Susanna's POV.

The silence in the room after my words was palpable, fifteen wolves pausing abruptly in motion to stare at me, all with blank looks, none with trust.

Well, except Sebestian that is.

The first to break the silence was the Alpha of Shadow Pelt Pack. He looked about two centuries old, his beard white drooping in long sharp 'V' he was clad in robes as black as the shadow itself, and across the chest is a red sash that doubled as a belt of daggers. Their edges glinted in the room.

"Oh oh, someone must have let a cub lose in here." His voice was hoarse and croaky, and he stroked his beard slowly, fondly as he spoke.

The Elders by his side, clad in similar black robes, laughed at his very obviously bad joke.

The rest of the table seemed to have regained their ability of facial expressions back as they now had looks of unabashed ridicule in their eyes.

A loud chatter broke across the table, Alpha to Elders, each

Derek's POV."If you sigh one more time, I'm gonna have your head on a stake." Godwin gasped nervously, fumbled with his words as he said "I'm sorry, Alpha." I collapsed into the desk, and let out a heavy sigh, surprised myself at how long and deep it was."Alpha- did you really have to do that?" Godwin's words were careful, like the was scared to upset me."And since when did you start to have opinions?" I glared at him, rolling my eyes at him. He gulped loudly, and extremely annoying sound, he makes when he's nervous."Alpha, I just think that was too hard, she is pregs after all " He said again.I swear this guy, only listens to himself."If you have any braincells to think, you would figure a way to save DarkMoon from extinction!" I yelled at him.He flinched and took a few steps back from the desk, his head bowed low into his chest.."I am sorry Alpha." His voice was meek..I let out a groan and dragged my palm across my face. This was one deaf Beta I got here."I don't want

Fiona's POV.Liora rushed to my side in a split second, gliding over the clothes with less difficulty than I could ever. She pulled me away from the fire and into her arms, wrapped her arms around me protectively, patting me like a child. I sunk my head into her bossom, craving her warmth and the comfort that came with it.We were there till I lost track of time, letting my worries go, between the rhythm of her comforting pats. My joints seemed to heal faster, and my tight joints loosened in her arms.. I let out a breath I did not know that I was holding. In her arms, breathing was not a sport. After what felt like peaceful centuries had passed, she finally moved. She carried me like one would cradle a child and laid me on the bed. She placed a pillow under my head and arranged the rest around me. Shr scurried around, smoothening the sheets around me, making sure I was comfortable and settled in. I felt like a child watching her, she reminded me of my own mother, a memory far gone

Fiona's POV "I don't hit women, but I hit lunatics." Derek's words sunk into my skull, and was playing on repeat in my head, like a bad record. A Lunatic. That was what Derek thought of me. A complete lunatic.I was no longer a Luna. Was I really a Lunatic now?.I sat on the carpet my pile of clothes had made for the floor of my room. I had pulled out the clothes because the ground was too cold, and I had no carpet. I wanted more than anything to not feel the chill I had the first night of my confinement.Yet, as I sat her with all these clothes around me, the last thing on my mind was the temperature. My joints were dislocated, my bones broken, all because of my new identity as a lunatic. My wrists were bent in odd angles, looking like a sad stick figure with a face, my knees were not spared either, and one of my ankles was twisted.I sat still, letting the pain sear through me, taking me apart, completely submitting to the pain as I could not do anything in the first place. It

Derek's POV Fiona was not kidding. She raised the dagger in the air, paused for a split second, just enough time to stare at me with a smug look, her lips curled into a crazed smirk. And she lowered the dagger.I moved faster than I ever thought I could, jumping right over the carpet of her clothes, the dagger the only thing in my view. Everything seemed to go slower than usual, dagger falling a hundred miles per second, I was running at a mile per second. Right when it seemed like I could not catch up, I caught the dagger by the blade, mere centimetres from her belly. And then I fell, landed right on her thick, dirty carpet of clothes."You are insane." I growled, getting my feet on the clothes, pulling myself upright again.Fiona tilted her head at me, a crooked smile on her lips"You really care about your unborn heir that much huh?" Her voice was soft, didn't match the evil look in her eyes.I turned the dagger in my fingers, replacing the blade in my grip with the hilt, and clu

Derek's POV.Hercules didn't join me on the trip to Fiona's wing of the palace. He had never really accepted Fiona as the Luna, but since that day in the dining room, he had totally written her off existence, acting like her name was a mere word and not a person. A habit I was picking up.Godwin accompanied me on the walk, anxiety and adrenaline coursing through his steps, he took three steps in the time he used to take one, his hands were feverishly shaking, his eyes darting across every wall, every corner. He looked at me and winced, his eyes begging me to walk faster..I could not be less bothered. I walked at the pace my legs wished to carry me, my arms folded across my chest, my soul defeated. At Fiona's room, the guards saluted as usual, but there was a weird look in their eyes, like they were just doing routine, a dead, distant look in their eyes. I guess even the guards have lost their will to live. I stepped inside to meet the other two guards I had stationed in her room, u

Derek's POV.The paper fell out of my hands as my fingers went limp. I'm t floated in the air in the while before landing softly on the desk, a lone white contrasting against the black of the desk.My throat felt drier than ever, and I swallowed again and again, my fingers itching slightly at my neck. This could just be real.It had to be wrong.Yet, Marcus' signature shone brightly in red ink, totally confirming the reality of this, and shattering whatever false hope I had. This was wrong. The human community was our last hope. The last, very final straw that was keeping us afloat. And now it is gone too. We were utterly alone, with no help."What do we do now." I said, more like a statement than a question. My voice was tired, my head felt heavier, and my chest tight. I had felt defeated before, lost a couple big fights and done bets, but nothing like this. This was irreparable. There was no way to change this. It was final.DarkMoon was done."How about the cancellation clause?"
