Alison’s POV

It was a Monday morning and I had called in sick at the daycare where I work and asked for permission to be late. I was so pumped up on destroying Cory’s career that I forgot to come up with a story that was malicious enough to get him fired.

It wasn’t until I was allowed into the HR office that I realized how stupid I had been.

“Hello, please have a seat.” The HR said. She looked like she was in her 30s warm and friendly, it was the man standing beside her that intimidated me. He was a tall muscular man who looked like he was in his late 30’s or early 40’s. He had the most hazel eyes I had ever seen, they were a bit strange, he also had a very handsome face and yet did not smile at all.

My knees wobbled as I sat down, “good morning.”

“Good morning, what brings you here? I heard you wanted to see me?” The HR asked.

I could feel the man’s cold glare in my periphery which made me shiver uncomfortably,

“Erm it’s about… Cory…Cory Vandyke.” I stuttered. The woman’s smile faded into that of horror as the man’s stern look became even more stern.

“Did he do something?” The man spoke up in a very deep voice that gave me the chills. His voice was just as stern as his demeanor.

I couldn’t take it anymore, I had to leave, I don’t even know what I was thinking when I came here. It must've been the alcohol filling my head with very stupid ideas.

“It’s fine,” I said, getting up and trying to escape.

“Stop right there.” The man said and swaggered up to me, he gave me another hard and piercing look and then muttered,

“Come with me.” He didn’t wait for me to protest or say anything; he just walked away and I had no option but to follow with my wobbly knees. How on earth did I get here? Couldn’t I have come up with a better revenge than this?

I stood by him in the elevator and then within a few minutes we walked into his office, it had the word ‘CEO’ inscribed on his door. I gasped, why was the CEO so interested in Cory’s business?

“Sit down.”

He had this authoritative way of speaking that made you obey him without any questions. I sat behind his desk as he sat across me with hands hugging each other on the desk.

“I believe you came all the way to make a report about my son so why have you changed your mind?”

I shot him a look and was suddenly taken aback by what he had just said. Son? Son? That was Cory’s father? How? I looked up at his face to see the resemblance, there was none. He had jet-black hair, Cory was blonde. His eyes were so hazel but Cory’s eyes were brown. He also didn’t look old enough to have a 20-year-old for a son.

He smirked, “I look too good to be Cory’s dad right? Well, I’m 40 years old.” He replied. “In case you think that I’m a child.”

“Erm…” Wait did he say 40? 40? I must have guessed right then but still, he looked too good to be 40, I lowered my gaze to his hand trying to find his wedding ring there was none.

“I’m single, Cory’s mom died.” He said when he saw me looking at his finger. “Now tell me; why are you here?”

I took in a deep breath and shook my head. I had to go back home and restrategize. This won’t do. This plan would fail, the CEO is his dad he can never lose his job. I had come up with another story.

“Cory bought some products from my mother but his card declined. He promised to send a check and gave us this address in case we didn’t trust that he would pay back.” I said.

“How on earth did his card decline? What does he use his money for?” He fumed. Then pulled out his first drawer.

“How much was it?”

“50 bucks,” I replied.

He sighed and handed me 100 bucks. “Keep the change and sorry for all the trouble.”

“Thank you, Mr. Vandyke.” I took the money and got up.

“Don’t mention.” He said, I walked to the exit thinking he would ask for my name but he didn’t. I may have been heartbroken and down but at least I had 100 bucks for some groceries and a time to restrategize my revenge plan.

I got to the daycare where I work and I was mobbed by the kids. It feels so good to be back, they’re my therapy. Maybe instead of brooding over my pain and planning a silly revenge I should have come to my babies instead.

“Your eyes looked so swollen, have you been to the hospital?” Roberta asked me. I let out a deep sigh. Because I called in sick they must’ve all thought that I was truly sick. I wasn’t going to tell anyone the truth but I trust Roberta,

“I’m not medically sick, just emotionally unwell.”

“Huh? She stared at me looking totally lost.

I let out another sigh, “On my birthday I let Cory break my virginity…” I stared at her for a reaction and she looked confused,

“You love Cory right?” She asked, trying to understand my sadness.

“In the middle of sex, he stopped and broke up with me. He said I was bleeding and the sight of blood triggered him.”

“Oops.” Roberta covered her mouth.

“That’s not the worst part, I went to my mom’s place the next day to seek consolation, and guess who I caught naked in bed with my mother?”

Roberta shook her head in disgust, “no way!”

I nodded, “from the discussion I overheard it seems that they have had it going on for a while.”

“My goodness!” Roberta exclaimed.

“This morning I stormed off to his office intending to make him lose his job. I get there and tell me why I’m now finding out that Cory is the son of the CEO of Elektro Hardware and Software?”

“You don’t mean it” Roberta exclaimed.

“I kid you not.”

“My goodness. Did you tell his father what he did?”

“No! I couldn’t possibly have done that.” I replied.

“Wait! I think I have an idea. You want to make Cory pay for what he did right?”

I nodded,

“I say, sleep with his dad too.”

I rolled my eyes at her, what would a man of his caliber do with a girl like me? That would be nearly impossible. This girl is funny.

“Say something realistic, you can’t just bump into a CEO in regular places and seduce him,” I replied.

“Meeting Ralph Vandyke is not that difficult, he’s a ladies' man and loves to party at Moonlight nightclub and hotel or the moonlight pool. He's the mayor of Moonlight County basically because he created that county for his own interests. If you go there you’re likely to meet him. He has a reputation with the ladies. I don't think it should be hard to seduce him and get your revenge.”

