks. The longing in her eyes was just a flicker but it meant she cared more than she let on. “She finished transitioning and we are waiting for her to wake up.” Leo explained. He gulped down his saliva. Her stare was deadly, as if it would petrify someone. “I left her in your care because you're the strongest in our camp. Yet, you failed me.” She let out a sigh of disappointment. “Tonight's the full moon. Bring her to an open field and bring the seer with you. She would know what to do.” She kissed Ellie on the forehead and handed him an envelope. Then she went out of the room. “Make sure those names in the list suffer, or else I will cut my support to your pack.” Princess Kira walked away without another word. When Leo turned his eyes on Ellie, her eyes fluttered open. “Ray, call the doctor now.” He said. His voice was booming inside the room. Leo held her hand and she gripped his for a moment. The Doctors and nurses rushed to the room. “Alpha you called us?” One of the doctors asked. “Can you check on her, Dr. Karl? She gripped my hand and for a minute, she opened her eyes.” Leo explained. He still held her hand but she had let go already. “Can you please step aside, Alpha Leo.” Dr. Karl asked him. He started setting up his tools on the table while the nurses checked on her vital statistics. “Doc, she is half awake.” The nurse called out. Ellie was biting the temperature checker the nurse was holding. Doctor Karl moved and checked her eyes, it was moving with the light. “It seemed her wolf is taking control of her body at the moment. Alpha can you reach out to her?” Dr. Karl asked again. Leo closed his eyes and sensed the wolf within her. She wasn't part of the pack so it was harder for him to talk to her. “Hi, may I know your name?” he spoke to her. A few seconds passed but there wasn't any response. A growl was heard in the room. “Hi, can you please give back the control to Ellie?” Leo tried again. This time he used his alpha command. “She is weak.” The shewolf whispered in a hoarse voice. “Good you're talking. What is your name?” Leo continued to push her to gain information. “Alpha, we need to add more fluids into her system. She is dehydrated.” Dr. Karl interrupted. “Let her finish talking. One more word and you will be sorry you spoke out of turn!” His voice boomed in the room. A loud growl followed and the medical team bowed their heads in submission. He didn't like it when someone interrupted his conversations. “Go on, tell me.” Leo spoke to her in a softer tone. “Stephanie.” She whimpered at his voice. She almost peed herself when she heard him growl. “It is nice to meet you, Stephanie. Can you ask Ellie to come forward? I want to talk to her.” Leo tried to be patient with her. She seemed timid judging by her reactions. “I can try.” She replied. A few minutes passed and nothing seemed to happen. He leaned closer and watched her like a hawk. “Sorry, she isn't responding to me. I could barely feel her presence.” Stephanie whispered. Her voice was getting smaller with every sentence she made. “Rest. I will take care of you both.” Leo kissed her forehead. He looked at the medical team, “I need you to prepare her for transport.” He used his alpha command. His patience had ran out to argue. “Yes, Alpha.” They replied in unison. “Ray, call Dahlia. Tell her to meet us in the clearing near the falls.” he instructed him. Ray nodded his head and went out. Not a single word was said again until Ellie was in a stretcher. An ambulance waited outside as they transferred her from her room. “Get out. I will be driving.” Leo told the driver. Everyone was confused but no one asked questions. They already heard him growl. The next time it might be worse. He drove the ambulance with utmost care. Within an hour, he arrived in the clearing. He opened the door at the back to carry Ellie outside. He was removing the straps when Ellie woke up and held his hand. “Leo, I am dying.”Two weeks had passed. Leo took her hand while carrying Mary with the other. “Where's your brother?” Ellie asked. “There!” Mary pointed her finger to the forest. Suddenly, Ellie had a bad feeling as the growls came from that direction. “Stay with Dahlia and take Mary with you.” Leo instructed them. He took off immediately towards the forest. The siren kept blaring, forcing everyone to drop whatever they did and hide. “Ellie, let's go. Alpha can take care of himself.” Dahlia grabbed her arm. It forced her to focus on jogging while holding Mary in her arms. She couldn't believe what was happening yet, a part of her knew what they meant. “Will Leo be,” she suppressed the doubts she had and prayed that he would be alright. “Alpha Leo is stronger than those rogues. Don't worry, this will be over before you know it.” Mary beamed with confidence while speaking. Though young she knew when to give encouragement. “Thanks, Mary. What are rogues and why are you calling him Alpha?” Her eyebrow scrunched at the
Michelle closed her eyes and blinked thrice. She even pinched her cheeks to make sure she was awake. When she looked down at the window, the brown wolf was gone. Only men lying on the ground could be seen. “Mate.” There it was again. It seemed she could only hear it in her mind. She looked at the window but only saw some men and women cleaning up the mess. Ellie’s heart raced as she stepped out of her room, determined to make sense of what she had witnessed. This place was breathtaking, yet its beauty was veiled in layers of mystery.“Ellie? Where are you going?” Leo bumped into her as she walked out of the door. He wore a white shirt and blue sweatpants, his damp, tousled hair evidence of a recent shower. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw his pecs straining against his shirt. He was ripped. She gulped at the thought of him carrying her in his strong arms. Shaking her head lightly, she reminded herself. ‘Snap out of it, Ellie. He does care about you.’“There you are. Can I
“Good morning, Ms. Michelle.” Mr. Truman smiled at her warmly. He wore a black coat over a white long sleeve shirt, paired with light blue necktie and a Patek Philippe wrist watch. Everything about his look screamed wealth and sophistication.“Good morning, Mr. T-Truman?” Michelle was shaking as she spoke, unable to contain her curiosity. Yet, she couldn't fathom why he had to resort to a forced marriage. He was handsome and rich. “Call me Leo. Mr. Truman is my father. I never really liked people calling me that name.” He corrected her. His demeanor changed a bit. His hands relaxed on his thighs and his shoulders dropped. “Ray, can you take us back? Also, I never want to see her father again.” He commanded his butler. “Consider it done, Mr. Leo. By the way, I have made all the arrangements for the wedding.” Ray informed him. Michelle couldn't believe what she heard was right. She gritted her teeth. The atmosphere became cold and dangerous. “L” she opened her mouth but a small hu
Michelle ran fast with the sack of wood on her back. It was almost sunrise and the birds chirped in anticipation. Yet, she was already in the thick of things. Crossing out every chore she was told to do. She could see their mansion from a distance. All the lights were turned on and she found it odd. Without another thought, she dashed to the kitchen. “Ellie, have you seen Odette?” one of their chambermaids called on her. They were looking for her half-sister. She gasped. “I just got here. Did you check her room or her study room?” She replied. Deep inside she was ecstatic. Finally, she could take a break from her abusive sister. She smiled while she was carefully placing the sack full of chopped wood in the storage.“We did but she wasn't there.” Another one replied. They were turning the mansion upside down. “Ellie, good you're here. Father wants to see you.” Oliver, her younger half-brother called on her. He was towering over her as he held her hands. “I already did everythin
