Chapter 8

Jackie had only gotten a few hours sleep. She couldn’t do anything for Jodi and the rest until morning. Since it was Sunday, she called her lawyer, Lester Jenkins at home. He was more than willing to meet her at his law office since it was an emergency. Barbara had gone to the jail to let Jodi and the rest know that Jackie was trying to find them an attorney.

Jackie sat across from Lester Jenkins as she explained everything from the beginning and what had happened last night. Lester had been her parents’ attorney and now her and Jodi’s. He’s known the twins since they were babies, so coming clean about their morally questionable enterprise was hard for her, but she needed help. Plus, he was the only defense attorney in town. There had been two others, but they closed their offices a few months after the crash. If she couldn't get Lester's help, she would have to drive into Phoenix.
