My instincts told me outrunning the truck wouldn’t be possible so I stopped walking, then a man came out of the car. He was a tall, rugged man with black hair and red eyes, the telltale sign of a member of the Blood Fang pack, he wore a black tank top that exposed his sleeve tattoos- one arm had a wolf curling around his bicep while the other arm had thorns with a single flower that disappeared into his shoulder.

“You going somewhere little one?” His voice was deep and could only be what I could call scary.

“Not really,” I responded, swallowing heavily, trying to hide the fear from my voice.

“I can smell the fear on you, kid. Don’t worry, we don’t hurt children.” He said in an attempt to calm me down. Oh great, so they hurt adults instead, and as far as I knew, being eighteen years old made me an adult, now I was even more scared. As though he could smell the increase in my fear he wrinkled his nose.

“Where are you heading? Perhaps we could drop you off.” He offered.

Not alone was right, the Blood Fang pack was huge, and this was just as far as I could see.“This is the Warriors’ sector,” Dante said stretching his arms to encompass the entire area.Men and Women alike strolled around in combat boots, cargo pants, and fitted tops. Nearby, I could hear grunts from people training; the whole place reeked of sweat and damp. A man walked towards us dressed like the masses, except that his face was framed by glasses, his hair was blond, and swept back.“Ramirez, Delgado, you’re late.” He said his voice was deep and authoritative.Dante and Angelica suddenly stood at attention before him, and there were a few tense moments of silence before they all burst into laughter.“Honestly, Carl, I cannot get over how good you are at sounding all serious,” Angelica said, still laughing.“What can I say? It’s a gift.” He responded with a shrug. “I beat you two again. Why on earth did it take you guys a day longer to get back?”“Well, we could tell you, but it would

I entered the bathroom that was barely big enough to fit two people. I began to take off my clothes, being mindful of my wounds. I removed my jacket, then the blood-stained shirt, ignoring the stinging pain in my back as I removed them. TI took off my pants and got under the shower. I gritted my teeth, letting out a small yelp as the water met my back. Done, I grabbed a towel and carefully wrapped it around myself. Back in the room, I grabbed my bag, looking for herbs I could use to make a paste for my wounds. At that moment, Angelica entered the room. She must have left while I was in the bathroom. She nodded her head at me, then went into the bathroom. While she was in there, I mixed all the necessary herbs I needed, but now I needed help applying them, so I sat on my bed waiting for Angelica so I could ask her. After a while, she emerged from the bathroom, her hair a tangled mess at her shoulders.“Everything okay?” She asked staring at me.“Um, I was wondering, if it wouldn’t be t

I woke up to Angelica’s footsteps as she moved around the room packing up.“Did I wake you? Sorry, I wanted you to sleep for as long as you could.”“Oh no, it’s ok, I’ve never been one to sleep deeply anyway. What time is it?”“It’s six thirty. There’s still time if you want to sleep in some more or grab a shower.”“Um yeah, I think I’ll grab a shower.” The sound of my stomach grumbling filled the room and I ducked my head in embarrassment.Chuckling she said, “Dante’s already handled breakfast, we’ll eat on the road. Now quickly go shower.”I ran into the bathroom, emerging minutes after a quick shower.“Please help me reapply the paste?” I asked her. She nodded her head. The room was silent as she applied the paste on my back then wrapped it in bandages. After I got dressed, there was a knock on the door. It was Dante.“You ladies ready yet?” He asked, hovering by the door.“Yep. We’re all set.” Angelica responded and we left the motel heading to the truck. Inside it, there were bag

With a snarl, he lunged towards me, his arms reaching for me. I took the knife and swung it at him with all my strength, barely even scratching him as he jumped back in surprise. His eyes turned towards the knife gripped firmly in my hand then back to me.“You think that little knife is going to be enough to stop me?” He asked his grey eyes twinkling with malice as I saw his wolf surface within him, “Little reject,” It said, “Consider this an honor and don’t fight us. This could go a lot worse.” Then he grinned widely baring his fangs that had elongated from his teeth. I found myself shivering in fear at the look in his eyes.“Don’t come near me!” I yelled brandishing the knife furiously. He lunged for me again, this time grabbing hold of my wrist, squeezing tightly until I dropped the knife, yelping in pain. He pulled me closer to him, his grip not loosening. Using his other hand, he grabbed my face, turning it to face him.“If you don’t fight, you’ll enjoy this. Many girls would kil

I could tell from the looks on their faces- disbelief on the twins’, anger on Adrian’s, that they were not expecting me to have finished cleaning up. They must have wanted to get me into trouble again.Everyone gathered at the dinner table, eating happily, did these people really never once consider that I might just decide to snap one day, poison their food, watch them die, then run away, or maybe kill myself? They were eating so heartily, acting like they were untouchable. They weren’t, wolfsbane was a werewolf’s weakness, and I had a ton of that growing in my mother’s garden. Not because I was plotting to poison anyone but because it weakened a wolf enough that we could do all the necessary things we needed to at the clinic.Adrian erupted into laughter at whatever it was that his father said. Though looking at them now, poison did not seem like a bad idea. “So Lilliana,” Luna Marienne said, turning everyone’s attention to me. I squirmed under the force of their gazes, trying my b
