The sharp ringtone of the telephone forced me to look up from the script in my hand, and my lips stretched into a smile. I stood up and shuffled towards it, the script dangling in my hand.

I hesitated and watched it ring until it stopped, then it began to ring again.

I chuckled at how much I was leaving the caller in a state of cold sweat, then picked up the telephone after letting it ring four times with no answer.
