Chapter Thirty Nine

Good morning, My Lord. " Jenny nodded and smiled at Callum as they passed each other in the hallway.

"Morning, " He walked down and paused. "Jenny?"

"Yes, Sir?"

"Have you seen Oliver today?" 

"No, Sir." 

"Huh...that’s strange. He was supposed to accompany me to Piccadilly later."

"He said it's his day off today, My Lord."

"No, it can't have been today. Are you sure?"

"It's today, Sir." Jenny said, "Oh, but he also said he'd left a note for you in your study. Just in case you asked."

Callum nodded.

 "I see then. Thank you. Have a good day, Jen."

"Good day to you too, your Lordship. "

She bowed and disappeared down the long corridor. 

Callum went straight to the library lounge. The first thing he saw was the envelope, lying on the table. He couldn't wait to finish reading the note before going for the ribbon, wrapped around the big black box next to the letter.
