LOGINCrystal's POV
Oh. My. Goddess.
The world just fucking stops spinning. Time stops. My breath stops.
I blink. Then blink again, but he's still right there on the seat, looking no less god-like than he did that night, with one exception—now he looks a whole lot scarier.
There's this scowl on his sexy face like he's about to murder someone. Maybe me?
I clear my throat awkwardly, bracing myself. "Good morning, sir."
If I thoughthe wouldl answer me, then I'm greatly mistaken. He doesn't utter a word, just keeps staring at me, his eyes piercing through my skin, like he's stripping me naked.
I shift uneasily on my feet, my heels suddenly feeling too tight. The air in the room shifts, becoming thicker and more congested.
His Alpha aura is so large and too intimidating that I feel small and insignificant in his presence.
And the fact that he isn't even saying anything?
Holy heavens! He's so unbearable. My palms are growing clammy as I stand there like a total fool, sweat pooling on my forehead.
I mentally start counting to ten, half-considering bolting out of the office and never looking back.
"Crystal Bennette?" His voice cuts into my mind.
And damn! I have to stifle the moan that escapes my throat. The way he says my name with that deep baritone, drawly and thick with amusement.
Or is it a surprise?
Either way, I will be damned if I said my pussy didn't just clench to the sound of him. And visions of the other night crash into my mind without warning.
His kisses. His touch. The way his eyes sparkled with dirty mischief as he slid inside of me. The feel of his body as we moved together as one.
Dear goddess, the way he held me after it was all over, like I was—
Damn it, Crystal! Get a fucking grip!
I cut out my nasty thoughts, swallowing hard as I force myself to focus on anything other than the heat pooling between my thighs.
My gaze drops to the nameplate on his desk, desperate for a distraction. Bold letters stare back at me: "Kieran Blackwood ."
That name. It sounds so familiar. Like I've heard it somewhere before, in a magazine maybe, or even on TV.
My brain scrambles to remember, to connect the dots, but I can't.
"Is this a fucking game to you?" I jerk around to the sound of his voice so close to my ears.
A violent shudder rips through me. When did he even move?
Before I can think too much about it, he backs me up against the door, his breath hot against my neck, wreaking havoc on my body.
"Are you ignoring me, Lyra?" His voice is low, almost a growl.
"No, I'm not, sir." I manage, my voice barely audible. "And I'm not Su—"
"What the hell are you doing here for real?" He cuts me off.
"After running away from me two days ago and blocking all forms of contact?" His gaze pins me down, dark and unforgiving.
"Explain yourself."
" I- uhm—" my voice breaks as I rack my brain for the right words.
But, fuck! He's so close. Too close and it's distracting.
I can feel the heat of his body and his musky, masculine, and intoxicating scent. It's doing unholy things to my body.
My pulse is racing so fast I'm sure he can hear it. I can't concentrate. Hell! I can barely breathe.
"Can we just start the interview and get it done and over with?" I manage to say, my lips quivering.
He pauses, his gaze dropping lower, scanning my body with an intensity that makes my stomach flip.
Then a slow, wicked smile curves his lips.
"Are you sure?" He breathes against my ear. "Because I can smell your filthy arousal from here."
My face burns. Heat explodes across my cheeks, and I want to die right here on the spot. I want the ground to open up and swallow me whole.
Because hell! He's so fucking right. I've never been so turned on in my life.
But I'll rather die than admit that.
"I have no idea what you mean." I keep my voice steady, trying to sound firm, even though my body is betraying me.
"I feel nothing for you, sir. I just want to get this interview over with and leave."
He leans in, his mouth hovering dangerously close to my ear. "You didn't sound like someone who felt nothing for me two nights ago when you had my full length buried deep inside you."
I suck in a sharp breath, my face burning hotter than a thousand suns. But I'm not about to back down.
"That night was a mistake, Mr. Steele. I wasn't in my right senses. It'll never repeat it— fuck!"
I gasp sharply as his hand suddenly slips into my slacks, shoving my panties aside and brushing his fingers against my folds.
My body goes completely rigid as my brain struggles to process.
Fuck! He really needs to stop pulling this move!
"For someone who's only here for the interview," he murmurs darkly, his fingers feeling my wetness, "you're awfully wet for me."
