Chapter 47 - Guilt Filled Heart

"Son, I really am sorry for not doing anything to stop your dad," I choked at my son's icy stare and my daughter - in law's innocent eyes looked at me.

Both stares I couldn't stand as they were pricking my guilt filled heart.

"Mom, this is the last time we are visiting this house as we aren't safe here," my son's voice was hard and cold.

I could only nod in agreement.

After all, he was right. He was drugged in his own home and we tried to destroy his life.

I was as guilty as Trevor because I didn't stop him although I didn't agree with him. I was also a culprit.

"Let's go," I heard him say to Tara.

Tara looked at me and said, "We'll be taking our leave madam."

The way she addressed me was polite yet distant and I couldn't blame her.

Should I expect her to be close to me when she had a bad experience with us?

Of course, she would feel hurt because we tried to break them apart.

"Alright, take care," I said with a wobbly smile as I was trying to suppress my tears.
