CHAPTER 3

Knocking on the door, that is after calming myself down because of the messy situation that just happened.

“Come in”

“Hello ma’am, I’m new here, I am to get my locker number and also my class schedule here”

“Oh, you’re Ash right, the new student” she asks

“Yes ma’am”

But not to seem like a rude person, I did not point out that the fact that I just told her that I’m new.

“Just call me Mrs. Palma” she tells me, handing me my class schedule and my locker key which has my locker number on it.

“Okay ma”

“So, that’s your class schedule, we were told that you only AP classes in science and two electives” she tells me, which sounds more like question, seems like she doesn’t believe I can do well because of the statement she made next.

“But, it is not too late to switch to normal classes” she tells me, trying to counsel me, not that I asked for any.

“I’m okay with this schedule” I tell her, getting impatient.

She eyes me, I think she is trying to judge me by my looks, wearing a black baggy trousers and black crop top with my hair in high pony-tail, I know it doesn’t give the vide of a smart boy, but what about the proverb of not judging the book by its cover.

“If you say so, but if you have any problem catching up, just come here before it is too late” she tells me.

“Thanks, I will keep that in mind” I tell her, trying my best to hide away how annoyed I am.

Leaving her office, I close the door.

I try to calm myself down because of all the things that have already happened this morning.

My impression here so far has not been good, from my father rushing me, to that dumbass at the stairs, then the guy in the elevator, then that asshat who was trying to bully me, now to someone who was belittling and judging me from my looks.

It is not like they have rules on the type on clothing to wear and not to wear.

Rushing back to the elevator, to take to the 2nd floor since when I asked around in the morning it seems like it is for sophomores.

Getting inside the elevator and pressing the floor I’m going to, I look at my class schedule, well nine classes does not seem bad.

I have AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, Statistics, Arts, AP English, Spanish, AP Physics C:Mechanics, AP English Language, AP World History.

Looking at my class schedule, I realize that, I have all my courses today except for one which is Spanish, which I have tomorrow morning.

Rushing out of the elevator when it got to the 2nd floor and down to my AP English class, opening the door of the classroom, I try to enter only for the teacher to call me back and tell me to leave the class

I tell her that it is my first time and that I was not able to get my class schedule on time which is partly a lie and partly true.

“If you knew you were going to get some things before also, I think as a good student, you should have come to the school earlier to get it done”

“Yes ma”

“I’m not going to bother you because it is your first time, but don’t expect me to do that another time”

“Just go and find some empty place to sit, and please do it quietly” she tells me, going back to her teachings, not bothering to ask for my name or introduce me to the class which I definitely do not mind, in fact, I like it.

“Thank you ma”

It is not as if me coming late to class is my problem, I just happen to be very luck this morning, to meet a lot of obstacles on my way, and I’m sure, if I had taken the stairs w\hen coming, I would have seen more.

The time flew by, and before I know it, it was already five minutes to the end of the class, since the class has started since two weeks ago.

It seems like they have been told to prepare for a short test for today, like who will give students test two weeks after resumption, not like it is affects me.

“Hey” she calls out, looking directly at me, but not really sure if it is me she is calling or the person behind me.

“Yeah, you looking at the back, in a black crop top”

“Oh me” I say, pointing to myself

“Yeah you” she says again, which makes some students to chuckle.

“Since you just resumed you won’t know what I have taught, and again you were not aware of the test, I will excuse you, in turn I will give you an assignment to submit on Wednesday” she tells me

“Okay ma’am” I tell her, not bothered with that fact.

After distributing the question paper, they are given the rest of the time to do the test.

She collects the paper from them immediately the bell rang, and gives me a paper for my assignment to be submitted on Wednesday.

I look at the assignment to notice it was an argumentative writing on one of the chapters of out required textbook.

At the least, it is from our textbook, not from ancient books, which will require me to do a lot of research that I am not really ready to do.

After three classes, I finally have my lunch time, from three of my classes, I have two assignments to do, and one test to be done next week, in short, I am to be heavily loaded with work.

Walking out of my third class, which was Statistics, I walk towards the cafeteria. Holding some of my books in my hand to put in my locker before I am bumped by someone which makes all of them fall to the ground.

“Gosh, what the fuck” I exclaim, but saying nothing after that, I pick up my books

“I’m so sorry, I’m sorry” the person pleads repeatedly

“No problem, just fucking watch where you’re going next time” I tell the person, picking up my books and look up to see a beautiful girl with a small height, like 5’4 I think

“Okay, I’m so sorry for bumping into you” she tells me, apologetically.

“No problem” I tell her, again

For a small person, she sure has a lot of strength, like the saying goes, small but mighty, I don’t know if that is a saying though.

“By the way you were a total badass this morning” she tells me, her eyes sparkling mischievously.
