Chapter 12 An Intimate Car Ride
Elle’s POV-
Elle woke up in the back seat of the roomiest SUV she had ever seen. The first thing she was aware of was the scent of new leather and black ice car freshener. Quiet 90’s rock played on the radio.
She laid back and watched the stars passing as they drove. The unfamiliar setting revealed no signs of danger. The day returned to her in patches as she let the stars soothe her.
None of what happened today made sense. But she remembered being with her mother and began to look around. She was alone in the back seat.
Sitting up, she looked towards the driver’s seat and asked sleepily, “Mom?”
