CHAPTER 4

“uhn” I mutter in confusion.

“Yeah, I was there this afternoon, I went to see my sister, she is a senior” she tells me, explaining herself and telling me the details I do not think I need.

“Oh”

“Yeah, it was total badass anyways, I think it is the high time someone stood up to him” she tells me, waving her hands frantically to buttress her point.

“Why?” I ask her, intrigued with what she said.

“So this is a long story, I will tell you more when we sit down” she tells me as we enter the cafeteria.

There is nothing bad knowing your potential enemy.

She queues with me even though I can see that she has her lunch box with me, I really hope I don’t regret not bringing my lunch box, my old school’s food was not really bad, it was good some days, and the opposite some other days

Seems like we are here early, so I didn’t have to queue for a long period of time, I collected my food and went to get a sit with the girl whose name I seem to have forgotten.

“He is a sophomore” she starts,

“wait, he is a SOPHOMORE” I ask, laying emphasis on the sophomore.

“Yeah a sophomore, it seems like he was called to the office this morning for something he did last week I think”

“Woah” I mutter, eating my food

She opens her lunch box but did not make any attempt to start eating.

“So, freshmen year, I mean last year for us, right, he was going to be bullied by a senior because he didn’t give way for the senior to pass, like the rest did, the senior, I think his name is Dexter, he was a bully, a well known bully” she tells me, then pauses to start eating her food

“Even though I hate bullies, I cannot in my life do anything to challenge or fight them” she adds, sighing.

“Uhn hn”

She stops eating her sandwich for a while to continue her story.

“Well, he could not take someone bullying him so he taught the Senior a lesson he would never forget in his entire life, he was later suspended for like 3 weeks, and also the senior, almost affected him” she tells me, picking up her remaining sandwich to eat

“Oh wow, so why is that why everyone fears him now?”

“Yeah, one of the reasons, and he really doesn’t like physical contact, honestly though, I don’t know he became a bully also, ‘cause he was not like that at the beginning of the freshmen year, he suddenly is like this immediately after the new year” she concludes her story, shrugging as she says the last part.

“Maybe something happened at home?” I ask her

“Maybe, maybe not” she says disinterestedly

“Yeah, maybe, maybe not”

“Yeah” she says enthusiastically

“You are a sophomore right” she asks me, I don’t really want to answer that question but, it sounds stupid, do I only nod my head.

“Right?” she asks again, beating the table to call my attention because I am looking at the direction where some girls are giggling

“Fuck…yes” I yelp out, mortified she will do something like that knowing the fact that there is a coke on the table, which has spilled to my cloth

“sorry” she say, looking at me sheepishly

“no problem” I tell her, looking at her, seeing how guilty and cute she is, how can one get angry at someone like her.

“Who are those girls, and why are they glaring at this side” I ask her, because if looks could kill, I would be 6 feet under by now.

“Don’t give them any attention, that’s what they want they like to see themselves as goddesses, not to be touched, like queens” she tells me, looking at them also irritated.

“I don’t think I’ve done anything for them to glare at me like they want me six feet under” I tell her, now confused

“You made quite the grand entrance or rather impression with what you pulled this morning with their ‘King’” she tells me, putting air quotes mentioning king.

“Is he not a bully” I ask her, finishing my food

“He definitely his, one that you avoid at that” she tells me, also taking the last bite of her sandwich.

“Then why are they glaring” I ask her, now confused

“It is like idols or celebrities, you’ve ‘claimed’ them even though you know you can’t have them” she tells me, putting air quotes on the claimed.

“Then they are fucking stupid, if they are glaring at me because of someone that bullies people, and they can’t even have” I tell her, glancing at them, to realize that they are still glaring at me.

“and the bitches are coming” she whispers

“Uoh uoh” I whisper back
