LOGINCrystal's POV
Just who the hell is this Lyra? And how is it possible that everyone can't tell that I'm an entirely different person from her? Can I really be her doppelganger, or what in the next level bullshit is this? I squeeze my eyes shut, taking a really deep breath to summon whatever last control I have left in my body. And it works. The room stops spinning for a moment. "You have the wrong person. I'm not Lyra!" Too bad! My words come out slurred, and I want to hit myself for taking too much alcohol. "Really?" His eyebrow—the one with the scar—lifts slightly in amusement. Then his gaze drops to my mouth, then lower, dragging slowly over my cleavages, down to where my thighs press together. When he looks back up, there's heat in his eyes. Dark and dangerous. “Pretending to be someone else won't work on me, Lyra.” He scoffs, flicking my hair slightly. “You even dyed your hair black? Really?” I roll my eyes. This man isn't just hot. He must be deaf too. Grinding my teeth, I snarl. “Can you just listen—” My words die in my throat as he whisks me off my feet, starting towards the bed. “I'm going to ruin you so badly you'll never think of running away from me again.” He says hoarsely. Panic grips me. Oh Goddess. No! I struggle to wriggle out of his arms, but of course,e it's of no use. This man is a strong mass of muscles. His strong arms wrap tightly around my waist as he sets me down on the bed gently. He climbs over me, pinning me down on the bed and holding up his weight with his arms. His lips find the nape of my neck, trailing soft wet kisses that make my stomach flip and tighten in ways Ethan hasn't managed in years. When his fingers find my bare thighs, fire trails along my sensitive nerves. My core starts to throb restlessly, warm heat pooling below. No! This doesn't feel right. A total stranger shouldn't make me feel this way. "I missed you so fucking much. You have no idea." He whispers against mearrs, his fingers working on my body. Goddess! I need to stop him, or I'm going to lose my freaking mind to pleasure. "What the hell are you doing?" I manage a protest. "This is a crime! I'm not Lyra!" "You're drunk!” He laughs. “And yes, you're not Lyra right now. You're the little kitten that's going to be wrecked thoroughly by me tonight!” I'm about to throw a punch at his face as my last resort, but his fingers move suddenly, slipping beneath my gown, past my lacy pantie,s and brushing against my fold. "Fuck!" A moan tears out of my throat, shameless and unhinged. "Apparently, you don't like what I'm doing to you, but you're already drenched from wanting me,” he croaks, his breath hot against my skin. I want to retort. I swear, I want to. But he's already stroking my core, making my mind blow out momentarily. I squeeze my eyes, my body arching and my toes curling. I shouldn't enjoy this! It's all so wrong. But his touch just feels so good. Too good. Maybe this is what I need to do to forget all about Ethan and Serena. It's just one night of fun. How bad can it get? So, yeah. I let myself get lost in the heat and pleasure thrashing through my body. He growls in satisfaction at my submission, a smirk creeping up his face as he rids me of my clothing. His body stiffens as my boobs bounce free. “You're so fucking gorgeous, Lyra!” He breathes, hunger flickering in his eyes. He grabs my breast, nuzzling between them. Then, he thumbs my nipples until they tighten to agonizing points. He suckles the first one, then the other, before moving down my body to kiss my belly. My core tingles with anticipation. I want this man! Hell! I can almost howl at this point. As if on cue, he kisses his way up to my lips. And it's nothing soft. Just fire, passion, and hot white need. His tongue slides down my throat, drawing from my mouth as his life depends on it. I return his kiss with the same intensity, running my fingers through his hair down to his chest. When he breaks the kiss, the room is spinning. His body is also trembling like he can't handle the heat any more than I can. Pressing himself tightly against me, he yanks his towel, letting me touch him— his thick, veiny length. I guided him into me,e and when he settled against my soft, wet core, I fold and unfold. Then he starts to move, thrusting in and out— slow at first. But he soon quickens his pace. “Argh!” I moan, throwing my head back and fisting the sheets. My legs tremble non-stop, and I have to wrap them around his waist as passion threatens to pull me apart. He choked out a gasp, closing his eyes as he thrust even harder. "Oh, fuck!" I can't stop the