Sarah was walking on the street. She was sad. Due to her one mistake, her family was ruined. She is still suffering the punishment of that mistake. Not only was she made fun of, but every member of her family had to bear this insult.
Her mother stopped going out of the house; whenever her father went to work, he had to listen to the taunts; her brothers got insulted in school; and due to all this, they had to leave the town. Sarah felt a heavy weight of guilt and regret on her shoulders as she walked, knowing that her actions had caused so much pain to her family. She wished she could turn back time and make things like before. Her father could not bear this torture and hanged himself. Sarah's mother could not bear her father's death and went into a coma, for which she is still undergoing treatment. Despite her remorse, the damage has been done, and the scars run deep for each member of her family. After losing their parents at a young age, Sarah and Matthew were each other's supporters. Sarah had to work while studying in school, and when she went to college, she had to work more than two jobs so she could raise money to support her brother's education and her mother's treatment. ****************************** After enduring so much, time and circumstances had made her strong, and now she was fearless. She had to arrange a new job quickly. She was worried about this. She had a good degree as well as experience, so she was hopeful that she would soon get a job in a big company and then she would not have to work two jobs. She enters the ward where her brother is already present. Matthew asked, “You came so early?" Sarah said, “ I have left the job." Matthew asked, “What? But why?" Sarah said, “Maybe that job was not perfect for me." She smiles Sarah asked, “What are you doing here?" Matthew said, “ I came here to meet mom." Sarah said, “ I can see it." Matthew said, “There were no classes today, so I came here." Sarah said, “Let's go home." Matthew said, "Okay." With this, both of them come out of the hospital. As they walked out of the hospital, Matthew put his arm around her shoulder and said, "I'm glad you're here, Sarah. Mom will be so happy to see you." Sarah smiled, grateful for her brother's support, as they made their way home, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Matthew said, “What will you do now?" Sarah said, “ I have applied to some big companies; let's see when the interview is." Matthew said, “ I know you deserve better." Sarah smile Matthew said, “Look, ice cream." Sarah smiled and said, "Yes, please, but I don't have money." Matthew said, “Let me buy you." Sarah said, “How did you get the money?" Matthew said, “Leave all that aside and tell me which flavor." Sarah said, “ Matt," Matthew said, “It's chocolate, isn't it? Sarah smile Matthew said, “Wait here; I'll be right back." Sarah said, "Okay," ********************************* Nicholas gets a call. Nicholas said, “What happened?" Peter said, "Sir, I am resigning from my job; I have to go to my hometown, sorry." Nicholas said, “What nonsense, Peter? How will I maintain everything without an assistant?" Peter said, “Sir, I have already shortlisted some suitable people; their bio-data is on your table, and you have to interview them tomorrow." Nicholas said, “But no one will be better than you." Peter said, “Sorry, sir, but this is my compulsion." Nicholas said, "Okay." Peter said, “Thank you, sir." **************************** In the morning, Sarah receives a message on her phone and reads it. Sarah was summoned to an interview at Hill Corporation for the position of assistant to the president. Sarah gets ready and heads downstairs. Matthew asked, “Where are you going?"" I was summoned for an interview at Hill Corporation today for the position of assistant to the president. Matthew said, “What? This is good news. I’m so happy for you, Sarah. You’re going to do great!" Sarah said, “ I am employed, but I haven't started yet." Matthew asked, “In passing, who leads that organization as president?" Sarah said, “He doesn't often appear in public, so I'm not sure. If I am hired, perhaps this will help to greatly alleviate our difficulty. This organization offers a very competitive pay scale." Matthew said, “Best wishes, my sister." Sarah is grinning; walk away. *********************** Many individuals had gathered for the interview. Her confidence weakened as she saw so many people, and she tightened her grasp on the file. Even though her CV was with the president, she was worried. He heard several employees remark that the president was a serious cold man who believes that failure to complete your duties will result in your termination. Sarah was only hoping she would be chosen because this job is really essential to her. After many individuals, it is her time. She walks towards the cabin, her eyes down. She knocks on the door, and a frigid voice from inside says, "Come in." Sarah goes inside. She approaches the table and stares at the president. Her eyes widen, and she becomes nervous as the president looks at her. Sarah whispered, "Nicolas Hill," she thinks; perhaps he didn't recognize her. Sarah, fake smile. Nicholas Hill said, “Sit down. It was nice to meet you again." He smiles. "Who are you going to propose to this time?" She was peering at him coldly. Nicholas Hill said, “You've changed a lot, Sarah. Is that your name, or is it not? Do you still like me? Look, if you came here hoping that I would take pity on you and hire you, you are mistaken. I'm a serious businessman." Sarah's patience is exhausted. Sarah snatches the resume from his hands. And Sarah said, “Fuck you and your job, Nicholas fucking Hill; even if you give me your firm, I will refuse to work for you, moronic man." She starts to leave from there. Nicholas Hill said, “What is this attitude about? I can get you a job if you're willing." Sarah's feet come to a stop, and she turns to face him, furious. She comes toward him and slaps him hard. Sarah said, “How dare you? What do you think of yourself? What else is to be expected of a cheap guy like you? If there is someone I hate the most in this world, understand that it is you, and that will never change. You ruined everything, and I'll never forgive you." Nicholas was surprised; he hadn't expected this. Sarah leaves from there. Nicholas places a call. Nicholas said, “Send back all of the candidates; I've chosen my assistant." "Ok sir"The weekend passed in a blur of quality time with Nicholas and romantic moments with Sarah. On Monday morning, Nicholas reminded Sarah of an upcoming family business party."Next Saturday, we need to attend the Smith's annual gala," Nicholas said, sipping his coffee.Sarah nodded, checking her calendar. "I remember. It's a big event for your family's business."Nicholas smiled. "We'll make it a family affair. Mom, Jace, and us."Sarah's eyes sparkled. "I'll make sure to get a new dress."Nicholas chuckled. "You'll stun them all."***************************The day of the party arrived. Nicholas and Jace waited in the living room, dressed to impress.Jace, in a miniature tuxedo, giggled as Nicholas tied his own bow tie."Daddy's going to be the most handsome man there," Nicholas whispered, making Jace chuckle.Sarah emerged from their bedroom, breathtaking in a red evening gown.Nicholas's jaw dropped. "Wow."Jace cooed, reaching out for Sarah.Sarah smiled, taking Jace from Nicholas.
