Chapter 29— Family Vendetta

Marcel's POV

"Are you going to sit and watch your brother take everything you've worked so hard to earn?" Serena said, her voice sounding like a lioness roar.

I ignored. Lost in my thoughts.

I sat on the couch, frustrated and angry; my brother, sorry, that kind of a person isn't my brother. That monster wants to take away what is rightfully mine.

He left us years ago, and now he was back, about to reap from where he didn't sow.

"Are you even listening to me, Marcel?" She yelled

"I need to think, Serena, please give me a break," I yelled back at her.

She took a few steps backwards. I knew instantly that she was annoyed, but I couldn't worry about that at that moment. Raphael was about to become the heir to the Lorenzos dynasty and it wasn't just that he was going to get married to my ex Diana.

There was no way I was going to sit and watch that happen.

Over my dead body.

"Marcel", Mom called me the name from downstairs.

I was in my parent's mansion.

At first, I didn't want to go.

Why should I?

She was the one who gave birth to that idiot. I hated her for that at that moment.

"Wouldn't you go downstairs to answer your mom?" Serena asked her voice laced with concern.

"It's none of your business If I answer my mother or not," I said angrily

"Are you talking to me in that way right now?"

I kept mute.

"I can't do this right now; I guess agreeing to be with you was a bad idea", she said, grabbing her pause to leave.

I grab her by the hands, pulling her backwards, my senses coming back to normal.

"I am sorry, Serena, please don't leave me. You are the only real person in my life."

"Are you serious right now?"

"I am damn serious, Serena; please forgive," I begged, hugging her from behind.

"Don't you dare talk to me in that manner ever again!" She warned

I nodded my head, smiling.

"So now what are you going to do about your brother?" She asked

"Don't call him that, he's not my brother."

"I don't even care about that right now, the only thing I care about is making sure Diana doesn't become a member of this family."

"Diana, she's not the major problem here, Raphael is."

"Can you even hear yourself, Marcel? You sound like you still like her."

"Come on! You know how I detest that impostor."

"We should make sure that their marriage never holds."

"I will do that, my princess."

Mom's voice came again from below, this time louder and more urgent.

"You need to go answer her right now."

"Okay, okay, I will go."

I kissed her and then went downstairs.

"What is it, Mom?" I asked rudely.

"Don't talk to me in that tone Marcel, I am your mother" her voice was firm.

I giggled "Mother? Do you even have the right to call yourself that now?"

"What's gotten into you, Marcel?" She asked her, sounding confused.

"Why would you give birth to Raphael?"

Her facial expression changed drastically; I guess she wasn't expecting me to ask her that kind of question.

"Have you gone nuts? How dare you talk to Mother in that manner?" Anna interrupted.

"Stay out of this, little sis", I warned.

"Don't call me little." She shot back at me.

I exhaled.

"Look, Mom, find a way to get Raphael out of the picture, then you can call yourself my mother," I said and then walked out of her presence.

Leaving her dumbfounded.

I began to head back up the stairs.

Mom and Anna kept calling me to come back down but I ignored and continued going up until I met Serena standing on the first floor of the stairs.

"And where did you think you were going?" she asked, staring at me with a deadly gaze.

"I was coming back to you my love."

"Have you gone psycho? I was here listening to how rude you talked to Mother."

I took a step back down "She deserved every single word."

"You would go back and apologise to her now."

I looked at her, my expression stern and cold.

But she wouldn't budge; she stood, arms folded, blocking the path.

"You have to go back down and listen to your mother" she yelled.

After a long grumble, I went back down, this time together with Serena.

"Thank you, Serena." Mom said.

Serena smiled.

I didn't understand what had happened until Mom said she heard her voice when she was insisting I come back down to see her.

I didn't know Serena's voice was that loud.

Mom walked over to the couch where she had dropped her expensive Hermes bag and brought out something that looked like an invitation card. She stretched it to me.

"What's this?" I asked.

"Open it and see for yourself." She replied coldly.

She was still pissed about what happened earlier but I couldn't care less.

It was her fault, she should have ended Raphael’s life a long time ago.

I took the card from her and opened it.

My eyes widened at the names written on it.

Diana and Raphael.

Angrily, I tore the invitation card, scattering the pieces on the ground.

"They would be doing their introduction party in one of the famous event centres which means your grandparents plan to invite the richest and most prestigious individuals too "

"Then that's the right place to cause havoc." Serena blurted out.

Everyone's eyes drifted to her.

"I am sorry if I was too forward, but isn't that what you were planning?" She asked, facing my mom.

My mom heaved a deep sigh. "You took the words out of my mouth," she said smiling.

"So how do we go about this" I asked

"You figure it out yourself", Mom replied angrily, standing up and heading towards her room.

"But mom?"

"I am not your mother, you said it yourself."

She opened the door to her room and went in shutting the door behind her.

Anna left.

Serena left.

I was left alone in the living room, thinking of how to cause havoc at the introduction party.
