I wake up in the suv laid out flat on the back seat. I try to sit up, but my whole-body hurts. I’m even more glad that I have Hazel and Nick at this moment. What if I had tried to do this on my own? My babies would just be in the bassinet crying for who knows how long.

I hear a shuffle up front and next thing I know Nick’s smiling down at me. “You did so good, Amy. Your babies are both fine and asleep. We’re just moving, not wanting to risk being found if your dad sensed them before we got the bracelets on them.” He says putting his hand on my head and moving my hair out of my face. “How are you feeling?” He asks, I cough a little and he goes back to the front seat, coming back with some water. After I drink practically the whole thing, I can finally speak again. My voice sounds hoarse though, “I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. How long was I out?” I ask, his smile fades a little. “About a day and a half.” He answers. A day and a half! Hazel wasn’t wrong when sh

I storm down the street to my house, the house that once felt like a safe haven and now feels like I’m a stranger there. All because we aloud her in my home, and she’s used that as an opportunity to fuck everything up.Even if she’s not the one who’s working with the witch, if there even is anyone. I want her out of my house. I know she’s up to something, and though I can’t prove she’s the one who did this to Liam, I know she’s involved. I can feel it in my soul. Not having proof is just the only thing saving her from ending up in the cells. The front door slams open as I rush through it, Liam and Dallas right behind me. “Amy, we can’t prove anything.” Liam tries to reason with me, but I’m too far gone for it to matter.I stalk up the stairs and as soon as I’m about to storm into her room, her door opens. “Oh Amy, you scared me.” Nadia says, her hand over her heart, with a small smile on her face. Like we’re all apart of this big joke.I step back from her door and hear Griffon’s clic

Liam pushes Cole and Dallas off of him, “I’m fine!” He shouts, then stands turning towards me. His face lost to guilt and pain, causing my heart to break even after everything that’s happened. He starts to slowly walk towards me; Dallas grabs his shoulder to stop him. Liam stops, closing his eyes as a low growl leaves his throat. “Dallas, I’m going to talk to her.” Liam grits out, then opens his eyes to look at me.I stare into my mate's eyes, I need to let him explain, even if it kills me.I nod my head, and everyone walks out. Except Dallas who walks to the other side of the room and leans back against the wall, giving us as much privacy as his wolf will allow. My eyes close as I feel Liam start to walk towards me. I’ve never hated this mate bond as much as I do right now. This need to be comforted by him, even though he’s the one who hurt me.His hand lands lightly on my cheek and he lifts my head to meet his eyes. Reluctantly, I slowly open my eyes, and he opens up his emotions, l

In all the time I’ve loved Liam, I never would have guessed he would do this to me.But I can’t deny what happened, while lingering pains shoot through my body and I sit crunched over on the ground on top of a mountain.“Amy.” Liam’s pleading soft voice reaches my ears, and I look down shaking my head. How could he do this to me?Dallas growls and I watch as his feet step closer to me. “What do you mean, ‘what did you do?’ What did he do?” Dallas growls and I slowly look up at him.The pain slowly dissolving and I begin to try and stand again. I don’t answer Dallas, letting my eyes do the talking for me. I can’t say the words. I can’t even believe it’s real.“Amy. It’s not what you think.” Liam claims and I shut my eyes, trying to stop the tears that are falling freely down my face.Dallas growls and wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me into his chest. “What did you do, Liam?” Dallas grits out.I can’t look at him. I can’t see his face after what he’s done.Dallas’s hand around

The stress of the last few weeks is really starting to get to me. I can’t sleep with my mate, I can’t be alone with her, and I know it’s killing her as much as it is me. Which in return is only making me feel worse.I haven’t been able to sleep, so I sit downstairs on the couch watching tv all night and doing some work here and there.I haven’t started training Griffon again, not until he proves to me that he’s not some immature teenager who throws a fit every time he gets grumpy. The way he’s treating his mother is disturbing, I don’t think they’ve talked since we talked to him in the office. He says that Nadia found the necklace, and the place she found it could be where it was, but we all have searched around there, many times. Wanting to find the necklace for Amy. She didn’t want to wear it, but it was still important to her. Something she had from her mother, since she doesn’t have much left after she burned her house to the ground.I walk into the office not long after Amy leave