screams. "You feel so good, Lyra. So good." He groans, voice husky with pleasure. My core starts to spasm around his length just at the same time his thrusts grow wilder, his body boiling. "Fuck, Lyra!" He growls as his body convulses on top of me, shooting spikes of warm liquid inside me. Heat crashes through my body as I hit orgasm. “Oh, yes! Yes!” I implode. THE NEXT MORNING; Sunlight hits my face, snapping me out of my sleep. It's the most peaceful sleep I've had in four years. I feel like I travelled to paradise and came back. Wait! Where am I? The room comes into focus slowly—the massive window, the expensive interior decor, my lingerie hanging from a lampshade. I jerk off on the bed. Shit! Holy shit! What have I done? The man is still on the bed, sleeping soundly. My head is spinning. Did I really just have the best sex of my life with a total stranger? Self-resentment fills me, but the deed has been done already. I need to get out of here. Fast! Before he wakes up and starts calling me "Lyra" again. I quickly grab his shirt from the floor and put it on. "I hope I never see him again., I mutter quietly, throwing one last look at him before slipping out of the room. **** It's been two full days since my fallout with Ethan. Two full days since that extraordinary night with the hot stranger. And yet, I still can't get it out of my head. It was everything I wanted— heat, passi,on and need. Everything Ethan could never give me. Speaking of Ethan, that bastard blew up my phone with numerous calls, telling me to come back. It was so bad I had to change my phone. The truth is, as much as I want to file for a proper divorce, I have no money to hire a good lawyer. Basically, I'm penniless. "You're seriously not gonna go late for the interview, are you?" Olivia yelled from the living room, snapping me out of my thoughts Right! I forgot to mention Olivia. At this point, I practically call her “my saviour”. Because of course, she is. The moon goddess must have finally realized that she gave me more misfortune than anyone can handle— omega rank, wolfless, no family. So, yeah. I was lucky enough to meet Olivia again. We were friends in high school, but we lost contact after straveledled out of the Silvercrest Pack. When we bumped into each other two days ago, and she heard what went down between Ethan and me, she offered to let me move in with her. And even better? Her uncle is currently the head of the HR department at J&J Firms, the company I previously worked for. Fortunately for me, there's a job opening. The company's getting a new CEO, and he'll be needing a secretary. Olivia's uncle recommended me for the job, and the interview is this morning with the CEO himself. "Coming, Olivia!" I squeal as I throw one final look at my reflection in the mirror. At exactly 8 am, I'm already seated in the CEO's reception room, waiting for his arrival. "Miss Crystal Bennette?" A smooth professional voice calls. I look up to see the receptionist. "The CEO will attend to you now." She informs me, walking away before I can ask further questions. Taking a deep breath, I brace myself for whatever outcome the interview is going to take. With graceful strides and—well, jumpy nerves, I make my way to the CEO's office. I ring the doorbell, and the door slides open. I walk in, plastering a smile on my face. A man is seated there in an expensive suit, seemingly engrossed with his computer.qq The office smells faintly of musk cologne and— My breath catches. That scent. It smells so familiar. As if on cue, the man looks up from his computer. And… my stomach drops violently. It's him! The man from two nights ago, who had me howling all night with pleasure. Wait! Is he the new CEO?Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the hype. I checked out the new stocks before he even told me about that; if only he knew how attracted I am to new stocks.“What’s wrong?”“It’s been a while, and you know how much it takes to be what you are right now, but giving her that promotion on a free platter seems too kind.”“You know I can’t let you have a third cup; we’ve still got a long day ahead of us…” He stopped immediately when someone knocked on the door.“Mr. Kieran.”“Who are you and what do you want?” I asked, belching afterward, before turning my eyes to her; he signaled me to go sit down behind my table. He figured out that the wine’s effects had started showing.“Well, we heard of the benefits you’re giving us, the owne
Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be carrying a burden that’s not meant for you.” I advised her before ushering her into the back of the truck.“I felt so nervous watching you speak to another lady, and I hate that feeling.” She confessed before turning her eyes back to her phone.I thought about Lyra’s friend and the review she asked me to make to support her book and make it a good read for everyone. She wants the media to promote her work, and I have no choice because I’d have to keep my word.We arrived at the office, and she was standing there, looking frustrated.“I thought we had a deal.”“Come with us, Olivia. There’s no reason to cause a fuss because it’s not worth it; you want a review? Then follow us.” Lyra spoke to
Crystal POV I never expected Kieran to act like that. He pushed the man away like he was trying to take something very valuable from him. He was only having a conversation, and the moment he tried to touch me, I saw the man on the ground and Kieran dragging me to the car. He agreed to stop at the cafe because he was famished, as I was. Treating ourselves to a breakfast treat isn’t a bad idea. “Why are you both staying back beside the SUV?” I asked as they got out, but didn’t want to walk with us. “Come with us, get a table, and order what you want. He’s going to pay.” I chuckled, acting like I never knew he was still pissed. While getting seated, his phone was beeping with calls, and I wondered why. I checked the schedules and realized we had no meetings today, so why would the receptionist be calling?“What’s wrong?”“Ma, there’s a woman here by the name Olivia, she’s saying that our boss has to send a review of her book to the press, and he hasn’t done that. She’s pissed, but I
Kieran POv When we arrived at the courthouse, I was relieved that there were no reporters at the entrance of the courthouse. I noticed that Lyra’s countenance changed the moment she got out of the SUV. She quickly wrapped the scarf around her head and her face, leaving only her eyes visible to the public. No one would joke that she’s the one. I figured she did that because of the reporters. “Go in there and let Judge Johnson know that we’re here to see him. Enso Blackwood is the name you’d give to him.”“Other people are waiting to see him.”“Do I look like other people? Do what you’re told, or my guards will help you do your job.” He agreed to my request because he knows that if my guard stormed into the courtroom, it would cause a little chaos, and he might lose his job in respect to that. “Wait here.” He walked into the courtroom slowly while I kept my eyes around and turned to the reception hallway, where the guard mentioned people were waiting to see Judge Johnson. Ethan wa
Kieran POVI had to adjust myself before heading down to the dining table. My father, his beta, and Lyra were already seated without me.“Apple stew?” I was shocked that someone actually made this. No one makes better apple stew than my late mother. I ate in silence as we all did; my father didn’t say a word, and I knew why he was doing this. He didn’t want us to talk about Valeria in front of his Beta and Lyra. Why would I talk about a woman I don’t love? After the meal, Lyra went to bed and didn’t say a word to me. She dozed off in my arms, and I woke up in the morning to discover that she wasn’t in bed with me. “Lyra,” I called her name, but heard no response. I got up from bed, stretched out my arms, and got into the washroom,m but she wasn’t there. I wondered if she had left the house. I was surprised to see her running back into the house through the front gate. She went for an early morning run to wherever, and she got me worried at some point.Lyra has never woken up to
Ethan’s POV I drove to one of the city's largest law firms to see my lawyer. He’s an old friend of mine, and keeping him by my side through this divorce is the best way to keep that ugly urchin in check. “Barrister Smith. How’re you doing?”“What are you doing here?”“I’m here because of the divorce,e and you know we have to make it a lot harder for her to make her work for me,” I explained to him, watching his hand grasp for the bottle of whiskey. I stopped to observe him for a while, then noticed he was drunk and had a picture on his phone. “What’s wrong, Barrister?” I inquired as he was about to grab his pho,ne but I stopped him and wondered why he’d be drinking whiskey at this time of the day.“Come on, what’s going on here?”“I’ve been a divorce attorney for more than a decade, enjoying a happy married life,e and now I’m going through my own divorce.” I was shocked when he turned his phone screen so I could see a video of his wife and another man on a boat cruise. “You’re ab
