Mag-log inSienna's POV
I gently loosened the small hand clutching my shirt. Noah was fast asleep now, though his face still held a trace of worry even in his dreams. I took a deep breath and leaned down to kiss his forehead one more time before slowly rising to my feet. Each step out of the room felt heavier than the last. Even the soft sound of the door being pulled closed behind me rang like a painful ending. I had never imagined returning to this house only to read a bedtime story and thenSienna’s POV“Okay” I said at last trying to calm my shaking voice “I will go to the campus today and talk about this in person.”“Sure, ma'am. Please go to the campus office.”The phone call stopped. For a bit, I stayed in the same place, looking forward without truly seeing nothing. The low sound still rang softly in my ears, like it did not want to go away. The home felt super silent. My hand placed the phone back where it goes. The simple move felt hard, like my body needed more work just to do things. Then my legs got weak. I almost fell to the ground, if I didn’t catch the side of the table next to me in time.My hands gripped it, like it was the only thing holding me up. “That’s not possible,” I said softly, moving my head side to side. How can it be? Noah went from the house each day. I seen him with my own eyes!I heard his steps each morning. I saw the door o
Sienna’s POVThat afternoon the house was really quiet. I was sitting in the living room with a cup of tea in my hand. The tea had been sitting there for a while. The steam was gone. The surface of the tea was still which made the room feel quieter. Sunlight was coming through the windows shining on the marble floor and the garden outside. It looked like a day.. It felt too quiet. The quiet was nice. It was also a little scary. There were no footsteps, no doors opening or closing, just the sound of the clock ticking on the wall. It was a reminder that time was still moving.Liam was at his office like he always is at this time. He is always busy, always working.Noah should be at school. At least that is what I thought.I took a breath trying to enjoy the quiet. I had a weird feeling that I had been having for days. Then the phone rang. The sound was loud. It made me jump a little.
Sienna’s POVLiam picked up his tablet.“Boys his age are like that, they try things. Figure out what they like."His words sounded really light like this was a normal thing that would pass on its own. I looked at him for a second hoping to see some concern on his face. There was none. Liam still looked calm too calm for something like this.I started to say something. He stopped me.“Sienna."He looked at me gently. I could see he was firm about this. His tone was not loud, not forceful. It was enough to make me stop.“Stop worrying!" he said.I did not say anything.“You are overthinking it.”Those words should have made me feel better like this was not something to worry about. They did not. My chest felt tight like something was pressing against me.I wanted to argue I wanted to say this was not just
Sienna’s POVThat night it was getting late when I heard the front door open.I was sitting in the living room. I turned around right away. The house was so quiet that even the smallest sound seemed loud. The clock on the wall said it was eleven at night. The light from the chandelier made the room feel warm. Also a little lonely. The television was still on in front of me. I was not paying attention to it.My mind was else.Over the few weeks something had changed. I do not know what it was. It made me feel uneasy every night.I heard footsteps coming from the entrance. They were heavy and slow like someone was really tired.I stood up when Noah finally came inside."Noah, are you just getting home again?"Noah only nodded a bit without really looking at me. He seemed exhausted.Under the living room lights I could see his face clearly
Noah's POV I took a breath and leaned against the car for a moment but my mind had already moved far beyond just this track. Because this was one of three things I had to do painting, racing and one last thing that was just as difficult.Boxing. My hands clenched unconsciously as I thought about it knowing that the last part wouldn’t be easy to get through.Maybe it would be the hardest of them all. I had no choice except to keep moving forward. If this was what I had to do to prove something then I would finish it no matter how far I had to go.Sweat dripped from my chin onto the ring floor. My breathing felt heavy as if something was pressing against my chest from the inside.I raised my gloves in front of my face. I tried to stay focused. My opponent stood a step away ready to strike. The coach stood at the side of the ring watching every movement closely, his sharp eyes missing nothing. "Don’t drop your g
Noah's POVThe engine was really loud on the training track. I pushed the gas pedal down more. Felt the strong vibration of the engine all the way to my fingertips. The wind hit my helmet visor as the car went through a curve. The track was not very big. It was tough enough. The asphalt was a bit rough with sharp turns that made the driver stay focused. My hands held the steering wheel tightly. Focus.I slowed down a bit before the turn then turned the wheel fast. The tires screeched loudly. My body was pushed to the side by centrifugal force but I kept the car steady. However as I exited the turn something happened. The car in front of me suddenly slowed down. I slammed on the brakes. The tires screeched louder this time. My car almost hit the back of it a few centimeters apart. My heart was pounding hard.My reflexes kicked in away as I jerked the wheel to the left avoiding the collision just in time. My car
Sienna’s POV Noah's words made me burst into sheer happiness. With ease, Noah could fill the air between us and make our home feel like a new place in heaven. For a moment, Mrs. Wilson looked at me like I was saying something.I could see her gratitude through her gentle smile. The f
Sienna's POV Upon finishing the phone call, I felt warm and cozy inside. I sat on the front porch once more, sipping hot tea. Small birds swarmed the trees, and schoolchildren's laughter played out loud in the distance. My tea was slowly ingested. The taste was soothing. The garden w
Sienna's POV “For helping. I hesitated, but I had to push forward and be here." He looked at him with a soft voice. “You don’t have to thank me, Sienna.” I inhaled a small breath. I had a longing to say something that was deep inside me, but the words were st
Sienna's POV I smooch at the shiny oven door, staring into the mirror. I used to look heavier, but now my face looks softer than it did before. I had not seen such a small smile in ages.Liam suddenly slipped my mind. His eyes remained vividly in the memory of his farewell. Something tha
