Seven's POV

“Stay here, Seven,” Demarco whispered.

He carefully lowered me onto a cold concrete bench near the garage exit. The moment he let go of me, my legs gave way completely. I barely managed to stay seated. The smoke had weakened me badly.

On top of that, I had spent so much energy trying to protect Kai from everything happening around us that I could hardly keep my eyes open. Demarco placed one hand against my cheek and searched my face with worried eyes.

Demarco's POV “Are you okay?” I asked as I returned to get Seven. She nodded in affirmation but I had a feeling that she was not fine all of a sudden. After some hours, our heavy armored vehicle came to a smooth stop inside the private underground garage of Seven’s hotel. I released a long breath. It felt like I had been holding it since the stairwell at the summit hotel exploded. We finally made it back. Our guards had secured the area, the coastal sector was under control, and Kai was safe. I turned in the back seat to look at Seven. She looked exhausted. Her face was pale beneath the dim lights, and she was wrapped tightly in her wool coat but when she unfastened her seat belt and reached for the door, her movements were restless and almost frantic. I was about to reach over and help her when she pushed the door open and climbed out. I followed her immediately, stepping forward to take her arm. She pulled away from me as if my touch had burned her. “Seven,” I began, mov

Seven's POV Harris stumbled backward and wiped the blood around his mouth with the back of his hand. He looked at the red stain on his sleeve. Then he turned toward Demarco.Seeing his younger brother standing between him and me seemed to make him even angrier. “She was my wife!” His shout filled the loading dock.Demarco didn't move. But Harris had already lost control. He charged at him, his fingers twisting into claws as he swung a wild punch toward Demarco's face.Demarco moved out of the way just in time.He caught Harris's arm and struck him hard in the ribs.A sharp crack echoed through the loading dock.Harris gasped, but the pain didn't stop him. He spun around and tried to tackle Demarco to the floor. Demarco blocked him, ducked beneath another wild punch, and struck him twice in quick succession. The first blow landed in Harris's upper stomach. The second one hit his jaw, releasing a loud crack. The force sent Harris stumbling backward. He struggled to catch his breath, c

On top of that, I had spent so much energy trying to protect Kai from everything happening around us that I could hardly keep my eyes open. Demarco placed one hand against my cheek and searched my face with worried eyes.“The main garage is full of Ashen Circle mercenaries,” he said quietly. “I need to clear a path to the armored vehicle and bring it around to this side door.”He brushed a strand of sweaty hair away from my face. “Keep your head down. I'll be back in less than two minutes.”“Demarco...” I struggled to catch my breath. “Please hurry.”My hands trembled as I pulled my wool coat tighter around my stomach. He gently squeezed my cheek. “I'll be right back.”Then he turned and disappeared into the shadows leading to the main park

  • GOODBYE ALPHA: YOUR BROTHER CHOSE ME   Saving Seven.

Seven's POV Panic took over me in one wash of nerves. I couldn't fight him physically. So I used the only thing I had left, my voice. I took a deep breath and then I screamed out my lungs. "DEMARCO!" My voice tore through the hallway. Harris froze for one brief second, his eyes flickered. Then we heard something, a crash that sounded like rock breaking on rock. Harris' head turned toward the end of the hallway. The double doors exploded open and Demarco stepped through, causing the doors at the end of the hallway to crash against the wall. Dust filled the air. Harris froze. I froze too. Then Demarco stepped through the opening. He wasn't running or shouting. He simply walked in like he wasn't bothered. And somehow, that was more frightening than anything else. He was back in his human form, but there was nothing ordinary about him. His black shirt was torn around the shoulders. There was dust across his face and blood on his arms. His chest rose and fell slowly but his eye

  • GOODBYE ALPHA: YOUR BROTHER CHOSE ME   Fractured Connections

Seven's POV Harry's hand slowly moved from my neck to my stomach. His large palm pressed against my belly through the thick wool of my coat. His hand was shaking. I didn't need to ask what he was doing to know he was searching for the bond that connected him to the child I was carrying. In our world, a father didn't need to touch his pregnant mate to know his child. The connection between a father and his unborn child was supposed to be natural. Strong. Impossible to miss. A father could feel his baby's heartbeat through the blood bond. Sometimes, he could even sense the baby's emotions. If Kai were Harris child, he would've known the moment he stepped into the room. He wouldn't need to search for anything but Harry was searching. His wolf aura had been tampered with. I winced in pain as his fingers pressed harder against my stomach. His eyes closed as he tried to focus through the effects of the dampening gas. I could see the sweat running down his face. He was struggling

  • GOODBYE ALPHA: YOUR BROTHER CHOSE ME   I Will Sink My Fangs Into You.

Seven's POV The air was thick with that nasty suppression smoke, and all I could feel was this burning, animalistic rage surging up from my gut right to my chest. Every single protective instinct in my body was screaming at me to unleash my wolf and tear these guys apart. I closed my eyes and reached deep inside for my inner wolf. Normally, it's like flipping a light switch. You don't even have to think about it. You just feel this sudden burst of heat in your blood, your bones give a quick crack, your teeth sharpen, and this huge wave of fur, muscle, and raw power just takes over in a split second. My eyes burned hot, turning that glowing, blood-red color, and I let out a low, dangerous growl from the back of my throat, bracing myself for the full transformation to hit. Except... nothing happened. I stood there totally frozen, trying to force the shift with every ounce of strength I possessed. I pushed harder, calling out to my wolf, screaming at it in my mind to wake u
