chapter 5: The Soul -- Binders Ritual 🫥

The air in the secret room grew thick, vibrating with a frequency that made my teeth ache. Kaelen stepped toward the stone sarcophagus, his hand hovering over the cold marble.

"You die because the Moon Goddess is a jealous mother, Elara," he whispered, his voice echoing in the hollow chamber. "In every life, we find each other. In every life, we fall in love. And in every life, right as the bond reaches its peak, you are taken from me—an accident, an illness, a blade in the dark. It is a curse placed on my bloodline for a sin committed centuries ago."

He turned to me, his eyes glowing with a terrifying, unholy light. "The contract wasn't just to get you here. It was to ensure you were bound to me before the cycle could reset. Tonight is the Blood Moon. If I don't bind your soul to mine permanently, I will lose you by dawn."

He grabbed a silver chalice from the dais and sliced his palm again, letting the thick, Alpha blood swirl inside. "Drink, Elara. Drink and let our souls anchor each other."

"No," I backed away, the horror of the portraits on the walls screaming at me. "You’re talking about erasing who I am to save a ghost! I won't do it."

The Escape

Kaelen’s roar shook the foundations of the mansion, but I didn't wait. I knew the secret door wouldn't hold him for long. I sprinted back up the stairs, my heart hammering. I didn't go for the bedroom door; I knew Marcus would be standing guard. Instead, I remembered the balcony.

I burst through the French doors of the suite. The rain had turned into a torrential downpour, the wind whipping my silk robe around my legs. The drop was fifty feet into the churning ocean, but to the left, a trellis of thick ivy clung to the stone.

I climbed. My fingers bled as I gripped the rough vines, the salt spray stinging my eyes. Below me, I heard the crash of the Master Suite doors being kicked in.

"ELARA!" Kaelen’s voice was a thunderclap of pure Alpha rage.

I hit the ground and shifted. The transition was agonizing—bones snapping and reforming—but as my white wolf emerged, I didn't look back. I sprinted into the dark woods, my paws thudding against the mud. I needed to reach the neutral territory of the Silver Lake pack. I needed to get away from the man who loved me enough to damn me.

The Marking (18+ Rated)

I didn't make it to the border.

A massive, midnight-black wolf slammed into my side, pinning me to the forest floor. Kaelen was twice my size, his weight crushing and absolute. He shifted back into his human form while still pinning my wolf down, his naked skin steaming in the cold rain.

"Enough!" he snarled, forcing my shift back into my human form.

He dragged me against a massive oak tree, his body a cage of heat and muscle. I was shivering, wet, and exhausted, but the proximity of his skin triggered a primal, uncontrollable hunger. The Blood Moon hung heavy and red above us, heightening every sense.

"You are not leaving me," he rasped, his hands pinning my wrists above my head. "Not in this century. Not in this lifetime."

He didn't wait for an answer. He crushed his lips to mine, a kiss that tasted of rain and desperation. My resistance crumbled as the lunar energy surged through us. I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him closer, my body aching for the very thing I feared.

Kaelen groaned, his hands sliding down to grip my thighs, lifting me higher against the tree. The friction of his skin against mine was electric, a slow-burn torture that left me gasping.

"Mark me," I breathed against his neck, the curse and the love blurring into one. "If it's the only way to stay, then mark me."

Kaelen’s eyes turned pitch black. He buried his face in my shoulder, his breath hot and ragged. He didn't just bite; he claimed. His fangs sank deep into the scent gland at the crook of my neck, injecting his venom and his soul into my bloodstream.

A scream of pure, agonizing pleasure tore from my throat. I felt the bond snap into place—a golden chain wrapping around my heart, connecting me to him across the vacuum of time.

He didn't stop at the bite. He moved with a feral intensity, his hands possessive, his mouth finding every sensitive inch of my skin as the ritual completed itself in the most carnal way possible. Under the red light of the moon, amidst the mud and the rain, the "Butcher" finally secured his prize.

As he collapsed against me, his head resting on my chest, I felt a new memory surface. A memory of a life I hadn't lived, but a man I had loved for a thousand years.

"I remember," I whispered, stroking his dark hair.

Kaelen looked up, a single tear tracking through the mud on his face. "Welcome home, Elara."

