MasukCrystal's POV
Oh. My. Goddess.
The world just fucking stops spinning. Time stops. My breath stops.
I blink. Then blink again, but he's still right there on the seat, looking no less god-like than he did that night, with one exception—now he looks a whole lot scarier.
There's this scowl on his sexy face like he's about to murder someone. Maybe me?
I clear my throat awkwardly, bracing myself. "Good morning, sir."
If I thoughthe wouldl answer me, then I'm greatly mistaken. He doesn't utter a word, just keeps staring at me, his eyes piercing through my skin, like he's stripping me naked.
I shift uneasily on my feet, my heels suddenly feeling too tight. The air in the room shifts, becoming thicker and more congested.
His Alpha aura is so large and too intimidating that I feel small and insignificant in his presence.
And the fact that he isn't even saying anything?
Holy heavens! He's so unbearable. My palms are growing clammy as I stand there like a total fool, sweat pooling on my forehead.
I mentally start counting to ten, half-considering bolting out of the office and never looking back.
"Crystal Bennette?" His voice cuts into my mind.
And damn! I have to stifle the moan that escapes my throat. The way he says my name with that deep baritone, drawly and thick with amusement.
Or is it a surprise?
Either way, I will be damned if I said my pussy didn't just clench to the sound of him. And visions of the other night crash into my mind without warning.
His kisses. His touch. The way his eyes sparkled with dirty mischief as he slid inside of me. The feel of his body as we moved together as one.
Dear goddess, the way he held me after it was all over, like I was—
Damn it, Crystal! Get a fucking grip!
I cut out my nasty thoughts, swallowing hard as I force myself to focus on anything other than the heat pooling between my thighs.
My gaze drops to the nameplate on his desk, desperate for a distraction. Bold letters stare back at me: "Kieran Blackwood ."
That name. It sounds so familiar. Like I've heard it somewhere before, in a magazine maybe, or even on TV.
My brain scrambles to remember, to connect the dots, but I can't.
"Is this a fucking game to you?" I jerk around to the sound of his voice so close to my ears.
A violent shudder rips through me. When did he even move?
Before I can think too much about it, he backs me up against the door, his breath hot against my neck, wreaking havoc on my body.
"Are you ignoring me, Lyra?" His voice is low, almost a growl.
"No, I'm not, sir." I manage, my voice barely audible. "And I'm not Su—"
"What the hell are you doing here for real?" He cuts me off.
"After running away from me two days ago and blocking all forms of contact?" His gaze pins me down, dark and unforgiving.
"Explain yourself."
" I- uhm—" my voice breaks as I rack my brain for the right words.
But, fuck! He's so close. Too close and it's distracting.
I can feel the heat of his body and his musky, masculine, and intoxicating scent. It's doing unholy things to my body.
My pulse is racing so fast I'm sure he can hear it. I can't concentrate. Hell! I can barely breathe.
"Can we just start the interview and get it done and over with?" I manage to say, my lips quivering.
He pauses, his gaze dropping lower, scanning my body with an intensity that makes my stomach flip.
Then a slow, wicked smile curves his lips.
"Are you sure?" He breathes against my ear. "Because I can smell your filthy arousal from here."
My face burns. Heat explodes across my cheeks, and I want to die right here on the spot. I want the ground to open up and swallow me whole.
Because hell! He's so fucking right. I've never been so turned on in my life.
But I'll rather die than admit that.
"I have no idea what you mean." I keep my voice steady, trying to sound firm, even though my body is betraying me.
"I feel nothing for you, sir. I just want to get this interview over with and leave."
He leans in, his mouth hovering dangerously close to my ear. "You didn't sound like someone who felt nothing for me two nights ago when you had my full length buried deep inside you."
I suck in a sharp breath, my face burning hotter than a thousand suns. But I'm not about to back down.
"That night was a mistake, Mr. Steele. I wasn't in my right senses. It'll never repeat it— fuck!"
I gasp sharply as his hand suddenly slips into my slacks, shoving my panties aside and brushing his fingers against my folds.
My body goes completely rigid as my brain struggles to process.
Fuck! He really needs to stop pulling this move!
"For someone who's only here for the interview," he murmurs darkly, his fingers feeling my wetness, "you're awfully wet for me."