“There has to to be a way to locate her, Hazel.” I beg her to come up with something, anything. She shakes her head, “I can only do a locator spell on someone when I have something of theirs.” She says looking at me apologetically.A loud grunt leaves me as I throw my back into the chair. There has to be something we can do. Has to be something to help us find this witch.Liam, while better, is still distant and always makes sure there’s someone in the room with us at all times. He doesn’t even sleep in our room right now, too scared the witch might hex him while he’s sleeping and not willing to risk it. He claims the only reason he did it when I was in heat was because of the bodyguards just outside the door and we can’t ask our friends to sit outside our door for the foreseeable future.Dallas still won’t leave me alone. He sleeps on the couch in our room, closer to me than my own mate. He says with Griffon acting up he’s even more inclined to stay here.Cole glances up at me from b

What the hell is wrong with everybody? Why does everybody think I’m going to hurt them? Am I really not allowed to get angry without everyone thinking I going to kill them?Everyone hates my mate, and they just expect me to be okay with that? Expect me to just sit back and let them all talk shit on her?I slow my walk just as the fresh air hits my face from opening the front door. I step outside onto the porch and look towards the sky. Why did she have that necklace?“Hey.” I hear whispered next to me, and I look over to see Aspen sitting on the chair on my porch. “Aspen.” I whisper back and go to sit on the chair next to hers. Though hesitantly, but she doesn’t tell me to fuck off, so I take that as invitation. We sit there in silence for far too long before she finally talks. “I knew you wouldn’t hurt me.” She whispers and I close my eyes and swing my head towards her. “Really? Because apparently hurting people is my thing now.” I tell her, still angry with my dad for even suggestin

Liam and I wait inside the office for Griffon to come in. He’s not going to like what we have to say. It never ends well when someone questions your mate, but we have to warn him that not everything might be on the up and up.Griffon walks in slowly, eyeing us suspiciously. “Am I in trouble?” He asks and I want so badly to say yes. The fact that he Alpha commanded Aspen alone is enough for him to be in trouble, but he’s grown now. There’s not much we can do about it, other than making it right.“You’ll take the Alpha command off Aspen.” Liam says sternly and Griffon’s mouth slackens in return. “Are you kidding me? She was being disrespectful to her future Alpha and Luna!” He says and I look at him like I’ve never seen him before.“Don’t look at me like that! You don’t tolerate disrespect.” He says pointing his finger at me. “No, I earn their respect and keep it. I’ve never felt the need to have Liam Alpha command respect for me. We don’t do that, and you know it.” I tell him and he gl

Why would she have my necklace? Better yet, how does she have my necklace? We lost it after the fight with my dad, never to be seen again, until now.“Guys! You have to get out of there!” Liam whisper yells through the door. We all look between each other.“Do we take it?” Dallas asks quietly and grimace. If we take it, she’ll know someone was in here. If we don’t, who knows what she has planned for it.“We’re taking it.” Hazel says absolutely, leaving no room for argument. I nod and we all rush to leave the room.We all make it into the room, shutting the door as soon as we hear the front door opening and Cole’s booming voice entering the house. He must have stopped to talk to them, trying to distract them.Liam looks at the container, “What is it?” He asks and Hazel looks at him worried, before handing it over.Liam takes it from her hands, and his eyes widen as soon as he opens it, looking over at me. “Are we sure?” He asks, and I shrug. “Could she have gotten a similar one anywher

“He did what?” I whisper as Mia stands in the middle of the room looking between Liam and me. She looks at me with pity and says it again. “He Alpha commanded her.” She repeats and my eyes move to Walker like I need confirmation.I look over at Liam after Walker confirms it, and he looks at me worried before turning to look back at our friends. “She told you this?” They both shake their heads. “Finn and Randy told Cole, and he told us, and though Aspen wouldn’t confirm it, she’s really upset. I know something happened.” Mia explains, and my eyes close. How could he do this? He knows we don’t Alpha command people unless it’s necessary. “We’ll talk to him. And if he won’t fix it, I will.” Liam tells them and they both nod.“Why?” I ask them and Mia looks at me confused, but Walker understands. “He said she needed to respect his future Alpha and Luna.” Walker explains. While that is true, Aspen and Griffon have always pushed the limits when it comes to that. It’s not new for Aspen to tal
