A Game Of Hard To Get

This is by far going to be the most exciting but most torturing challenge yet. That is, if I can even get past the first week of it, how do you even play hard to get in a damn coffee shop. Sometimes I really do wonder about the advice that Tajsa gives.

But I need not wonder too long cause that is when I see her. She is standing across the room at a small round table with whom I guess is Jo and some other friend. She is dressed in a tight mini red dress with knee-high stiletto boots. Every curve of her body is accentuated, a perfect hourglass figure with that tight ass and breasts firm and more enough than my hand full. She is goddamn hot, and now I want her even more.

"She is goddamn beautiful."

"What are you mumbling to yourself?" Mason asks.

"The girl from the coffee shop. She and her friends are over there."

"Damn, they are hot," Brody agrees.

"They are off-limits until I get my girl."

"How can you say that?" Mason protests.

And Brody joins in. "She is the bet, not her friends."

"How do you think I must get her if you piss off her friends?"

"We not going to piss off her friends." Mason insists.

"Then what do you call hump her and dump her then?"

"I see it more like take her and lose her." Brody and his wise-ass add.

"You guys are disgusting."

"Listen to him."

"Whatever. Go do it somewhere else until I get what is mine."

I watch her; she has no idea that she is even being watched. She has a way that she wraps her lips over the bottle top, a way that she tucks her hair behind her ear when it falls into her eyes and a way she throws her head back when she laughs. At times she is quiet and listens, and at others, she is loud and makes sure everybody else listens to her. She is hot, and she is beautiful; looking at her, the way she carries herself and her body is driving me wild. I want her, she is out of my reach, but I want her. I am so wrapped in my own thoughts that I do not notice that I am now downright rude and just staring.

The next thing I feel is Brody's hand smack right down onto my shoulder.

"Close your damn mouth. You are drooling. And giving us a bad name."

"You already have a bad name; you don't need me to give you one."

"Are you going to sit here and wet the floor, or are you going to talk to her?"

"Tajsa said I must ignore her."

"You seriously not going to listen to Tajsa?" Mason asks.

"Yes, I am."

"Do I need to remind you why we broke up?" Brody asks.

"You cheated on her."

"No, I did not!"

"They had a lack of communication.' Mason adds.

"And now you want to create a lack before you even started."

"I am not creating anything. She is starting it."

"How so?"

"If I ignore her, she is going to want me."

"And then?"

"She will let me ask her out."

"I don't see how this is going to work for you," Mason says.

"Yes, remind me not ever to buy one of your self-help books." Brody laughs.

"Do you two asses have any better ideas?"

"I have not given it thought. And I don't think I am going to either. Do whatever tickles you; just remember you got a week."

"Technically, six full days and a tiny bit left of tonight." Brody thinks he is too damn smart.

"I am so glad I have the two of you as friends; I mean, really what I would have even done without you."

"Sarcasm does not suit your face." is the only comeback that Mason has got.

"And what has happened to brotherly love?" Brody and his dumb ass come closer to hug me.

"Stop grinding my ass, I am ignoring her, and that's it."

It most probably is the dumbest advice in the world, but it is not like my dumb ass knows what to do anyway. The possibility that this is blowing up in my face is closer to me than my next shave. What's the worst that can go wrong? I lose my reputation, which oh, I have already done.

The bickering at our table has attracted some attention, not like we don't normally do, but this time just a bit more than usual, which brings us three damn hot girls walking over to our table. Now Tajsa said no trying to pick up any woman, did that mean no touching too? Maybe at least kissing? How is a man supposed to function with a hot chick that has her ass on your lap, and you can do nothing. This was a dumb ass bet.

As the perky blonde settles herself on my lap, our table finally catches the eyes at hers. Looking like I am not looking at her, I can see she has a very amused smirk playing at the corners of her lips. Her eyes are seeking mine, looking, and waiting for an acknowledgment. But I ignore her as best as I can. And as I said, this is a dumb idea because our eyes eventually do lock.

When they lock, it sends an incredible warm fuzziness through my body. I feel a smile spread over my face; I swear if it were not for my ears, it would be right around my head. Ignoring her has officially failed. Where to now, I have a hot girl on my lap and another gorgeous smiling at me. What more can a man want. I only want one thing now.

I ditch the blonde and make my brave ass over to her table with two whiskeys in my hand, which I am assuming that she drinks. The closer I get, the more nervous I become. I feel like I am a teenager. I stop mere inches away from their table, I have no idea what I am doing, but I am doing it.

"I been watching you suck on that bottle for an hour; I thought that maybe you'd much rather want to suck on this."

"What makes you think I drink whiskey?"

"Well, you not saying that you don't."

"Maybe I am being polite."

"I don't think you know how to be polite."

"And what makes you say that?"

"I don't call putting me down so bluntly this morning anything near polite."

"Is that what you call it? Somehow I think you, not a man that is used to rejection."

"I am a man that gets what he wants; I don't get rejected."

"And what do you want from me?"

"Please come sit at our table?”

"As I said before, I do not date clients."

“I said nothing about dating; it is just a drink. What do you say?"

"Maybe another time, we were on our way out."

"Then I guess I will see you around."

"Then, I guess I will."

I turn around to leave the table, but I stop.

"Can you at least tell me what your name is then?"

"It is Skye."

"It's nice to have met you, Skye."

"Thanks for the whiskey, Damon."

"I am surprised you remember my name."

"As I said, I have heard of your reputation."

I turn back to go to my table.

"See you soon, Skye."

With one big smile on my face, I return back to my table. I might not have ignored her, but I think I made her feel that it does not bug me that she did not say yes. The thing is, it did, and I hate to sound desperate, but I am. If I can't get something I want, it frustrates me; it drives me so wild I feel that I can go stir crazy. This girl is making me go stir crazy now.

I only have six days left to ask her out, and so far, she has already said no to me twice. If she says no only once tomorrow, then I'd say we are making progress. I am confident that before the week is done, she would be the one doing the asking.