Crystal’s POVThe last thing I could remember before everything went black was that there was a great uproar on the cruise right as we all watched a force hit us.Crusher was excited and the last facial expression I remember him having was smirking and rolling his eyes while he watched us try to stop whatever was happening.“Where are we?” I asked as I tried to touch my face. That was when I realized that my feet and hands were both tied.It was basically impossible to escape from here without having your limbs free.I looked over to my side and that was when I saw a face that looked familiar.I was right, this was one of the survivors that Crusher and his men had captured and refused to let go even after he got Olivia’s custody. She wasn’t bound like me for some reason. Instead, she walked freely and grabbed a
Crystal’s POVWithin a blink of an eye, I got dragged away by an unseen force. All I could remember was trying so hard to release my hands but I couldn’t. The grip was so firm, I could barely yank my hands off.“Let go of me!” I yelled as Kieran watched me being dragged away. He tried pursuing us but he was stopped by Crusher with a bright smile on his face.“You want your girl?” He teased, smirking like an asshole.“Don’t you dare hurt her.” Kieran snapped.“What are you waiting for, lover boy? Go get her.” Crusher further teased.“What do you want?” Sir Phillipe interrupted. “Why are you here of all places?”“I should be asking you all that question.” He fired right back at him. “You should be grateful I&r
Crystal’s POVHonestly, I wish Olivia wasn’t taken and nothing went wrong during this trip.It was going smoothly before Crusher disrupted the peace and orderliness that was in existence.Chaos always had a way of changing an environment that basked in peace and solace into a total disaster. He didn’t just cause chaos, but he also took Olivia along, practically abducting her all because of his obsession. It was quite obvious he was obsessed with her. Everything he did centered and revolved around her, he knew holding the hostage would catch her attention and used them as his bait to abduct her successfully.Kieran and his men were quite wrong about him. Killing Olivia would make his plan sloppy and go get away, he’d need to be discreet with his movements to avoid being tracked.“What’s wrong?” I hea
Crystal’s POVThis definitely has to be a joke.Or maybe Kieran and his men are trying to play a prank on me. It was quite obvious Sir Philippe hasn’t quite gotten over my last joke at the meeting we had last week. The office was quiet and needed a little bit of drama. Unfortunately for me, I took it upon myself to stir a reaction from some of my staff. Some took it lightly and played along, while the others weren’t quite on board with the joke. The joke was betting on who was the office clown and most of the people chose him for some reason. He happened to be around that day because he’s hardly at the office. His excuses are always about how he has to stay with his family and sort out some errands. Totally understandable.“No, that isn’t possible. Are you joking with me?” I demanded. It was getting awkward and I could feel the tension building u
Crystal’s POV “What was that?” Kieran demanded.“What was what?” I retorted back at him. “You know what you did, Lyra. We don’t have to make a big deal out of this.” “Honestly, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Do you mind explaining? Maybe I'll be able to understand what you’re talking about.” I teased a little bit. He was stressed and being a little tease isn’t the best form of stress relief but at the same time, it makes him a little bit softer.“Lyra, you almost made that captain suspicious of us.” “What? Why would he suspect us? We literally have no idea where Crusher might be?” I said. “You walked out on me while I was talking, I’d say it was a bit rude too. Don’t you think so?” He added, crossing his arms around his chest.I let out a soft chuckle. “It’s not rude Kieran, brush it off.”“Do you two enjoy leaving everyone in confusion or what?” We both heard a voice yell behind us. It was Sir Philippe and one of the crew members, they both looked so stressed and exha
Crystal POVNo one responded to my statement. It’s quite the hitch, I’d say, because everyone thought they were ready for the storm because we survived the first one. No one wants to go slow on a ship; we want it swift and heading to our destination and back.I’m tired of the stops. I want to return to looking at the charts on the stock market and not staring at a compass held by a captain of a ship.If this was part of the deal initially, trust me, I wouldn’t have involved Olivia in this. But now that she’s in this, she’s even chosen to go deeper and not return to being a famous writer. She wants to live in a land where they grow good food on water and make rum from corn.Alpha Malone walked us back to our ship, and seeing Olivia in new robes that made her feel like royalty, I knew she wanted this type of life. People bowed as she passed; seeing her close to the alpha, they knew she was the new Luna of the pack."I still think you're making a mistake," I whispered as we stood away fr
Crystal's POVJust who the hell is this Lyra? And how is it possible that everyone can't tell that I'm an entirely different person from her?Can I really be her doppelganger, or what in the next level bullshit is this?I squeeze my eyes shut, taking a really deep breath to summon whatever last con
Crystal's POVHer words hit me like a freight train, confusion slamming me hard on the face like a blow. The ground disappears beneath me. I can't breathe. I can't think.'My daughter, Talia.' Those words echo in my ears so loud it hurts."What— what do you mean by your daughter, Talia?" I stutter,
Crystal's POV"How should I ride you? Rough or soft?"A husky and breathless voice drifts out of my bedroom door, making me freeze dead in my tracks. That's definitely not my husband, Ethan's voice.I drop the wine bottle I'm holding on the living room stool, my brows furrowing together. Or did I i
Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be