The universe, as it turned out, possessed a deeply offensive sense of humor. When Jax and Lyra slammed their hands onto the Primary Compiler, unleashing the rewrite that was supposed to make the Moon pass harmlessly through the Earth like a massive, glowing phantom, they had expected a quiet, high-concept miracle. They expected the celestial hammer to slip through the mantle, exit out the other side near Australia, and slide neatly back into space while high-strung celestial mechanics sorted themselves out. What they actually got was a sound like a wet towel being whipped against a brass drum, followed immediately by every single holographic blueprint in Sector Absolute Zero violently flashing neon pink.!! WARNING: RE-WRITING CELESTIAL PHYSICS...!!!!COMPILING... COMPILING...!!!!ERROR: COLLISION LAYER 'NOCLIP' SET TO 98.4% DENSITY.!!!!RESULT: PARTIAL PHASING.!!"Partial?!" Falling through the throat of a ten-thousand-year-old biological super-tree turns out to be remarkably similar to being flushed down a giant, glowing plumbing system. They dropped through three miles of pressurized amber slime, twice as many miles of screaming static, and one very confusing stretch where gravity momentarily gave up and tried to pull Jax out through his left ear. When they finally hit the bottom, they didn't crash. They bounced off a cushion of hyper-dense, purple foam that smelled faintly of ozone and old library books.Jax landed face-first, let out a muffled groan, and rolled over. "If anyone asks," he rasped to the ceiling, "I held my breath the entire way down and looked incredibly heroic.""You shrieked like a boiled kettle, Jax," Elara said crisply, landing neatly on her feet beside him and dusting off her shoulders. "And you held onto my collar so hard you nearly strangled me.""It was a tactical grip," Jax insisted, sitting up and immediately regretting it.Th

To my dearest readers, my beautiful reading family, and everyone who has stayed by my side:First of all, I want to sincerely apologize for my long absence and for going quiet without a proper word for all this time. I know so many of you were checking in, waiting for updates, and wondering where I had gone. Leaving you in the dark was never my intention, but life hit me with waves I truly didn't see coming. To be completely open with you all, these past few months have been some of the most emotionally draining and painful moments of my entire life. I suffered a very devastating loss—my beloved daddy passed away. Losing a parent is a pain that words can never fully describe. It felt like my whole world had come to a complete standstill, and my heart was broken into pieces. Trying to process that kind of grief while dealing with everyday life felt nearly impossible. To make an already overwhelming situation even harder, I also lost my phone during that chaotic period, which completely

  • Forever mine    CHAPTER 47:-THE CELESTIAL SLEDGEHAMMER AND OTHER INCONVENIENCES

It is a universally acknowledged truth that when the Moon decides to drop in for an unannounced visit, it completely ruins any chance of a decent night’s sleep.Jax lay flat on his back in the leaf-dusted dirt, staring up at the amber canopy of the World-Tree. His chest burned like he’d swallowed a lit kerosene lamp, and every muscle in his body felt as though it had been unstitched, washed in salt water, and hastily stapled back together."On a scale of one to ten," Jax wheezed, coughing up a small puff of what looked suspiciously like glowing green pollen, "how dead do I look?"Elara knelt beside him, wiping silver dust off her trousers. She gave him a brisk, unsentimental once-over. "Visually? An eight. Philosophically? You're practically an antique. But your pulse is steady, so stop complaining.""Easy for you to say," Jax groaned, slowly rolling onto his side. "Your arm wasn't used as a high-speed broadband cable for ancient eco-terrorist root software.""It was a planetary defen

  • Forever mine    chapter 46:The parallax protocol

The air in the Gaia-Kernel’s chamber didn't just vibrate; it hummed with the frequency of a dying god. The silver-masked figure—once a Guardian, now a hollowed-out vessel for the Architects’ logic—stood between Jax and the green-glowing seed of the world. "Step aside," Jax rasped, the red circuitry on his arms flaring to a violent crimson. "The 'experiment' ended the second you started bleeding the Moon." The figure tilted its head, a sickening sound of grinding metal echoing from its throat. "The Lunar Descent is not an end, Jax. It is a hard reset. The biosphere is cluttered. We are simply... I’m defragmenting." The Clash of Logic and Life Before Jax could move, the Guardian lunged. He didn't move like a human; he moved like a frame-rate glitch, appearing several feet closer in a blink. His obsidian blades whistled through the air, slicing a glowing amber fiber where Jax’s head had been a second before. Elara didn't hesitate. She leveled her pulse-rifle, but the silver mask

  • Forever mine    Chapter 45: The Red Lunar Eye

The sky was no longer blue. As the trio drifted on the wreckage of the Abyssal Gate, the atmosphere began to bruise—a deep, sickly purple that signaled the collapse of the planet’s magnetic shielding. But it was the Moon that commanded the horizon. The pale, familiar orb was bleeding. A massive, geometric rift had opened across the Sea of Tranquility, revealing a core of glowing red machinery. The Architects weren't just using the Moon as a base; the Moon was a weapon. A planetary-scale engine designed to act as a celestial hammer."They're de-orbiting," Elara whispered, shielding her eyes from the unnatural glare. "They aren't going to fight us for the surface. They’re just going to erase the surface."Jax sat up, his movements stiff and mechanical. The red lines on his skin pulsed in a slow, funeral rhythm. "We have seventy-two hours. Maybe less. I can feel the math in the air... the gravity is already starting to tug at the tides."The Call of the Deep ForestLyra stood at the edge
