she cracked a joke about her hips not needing anymore calories. I glared at her , i could tell she wasnt being completely truthful, she brought her eyes up to mine fleetingly and smiled,

She was tired I could tell, she tried to be light hearted and playful but careful not to sit too near or make eye contact with anybody, i wanted to grab her chin and force her to stare in my eyes, those bright blue eyes that id only gotten fleeting glances of. shed lived a hard life and the small amount of untoned stomach protruding under her top indicated shed carried a pup or two, i wanted to encircle her in my arms and tell her Daddy is here now and i will take care of you.

she needed that, i could tell even if she couldnt.

"Come" i said firmly "lets get you something to eat, cant travel on an empty stomach"

she thanked me and told me id given her plenty that my generosity was too much.

"im not asking, I wont sleep tonight knowing your out here unfed and weakness stopping you from making good decisions about which drivers to accept a ride from."

"well then who am i to stop a driver getting a good sleep"

she grabbed her small suitcase and stood up, i walked her inside and told her to choose what ever she wanted as i ordered my regular steak eggs and chips, a chiko role she orders.

I growl " that is not a meal."

She tells me she recently lost a lot of weight her stomach has shrunk and anything larger would be a waste of food and money, she lives on a diet of meat salad and yoghurt, the chiko roll is a treat. i relent and make the purchase,

"Join me while we eat" i was desperate to learn more about her where she come from why she was headed north, anything to keep her talking and keep her near.

shes a good conversationalist she tells me she come from a job trial in Melbourne and headed to bundy where her family awaits, shes careful not to give out too many details, she makes me laugh with her antics in stories of places she has worked and people she has met.

i place my knife and fork down, i nod toward her bag, "can get you a set of keys for a shower if you like?

" i appreciate it she says but i havent got any clean clothes left so im just waiting till i get home.

"cmon i can fix that too"

she balks, before putting her shoulders back and saying "i really appreciate your generosity and kindness but i dont like to owe anybody" she frowns "and if this wasnt generosity or kindness" she indicates the wrapper on the table " please know im not that way inclined and if you give me your bank details id me more than happy to recompensate you when i get paid."

i Stare at her, she thinks im paying in advance for her company in my bed, what the fuck has happened to her to make her think that way. probably best i dont know for blood will definately be drawn.

"thats fucked up" i say.

"thats life" she retorts.

"I dont want anything from you" i lie, because i do, i want her writhing beneath me screaming Daddy as i send her into the oblivion of pleasure, but not like that, not bought like a cow at the markets.

" i Just want to help a fellow human being." i lower my voice "im not headed where you are but i can make your wait more comfortable."

she eyes me suspiciously then her features soften and she says " alright then, i accept some good karma" we head out to the laundry reserved for drivers and she puts her washing through the washer and dryer, while we wait we consume more jack daniels and smoke more cigarettes and talk like weve known each other a lot longer than four hours, she has an incredible sense of humour and amazing story telling skills, when her washing is done i obtain her a key to the bathrooms and she takes a shower. returning to the table and again entertaining the whole area.

midnight roles around and i look at her

"doesnt look like your getting a ride tonight, you can shack up in my truck for the night start again in the morning." her face drops, fuck she thinks i want my payment.

"not like that" i exclaim. "i wont touch you i just thought itd be safe" and i know you could use the sleep"
