"Now that those two are gone," my father centered the focus of his gaze on me again, "let us now have a proper talk."

I mentally stomped on the emotions that rose inside me when Gunner left with Shawn and let my bravery take charge again.

"Talk? I don't think any of you are capable of that. Because if you guys were, then you would have talked to me first about the engagement and asked for my opinion before announcing it to everyone. Also, talking consists of more than one person speaking, which clearly isn't your style. You only listen to yourselves, never mind my opinion and my decisions."

"That's because your opinion is shitty, and you always make bad decisions," my mother said while grimacing, her arms crossed over her chest, which made me turn my attention on her.

I scoffed. "So, because my opinion does not align with yours, is it shitty? And when the fuck was I given a chance to make my own decision? It was always the two of you who made it!"

"And where did it lead you? To a brig

It was the final week before the wedding, and our home was always filled with chaos. Everyone was so busy, including me and Stephanie. Attending beauty appointments and doing the final wedding attire rehearsal were already tiring, but then adding a media circle was just pure exhaustion. There were so many times both Stephanie and I had almost given up and just forgotten about the facade we had been wearing for weeks, but thankfully, we were able to hold on.God, I can't do any more of this. If Gunner and I get married, I will make sure to make it simple. I don't want it to be grand, and then end up being so fucking exhausted."What are you thinking?" Stephanie, who was sitting on the chair which she had turned from facing my study table to facing my bed so she could look at me, asked. We were now inside my room, finally taking a well-needed rest from all the chaos."My future wedding with Gunner," I answered honestly, my eyes on the ceiling as I lay down on my bed with my arms and leg

"Do you think he heard that?" Layland asked me when he was finally able to breathe normally again. We were now lying on his bed, where we had our second round of sex, which ended fast like the first round.Usually, we would tease one another for cumming fast, but this time, we didn't. And it was because we both knew and understood that we missed each other so much, we couldn't hold back.I gathered him in my arms, pinning him to my body, making one of my arms his own pillow and my hand playing with his hair, while my other arm was on his waist. "Probably not. If they did, they would have come knocking on your door already, asking you what was going on."Since his face was plastered on my chest, he had to look up to look into my eyes. "What if they did, and we just did not hear them because we were busy and were concentrating on fucking?""Then they should have forced themselves into this room already, and we wouldn't have been able to have had our second round of sex," I said, but Lay

It'd been hours since the Abellas had left, and yet the anger inside me was still burning so fiercely. I've tried everything I could think of to calm myself and to kill the anger inside of me. I've taken a freezing cold shower, read my favorite MM erotic books, watched my favorite shows, and played some of my favorite video games, but none of them worked. I even thought of calling Gunner and pouring my heart out on him, but I knew even that wouldn't be enough for my anger to go away. I would probably just end up redirecting this anger on Gunner, and I don't want that to happen. That was why I've tried dealing with it on my own, but nothing just seemed to fucking work. I was still so fucking mad!I couldn't believe it—no, scratch that. I knew something like this was going to happen. I knew damn well that my parents, especially my father, were capable of doing such a thing. But still, hearing it straight from his mouth, and him acting like it weighed nothing, was still so fucking surpri

I looked at the call history of my phone worriedly. I had made so many outgoing calls in just one hour, and it was directed to only one person—Layland, who was not answering my calls.I knew he was fine. Lance and Rinaldo needed him, so I was sure that they wouldn't do anything. But the other part of my brain was telling me something else—that needing him does not mean they won't hurt them. Lance had done that so many times before, even though he needed Layland, so what would be the difference now? Because Layland needed to be in front of the camera all the time, which meant he had to look good all the time?"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" I was pacing inside my room. I can't fucking calm down no matter how much I try. I kept hearing those negative thoughts inside my head instead of the positive ones, and those were not really helping me at all. After another couple of failed outgoing calls to Layland, I tried to text him instead, asking if he's alright and to call me once he's seen my texts. I w

"How was the wedding preparation going on?" my father asked my mother."It's going well. Everything's going according to plan," my mother answered, her voice filled with excitement—one that I knew was not because she was happy helping prepare the wedding but because she was excited about bragging and showing our lavish lifestyle to so many people."Good. We can't have any more issues," my father said. And he didn't need to glance my way for me to know he was referring to the scene I made during the engagement.I almost rolled my eyes. He will really bring that up every chance he gets. It's like he wanted to keep reminding me that he thinks that I was a fuck-up and was also warning me not to do it again.I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if I had the chance. Embarrassing them has become my life mission now. But obviously, that chance had not arrived yet, so I said nothing, and instead, I let myself get busy with convincing myself that the food looked delicious and that I shou

  • GUARDED HEAT   CHAPTER 112.1 - LAYLAND

The tiresome, boring, and irritating days went on. Apparently, Gunner, Shawn, and now Ana too, needed more time to polish our plan. And so now, what was supposed to be only a few days became three weeks. And I was just informed that the day they will execute the plan will be on the exact day of my wedding with Stephanie, and that is why I feel like shit right now. And then there’s also my father informing me again about a dinner with the Abellas again here in our home, which just ruined my day and my mood more than they already were.I don’t mind having dinner with Stephanie. But with our parents? Fuck, I hate that so much. Every time we all had dinner together, I always ended up not being able to eat—not that it was new because that had been happening since Gunner and I had been apart—and my mood would turn more sour. I don’t even know how I was able to stay sitting and smile fakely at the Abellas all throughout every dinner when all I wanted to do was go inside my room and talk to G
