I woke up to Angelica’s footsteps as she moved around the room packing up.

“Did I wake you? Sorry, I wanted you to sleep for as long as you could.”

“Oh no, it’s ok, I’ve never been one to sleep deeply anyway. What time is it?”

“It’s six thirty. There’s still time if you want to sleep in some more or grab a shower.”

“Um yeah, I think I’ll grab a shower.” The sound of my stomach grumbling filled the room and I ducked my head in embarrassment.

Chuckling she said, “Dante’s already handled breakfast, we’ll eat on the road. Now quickly go shower.”

I ran into the bathroom, emerging minutes after a quick shower.

“Please help me reapply the paste?” I asked her. She nodded her head. The room was silent as she applied the paste on my back then wrapped it in bandages. After I got dressed, there was a knock on the door. It was Dante.

“You ladies ready yet?” He asked, hovering by the door.

“Yep. We’re all set.” Angelica responded and we left the motel heading to the truck. Inside it, there were bag

KILLIAN’S POVIt had been a year already. A year away from my pack, my home, but finally coming home.I watched through the window as the plane flew across the ocean. I never liked travelling. I detested it with a passion. Yet it was something I had to do repeatedly as an Alpha. It was an exhausting thing.“Penny for your thoughts?” Clarke said next to me, as he took a sip of his drink.I chuckled darkly, “You'd need more than a penny for the thoughts going through my mind.” I said in reply.“Ah, so dollar then.” He said with a chuckle.“Hmm. How hilarious.” I said dryly.“But really, though, Killian, what's bothering you. I can feel you thinking.” He said.“I'm worried about the state of things when we get back.” I admitted, “There have been attacks.”“Yes, by rogues and the warriors handled them before they did any real damage.”“I know that, but rogues never once dared to attack us, plus the reports they sent said they always ran away before any one of them could get seriously hurt

SARAH'S POV“I'll meet you over at Camille’s stand,” I told Lilliana.“Are you sure?”, she asked, “I don't mind waiting.”“No, I want to look around a bit more, but I don't want her there too long. So go be with her. I'll be there soon.”She nodded, waved, and walked off to join Camille. I stood back, eyes looking around at the various tent-like stands that were around me. One in particular caught my eye- it sold trinkets and such. I approached it eagerly. “Well, I see you have a great eye.” The person there said.“Really? I just thought it looked pretty.” It was a silver wolf-shaped hairpin with red jewels for its eyes.“A pretty pin for a pretty wolf.” he grinned at me.“How much for it?” I asked.“Hmm, it's only 15 but for you, I'll accept 10.” He said.“10? That's nice of you. Thank you.” I reached into my purse and eagerly brought out the money.“Don’t worry. I got this.” A familiar voice said from behind me and I froze instantly recognizing it. I would recognize that voice anyw

CAMILLE’S POVNervous was not enough to describe how I was feeling. It felt like someone had me tied down with a bucket of rats over my stomach, lit the bucket on fire and the rats had no way to escape except through my stomach. Yeah, that was a better description than nervous. Mr. Vince was perusing the artwork that I had selected to display for the art fair.“These are all splendid, yes splendid works.” He smiled, “I don’t think I can pick just anyone, so why don’t we just display all of them?”“A- all of them?” I repeated, “I don’t know if they are all good enough to all be displayed. What if people don't like them?” My anxiety was showing again. That distinct fear that what I did was not enough, that I wasn't enough. It seemed so ridiculous really. I mean here was my teacher, assuring me that my work was great, that it was what people wanted to see. Yet I could not seem to quiet the voice at the back of my head telling me that I would never be enough, that nothing I did would eve

SIX MONTHS LATERLILLIANA’S POVThe strikes kept coming, left, right, left, right. I tried my best to avoid as much as I could, but soon enough, I couldn’t keep up, and one of them made contact, hitting me across the field, my body making a loud oomph as it landed on the floor.“You alright there Lil?” Erik asked from his side on the field where he was watching the sparring.“I’m good,” I responded breathlessly, jumping to my feet and dusting myself off. I resumed my fighting stance and approached my sparring partner again. This time I was careful to stand more firmly on my feet. The sparring continued for quite some time and I had managed to land my own strikes, though not enough to send her flying, and I managed to not be sent flying again.“Alright enough!” Erik called out, “It’s meal time. You can head on to eat.” I started to gather my things, when a shadow fell across me, it was Erik. He was staring me down, looking at me like he could not believe what he was looking at.“What?

Back at the residence, the White Sea pack had so kindly provided for us, I lugged a drunk Clarke into bed.“Gosh, you are heavy,” I said with a groan as I dropped him on the bed.“I am n-not heavy.” He slurred, “I am light as a feather.”“Sure you are buddy.” I patted his shoulder, then made my way to the bathroom to wash off the scent of alcohol that clung to my clothes.I got out of my clothes and stood in front of the mirror that hung over the sink, my eyes darted across my torso, lingering slightly in the scar that ran diagonally down my chest, starting from my right shoulder to my left hip. It was not a scar I liked to look at as the memories it brought back were far too annoying for me to deal with. It wasn’t a macho male type of thing, I simply was not ready to handle everything that would come if I decided to unpack the emotions that the scar brewed up within me.I stepped into the shower and set the water temperature to high and I turned it on. Soon, steam started to fill the

KILLIAN’S POVAnother day, another fucking country. I was beginning to get tired of all this travelling I was doing. I missed my pack, plus there was also the fact that I was starting to feel uneasy. Trouble was brewing back there and it disturbed me that I didn't know what it was and that I was not around to handle it. Instead, I was stuck here being diplomatic to this pompous fuck in front of me.“So Alpha Thorne,” The Alpha of the pack I was looking to form an alliance with said, “Why are you here exactly?”He was asking me this question again. Even though I had already answered him several times. He seemed to take delight in asking me the same thing over and over again, but in different forms; it was almost like he was trying to showcase his English skills.“As I’ve said before Alpha Bane, I wish for our packs to have a friendly relationship with each other. An alliance, if you will. So that in times of trouble we can be there for each other and we can also learn new ways that wil