Kieran POVI was led to a different room while I couldn't help but hope that my lady was safe with King Malone. I couldn't deny how he changed the look on his face when he heard the word 'Moonbloom'. I have to figure out if he knows my father. If my father was ever on a trip like this and failed to tell me about it then there must be a reason why he did that and I would want to know the moment I see his face."So you're Alpha Kieran, the Alpha of Silvercrest Pack, when you return to your pack and find your father. Ask him how it used to feel when we had our meetings at the penthouse." I remembered how my father warned me never go to into the penthouse because it has a lot of memories he wants to forget."How did you know about the penthouse?""Don't ask question and focus on your fight against that monster Crusher? I trained him myself after I defeated him in a fight to regain my rights after watching my people starve because of my gambling addiction.""You're addicted to gambling and
Crystal povHow do I become captain of a ship when I know nothing about ships? I was shocked to see the cap on my head, I saw this as another act because being Kieran’s wife is also an act because no one knows that I’m not Lyra. My name is Crystal and not Lyra; You can do this Crystal, just flow into the act and use the information you’ve gathered to keep you afloat.“Who’s the captain of this ship?”“Who are you?”“My name is Alpha Malone. The Alpha of this land. What do you want?”“You destroyed our sport and made those people win a whole lot of money from us.” His brother quickly uttered as I made my way to Alpha Malone. With the cap on my head, he laughed softly and turned to his brother.“Are you seriously telling me that the Captain of this ship is a lady?”“Are you saying that ladies can’t lead ships?”“They’re meant for the bed and the kitchen, why would a lady be doing this? And aren’t they ashamed of obeying orders from you?” His brother had a lot of words to say, he knew hi
Crystal POVWatching him lower himself into the water more than he had already told me what I needed to know. He was training. At first, I thought he was doing it because of the crew members who said they can survive in the depths of the ocean for about half an hour, and I do believe them, but not completely.Even after he explained to me why he was doing that, I knew I had to give him the bracelet that I made while he decided to speak with the Captain of the ship.We sat there while speaking about a whole lot of other things, including his past memories about me, starting from the day I disappeared from the crowd and he had to take me back over a deal.“Are you guys done talking about everything?” Valeria asked while I wondered why she had already shifted, staring at her sharp claws.“Why do you need our answer to that question?” I inquired, wearing a smile on my face while staring at her.“Because there’s a ship on our west, and it seems they’re running from something,” Valeria repl
Kieran POVComing up would mean I could only stay under for 6 minutes. I have to do more than that to be able to defeat whoever I’m going to fight with. They don't know we’re training for this, and using that as an advantage gives me the chance to win this fight and secure our passage through to the North Islands.Alpha Harry knows nothing about all this, and I wonder if his daughter is feeding him information, but there’s no cell service, and I ditched mine because there was no use for it in this part of the world. Our world uses it, but not this part. I haven’t seen someone using a phone; all they use is maps, scrolls, and ink, and it doesn’t bother them because they haven’t experienced modern-day life.“Can we do it again?”“One last time, so you don’t drown. Remember, the water has spirits, and they might be asleep, letting you train. Don’t wake them up,” he warned before I lowered myself yet again, and this time all I could think about was Lyra.I thought about how she helped me
86Kieran POVIf I had an answer to his question, I would have said a word, but I paused with him as we stared into the empty ocean. We had just escaped a battle despite having enough gunpowder to blow up an entire ship.I imagined what our fate would be if we were up against an entire fleet. Who was going to fight and protect what was ours? I have to fight for her safety and make sure she doesn’t get hurt.“I know you don’t know what to say to me, Alpha Kieran, but I want to assure you that this risk isn’t worth the reward anymore. I know that this seal is worth a fortune, and if I return with it, I’ll get the value that would enable me to get a bigger ship and, not only that, a good payment for my crew members…”“Why do I have a feeling there’s a ‘but’ incoming?” I let out a sigh as he gave me a set of binoculars.“Those cliffs up ahead have a lot of monsters in them. Wolves that would stop at nothing until they sink our ship and take what belongs to us.”“How about we put out a cha
Kieran POVI disliked this man who’s standing as our captain. I think he has his eyes set on Lyra, and she doesn’t know it yet, or she might even know but pretend not to see my reaction.I asked a question, and both parties went mute, as if they weren't having a conversation before I stepped in.“How far are we?”“We have two days left on this trip, and we’re heading into the most dangerous part of the sea. It’s way past midnight, so we ought to be ready for any obstacle that tries to block our way.”“Do you think Alpha Harry is still following us?”“If a ship were following us, I’d have seen it, but no one is following us. Whoever that man is might have another route because this is the shortest route to your destination.” He divulged before leaving the steering wheel for me to hold.“At my call, you’re going to make a hard right. Give that wheel your whole strength…” he paused and turned to his crew members along with my men.I told them to follow his orders because he’s the one who
CrystalWhat’s giving Kieran the audacity to do this and feel normal about it? The figures are going down, and he doesn’t even give it a thought. How would he spend three million in a day and feel good about it? It’s not an investment, it’s just expenses.“Look at it from my perspective. Don’t you
Crystal POVResting in his arms while he walked through the public, as though nobody’s reaction mattered. He was all about making me smile, and truth be told, I smiled so much in the elevator and even now. Some people are taking pictures.” I stuttered the moment he dropped me into the back of the S
Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the
Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past.