As I soaked in what Roberta was saying my eyes glimmered with excitement, I imagined Cory’s face when he eventually finds out I fucked his dad.

1 month later Third person POV After a warm afternoon with Anne, Cory moved from the visitors' lounge and made his way back to his room. He opened the door and almost jumped out of his skin when he saw Alison seated on his bed and rocking one of her twins in her arms while the other one played and squealed in his baby seat. He frowned so hard that there were visible lines on his forehead, “Who allowed you inside?” He barked. Alison smiled, “Now that’s the real you! Your dad said you had sobered up and I just knew it was an act!” He quickly toned down to prevent any further trouble, he had to be on his best behavior if he wanted to get out of this place. “What do you want?” He sat beside her on the bed, “I came to invite you to our it’s in two months, hope you will be there?” She asked with a mischievous smile on her face. “You could have just sent me an invitation, you didn’t have to come all the way.” Cory rolled his eyes. “Aawww Cory, do you think that’s the only

Alison POVI sat on my bed at the hospital watching Ralph through the screen as he mounted the podium to deliver his speech. The camera panned to the team behind him and my smile got even bigger when I saw Anne amongst the members of the winning team. If she’s there, it’s a good sign, I’m hopeful that Ralph will eventually forgive her, he’s just taking baby steps.“First of all, I will like to thank each and every one of you who exercised their franchise, and a big thank you to those who voted for me, I pledge to continue to work to serve the interests of the people in this county. My boys started crying at the same time and I didn’t know who to comfort first. They had tags on their hands that had the numbers, 1 & 2 written on them, to indicate which one was born first and which one was born next. I wanted to comfort both of them at the same time but they’re big pups, and I just had surgery, so I’m not permitted to put pressure on my body. To be fair to both of them, I carried one in

Ralph POVTrust me, I want to forgive everyone, especially Anne. I want to go back to my usual mood and be there for Alison as our pups are in NICU but it’s so hard dealing with what I was going through. I didn’t want to be moody, but I couldn’t be on my best behavior so I did the unthinkable and went to see Cory at the asylum. He looked surprised to see me, but his frown soon melted into a smile, “Have you come to tell me you won? I already know, congratulations.” He sounded so calm and mature after a few days here, I'm glad he looks better but knowing Cory he could be pretending.I sat beside him on his bed and kept mute. It didn’t look like he enjoyed the awkward silence but he didn’t say a word, he just allowed me to be quiet and even offered me some of his lunch.“Dad, are you okay?” He finally asked.I let out a deep sigh and shook my head, “Guess what I just found out?”I could see his interest piquing, “That Alison’s pups ain’t yours?”There he goes again attacking Alison’s c

Third Person POVHe couldn’t have heard their conversation right? The music was way too loud, there were a lot of growls and snarls too and they were seated a bit too far from the fire exit, these were the questions that ran through their minds as Ralph began to approach them, Lynn turned to Anne,“I will make him forgive you if you promise to talk to him to come with me to see his father.” It sounded like a good bargain, but Anne didn’t want Ralph to go and see his father; he was a bad father who sacrificed his son to save his marriage. He never defended Ralph, perhaps because he reminded him of his own mistakes.“Maybe let’s just tell him the real story, let’s allow him to decide for himself what he wants to do,” Anne replied.Ralph walked up to the table and sat down. He stared at their faces and sighed. “Who do I call mom?”Anne looked at Lynn with a lot of hatred while Lynn put on a pathetic look so she could play her victim card well.“I’m still your mother Ralph, even if I did

Third Person POVAnne set up a table in the corner of the club and waited for Iris and Mike to join her. The mood in the club was charged; everyone seemed excited except for Anne, who looked drained. Iris tapped her hand as she and her husband sat down.“Have you guys booked the conference hall for Ralph’s thank-you speech on Monday?” she asked.Iris and Mike smiled fondly. “We have,” Mike muttered.“Aww, you care so much about him even when he’s being a stubborn goat!” Iris remarked“As stubborn as Ralph is, he’s not like his dad. At least that’s what I kept saying to myself when I saw him sleeping around with all the she-wolves.” Anne remarked. “His father was a big disappointment, lying to me and taking him away from me. Then watching him get maltreated and then abandoning him.”“I still can’t believe you’re his mother,” Mike said. “You could have at least told us?”Anne pursed her lips, let out a growl, “How was I going to say to you that, as a young she-wolf, I tried to break the

Alison POV“Oh, and I forgot to mention that your dad retained his seat. Four more years to do evil. I guess that man will never lose anything in his life.” My mom lamented while I giggled.“I’m glad he won,” I said to her. She didn’t look too pleased with what I said, but it’s true, I’m glad he won. “He will get so power drunk that he will eventually destroy himself. Just leave him alone.”“Girl! I thought we were friends”, Roberta’s voice sounded from the other end of the room. I turned sharply and covered my mouth. “How come I had to hear it on the news with everyone else?”“Sorry,” I whispered when she got closer, “A lot has been going on since I gave birth, as you can see, the babies are in NICU.” I pointed to my pups and gave her a sad puppy face. She gave me a side hug and greeted my mom.The pups had gone to sleep, so we moved back to my ward so we wouldn’t wake them up. My mom excused Roberta and me so we could have some privacy. When she left, I turned to Roberta and wiped
