On the night of my anniversary with Lawson, I found transfers on his phone that I did not recognize. The recipient of the money was his old flame. For a decade, he had sent her more than a hundred thousand dollars on the fifteenth of every month. I showed him the records and demanded an explanation. He was signing documents and nonchalantly said, "She was once pregnant with my pup, but she lost it because of a pack conflict. I owe her that much. Don't worry. Other than this, I won't give her any resources from the pack as compensation." I cried, argued, and went to my friends to vent. They tried to talk me down. "It's only a few hundred thousand dollars. Lawson is the Alpha of the largest pack. Even if he gave you that amount, you would think it was too little." "You'll be his Luna. The most important thing is to protect your status. Are you really going to lose your composure over an ex?" I thought about the bonding ceremony we were supposed to hold at the Full Moon Festival next month, and about the decade Lawson and I had spent together. So, I gave in. Then I discovered that every noon, the housekeeper would prepare a pup's meal and send it to Lawson's office. I stopped her with a frown and asked what was going on. The housekeeper was stunned. "Miss Monica, wasn't this prepared for your pup? That pup is already six. Every time he sees the Alpha, he calls him Dad."

Chapter 1

The housekeeper realized she had said the wrong thing. She immediately bowed deeply and begged me, "I don't know anything, Miss Monica! Please show mercy!"

My whole body went stiff as I forced a smile. "Don't be nervous."

I helped her up and had her sit on the couch.

She nodded, her face pale.

"Tell me. When did this start?" I asked, keeping my tone gentle.

"Last month," she said.

Last month… I was in the south on pack business. I had even clashed with werewolves from other. packs because of this

I called Lawson and asked him to send reinforcements, but he simply frowned and said, "I'm busy too. Keep your temper in check and handle it properly. Don't get yourself hurt out there."

I had to handle it alone. In the end, I was still injured in the conflict.

I did my best to control my emotions and kept asking. "How old is the pup?"

"He's six. His tastes and temper are exactly like the Alpha's," she answered.

My heart skipped a beat. Lawson and I had already been together for ten years. Yet he had a pup who was so much like him... I thought of the cakes, desserts, and snacks in the refrigerator.

They were all things pups liked.

I never touched sweets.

After a long silence, I took the housekeeper's hand to comfort her. "You came here with me, didn't you?"

"Yes, Miss Monica. Please don't send me away. If I leave the pack, I won't know what to do," she began to sob.

I said nothing. She had taken care of me for years. She was attentive, knew my tastes, and had never complained about my requests. I had grown used to her taking care of my daily life. I even helped her raise her pup and sent him to the best academy money could afford.

But I never thought Lawson would make someone beside me serve his pup.

When I stayed silent, her head hung low again. "Miss Monica, please let me stay! I won't do it again! If the Alpha asks anything of me in the future, I'll tell you first!"

"With your back straight," I said with a sigh. "I'll deliver today's lunch."

I picked up the warm lunchbox, but my heart had already gone cold. I still had not fully processed what I had learned.

When I reached Lawson's office, I called him first. He hung up and texted that he was in a meeting.

But the meeting room was empty.

I heard movement inside his office, so I reached for the door. Before I could open it, the door opened from inside.

The pup in front of me stared at me with wide eyes, a forceful aura coming off him. He was exactly like Lawson.

"Did they change servants today?" he asked, then took the lunchbox from my hand as if it belonged to him. Then he sat in the office and waited for me to open it for him. He sat on the desk, taking apart Lawson's priceless watch and casually stamping the pack seal onto his clothes.

"What are you staring at? Feed me." The pup ordered me around with an arrogant look.

I stood still and stared at what he was holding. That pack seal was used for important documents. Usually, I had to ask Lawson repeatedly when I needed it for contracts before he would stamp them for me.

Now it was being treated like a toy in a pup's hand.

My chest tightened. It hurt so bad I could not speak. All I felt was grief.

When he saw that I still had not moved, the pup lost his temper. He threw the broken-down watch straight at me. "Are you deaf? I told you to feed me!"

I dodged, and it missed.

The pup grew even angrier. He jumped down from the desk, lunged at me, and bit my arm. I stepped back in pain, but he bit down harder.
