Her eyes tell

AYLAN:

I looked outside my car's window, watching as people, cars, and trees pass before my eyes, The sun was setting taking my breath as its sun rays reflected on the green trees. It was so beautiful. I smiled, opening the window; I exhaled, closing my eyes lightly as the fresh air hit my face, the amazing scent hitting my nostrils. How beautiful nature is? How beautiful my home is?

I can't help but think about how time flows fast, how life changes without us noticing, it feels just like yesterday when I had nothing to eat, no shelter and now look where I am. Happy, safe, and sound, with a lovely small family waiting for me home. I get what I want and even what I don't want, this is the secret of life, it turns and turns until we find ourselves in a whole new situation and state.

My phone buzzed in my pocket with the Id "Mama" calling, I smiled answering the call.

"Hello, mother, missed me?" I said, chuckling softly. I heard a faint exhale.

"Why weren't you picking up your phone, you careless, stupid boy, you know how much I worry about you, Aylan," I smiled at her scolding.

"How many times do I have to tell you that your son is a big guy, now, you don't need to worry about me," I bit my lip knowing what would be her answer. It was always like this.

"Of course, I am too old for this, I can't wait-" I interrupted her, "No, mom, I don't need to marry," I said chuckling. I bet she is fuming right now."

She stayed silent. Oh, my so predictable mother.

"I miss you, son. When will you come?" She muttered a hint of sadness in her sweet voice. She doesn't know I was coming, great!

"Soon, I need to finish up a little stuff and then I will run into my mother's arms," I said softly, telling her the words that she loves to hear. You can't blame me, I am mama's boy.

She chuckled softly and replied:" Anyway, just stay safe and eat well, my sweet Yaya." she quickly hung up.

Damn! Yaya, I swear I will be the joke of the year if anyone hears her call me that ugly nickname, ew!

I smiled softly at my phone, like a fool. I can't even explain how much I miss my mother, it's been a whole fifteen days after all. Just wait a few minutes, Aylan, only a few minutes.

"Sir, look there," said Amayas, my driver, breaking me from my thoughts.

"What?" He pointed to a dark alley.

"Stop the car," I ordered.

There on a corner is a bunch of what looked like teenagers gathered around a petite girl, her brown tall hair was a mess, she had bruises all over her face, she reminded me of that girl.

They threw all her clothes to the ground with one guy holding an empty bag, and a blue scarf. While she stood there, glaring at them. What's wrong with her? Why isn't she fighting them?

I quickly got out of the car and run towards her.

"Stop!" I shouted all heads turned towards me. They hurry out of there, leaving me and her alone. I froze, it was like time stopped working.

I felt my heart sink at her miserable state. I closed my eyes so tight clenching my fists.

"What happened to you?" I opened my eyes and fixed gazes with her.

She quickly picked that blue scarf and wrapped it around her gorgeous hair.

That scarf! It's really her. I found her.