Every Saturday and Sunday, Olivia, Nicholas's mother, visited Jace. She'd spend hours cuddling, playing, and reading to her beloved grandson.Olivia's eyes sparkled as she entered the nursery, filled with toys and colorful mobiles."Hello, my little prince!" she exclaimed, scooping up Jace in her arms.Jace giggled, and Olivia's heart melted.Nicholas and Sarah watched, smiling, as Olivia showered Jace with love."Mom, you're spoiling him rotten," Nicholas teased.Olivia chuckled. "That's what grandmas are for!"Sarah laughed. "We don't mind. Jace loves his grandma time."As Olivia played with Jace, Nicholas couldn't help but notice the resemblance between his mother and son.The same bright smile. The same sparkling eyes."Mom, do you remember Dad's stories?" Nicholas asked, his voice filled with nostalgia.Olivia's expression softened. "Of course, sweetie. Your father was an amazing storyteller."Nicholas smiled. "I want to pass those stories down to Jace."Olivia's eyes welled up w
Nicholas and Sarah sat in their opulent living room, surrounded by plush furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline. Baby books and prenatal guides littered the coffee table, a testament to their excitement. They had just confirmed the pregnancy, and the air was electric.Sarah's hands cradled her barely visible bump, a soft smile on her face. "We're going to be parents."Nicholas's eyes sparkled, his hand covering hers. "We're going to be amazing parents."Their luxurious lifestyle ensured every possible comfort for their growing family.Their private estate, nestled in the heart of the city, would soon welcome its newest member. But as the reality of parenthood set in, anxiety crept in.Sarah worried about balancing her thriving art career and motherhood. "What if I'm not good enough?"Nicholas reassured her, "You'll be an incredible mom. We'll figure it out together. We'll hire the best nannies and staff to support us."Nicholas, meanwhile, fretted about
Sarah's face fell as she told Nicholas about the betrayal. "The head of my project, Alex, sold all the details to our rival company, Bluebird. And on the same night of your accident, Bluebird's owner, Marcus, burned down Alex's house and killed him and his family."Nicholas's eyes widened in shock. "What? Why didn't anyone do anything?"Sarah shook her head. "Andrew investigated, but there wasn't enough evidence to prove anything. Hill Cop suffered huge losses and is now bankrupt."Nicholas sighed, feeling a sense of responsibility. "I wasn't there to prevent it. This is why Hill Cop fell."Sarah looked crestfallen, but Nicholas took her hand. "Hey, business is like this. We'll start something new. How about a new cafe chain?"Sarah's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea! We can make it happen."Nicholas smiled. "We will. We'll make it bigger and better than Hill Cop. And we'll do it together."Sarah nodded, a determined look on her face. "Let's do it. Let's show them that we won't give
Dr. Smith's eyes locked onto Sarah's, his expression empathetic. "Sarah, what Nicholas experienced is called confabulation. It's a phenomenon where the brain creates false memories or stories, often due to traumatic brain injury or other forms of brain damage."Sarah's brow furrowed, her eyes filled with concern. "So, you're saying Nicholas's memories weren't real?"Dr. Smith nodded. "Exactly. When Nicholas suffered the accident, his brain's ability to process and store memories was affected. As a result, his brain started to fill in gaps in his memory with fictional information, creating false narratives that he believed to be true."Sarah's gaze drifted to Nicholas, her heart aching. "But why? Why would his brain do that?"Dr. Smith's expression softened. "Confabulation is a coping mechanism. The brain tries to make sense of missing information by creating new stories. In Nicholas's case, his brain wove a tale of time travel, a son, and a future that never existed. It was his brain'
Sarah's thoughts drifted back to the past, to the accident that had changed everything. She had forgotten her resentment towards Nicholas's family; her anger and hurt were replaced by a deep concern for him. She missed him, his laughter, his teasing, and his flirtatious smile. She missed the way he made her feel, like she was the only person in the world. As she sat there, lost in thought, Sarah realized that she had been unfair to James and Olivia. They, too, had suffered, waiting for their son to wake up. They, too, had been hurt by her harsh words, but they never retaliated. They had borne it all, for Nicholas's sake.Sarah's gaze fell on her father's grave, and she felt a sense of peace wash over her. Time heals all wounds, she thought. And who am I to hold onto grudges when the person I love is fighting for his life? With a newfound sense of resolve, Sarah decided to let go of the past. She would forgive James and Olivia and start anew. For Nicholas's sake, for their sake, she wo
