Mag-log inTessa
Logan's wish to sleep in separate bedrooms was the last nail on my pride, it wasn't only heartbreaking but also humiliating because he wanted to avoid any possible proximity between us,
I agreed to move out of our bedroom last night. I cleaned the small bedroom where I decided to stay for the remaining days, kept thinking about my future for the most of the night after that and didn't realize that I slept on the sofa causing me a backache when I woke up.
Once I signed the divorce papers, I'd be left with nothing. So, I applied for job in different companies.
But at the same time, it wasn't easier because it had been over four years since I quit my last job and chose to devote my time to my family.
"Mommy!" A frightened Lucas ran inside and hugged me.
"What happened, baby?" I got panicked and hugged him back.
"You were not in your room. I searched you everywhere and you are here in guestroom. Why were you not in Dad's room?" He sobbed and looked at me with sadness.
I bit my inner mouth. How could I lie to an innocent soul?
"I was having back ache on the mattress in our room so I thought a change of place might help." I lied through my teeth,
He blinked his big eyes at me. He still didn't look convinced,
"You won't leave me and Dad, right?" He asked me the question I had been dreading to hear from him.
"No, I am not leaving you. Don't think too much. Come, let me help you to get ready for school." I tried to divert the subject and led him back to his room.
It seemed it was getting more difficult for me to keep lying to Lucas.
No sooner I sent Lucas to his kindergarten, I received a call from my uncle and he ordered me to come to their house.
I had to be prepared for another round of drama at their house but I had no other choice because I didn't want them to come to my house and create unnecessary drama at my house and humiliate me in front of my house staff.
“Why are you not leaving Logan’s life already, you ungrateful brat?”
My aunt’s shrill voice bled my eardrums and I spotted the Cowper family present in the living room, sitting on the sofa so comfortably like they owned the place, it was my parents' house, Once, I used to live a very happy life but it was a long, forgotten memory.
"Auntie, please, keep your voice down because I am not here to take your insults." I said in a firm voice and in the next moment, a hard slap from her stung my cheek.
The intensity caused me to stumble and my elbow hit the corner of a table. It hurt but I didn’t show it on my face.
"How dare you to order me! You have stolen my daughter's place but not anymore. I want you to leave so Logan can marry Ray sooner. My daughter has suffered enough." Susan hissed in anger.
Raelynn was soaking in tears. Her eyes shone when she watched her mother unleashing her hatred upon me.
I scanned her from tip to toe. Her body was smooth, flawless and there was no sign of living a struggling life. It seemed like she walked out of a salon, her hairs looked shiny.
Only her parents and Logan could believe her snobby story. I couldn’t forget the moment I caught her talking to her ex-boyfriend in hospital alley and how they were frightened when they thought I’d tell everyone.
“But you lied to my son. He deserves to know that I am his mother, not an imposter like you, Tessa. You manipulated my son against me. He doesn’t remember me.” Raelynn wailed.
“He was just a toddler when you disappeared, Ray. How can you expect him to remember you? And don’t you ever question my love for him. I treated him just like I would have loved my own child.” I reminded her.
She was only talking in absurdity.
"Tessa, I called you here because I need you to sign the divorce papers and leave Logan Wilfed." My uncle said in a serious tone and rose from his chair, “I let you marry him when my daughter wasn’t here, it was a favour but don’t get used to it. It was never your place.”
I chuckled humourlessly.
“You did a favour on me?” I laughed, “You treated me just as a pawn to establish links with the Wilferds for your own advantage, Uncle. I was just a liability for you and marrying me off to your daughter’s fiancé was an easier way to get rid of me.”
My response made him even more furious.
“Don’t forget that if it wasn’t me and your aunt, you’d be a poor orphan rotting God knows where. So, be grateful and do as I say. You must divorce Logan as soon as possible.”
"It doesn't sound good from your mouth. Both you and I know that you can never be satisfied even after seizing my father's wealth. You and your family have been living on the hard work’s fruit left by my parents. So, be grateful and stop meddling in my life." I retorted back at him.
The girl who used to respect and fear him was gone. I had nothing to lose anymore.
I was just a burden imposed upon them by my father who trusted his sister and her husband. They became my guardian. They slowly took everything under their power, leaving me with nothing but on their charity until I married Logan.
“Tessa, how could you be so mean to us? I don’t want you in Logan’s life anymore. You stole him from me four years ago and now my son.” Raelynn scoffed.
“Logan already gave me two weeks and I’ll only leave when these fourteen days will be over. I do not you and your family to bring this subject again because it won’t change anything.” I said with finality in my voice.
“You’ll regret being this stubborn. Live this luxurious life for another few days because once the title of ‘Mrs. Wilferd’ will be stripped off, you’ll be nothing but a rat in the streets.” My uncle smirked.
His derogative remark cut deeper through my heart.
“Don't worry, Uncle. Even if I'd have to beg on the streets, I won't come to you and please, forget about the idea of threatening me again because it won't work on me anymore. I was never after their wealth and when I am leaving, I won't take a penny from Logan." I said firmly.
He shot me a glare.
They looked ready to kill me.
“It was a warm homecoming..” I said in a mocking tone and was about to leave when my phone rang.
With trembling hands. It was from Lucas' nanny, I put it near against my ear.
“Hello?” I frowned because I could see hushed voices from other side.
“Hello, Mrs. Wilferd. It's about Lucas! We picked him from the school and when we stopped by the bakery to buy him the cookies he wanted, he just slipped out of the car. We have searched everywhere but he isn’t anywhere in the neighbourhood. We’re scared.” I heard the nanny sobbing on the phone and my blood ran cold.
Lucas was missing.
TessaTwo pink lines on the sticks left no room for any doubt.I was pregnant.I took four tests and they all turned out positive means I was indeed pregnant.“Tessa, are you okay? If you need some time to yourself then I can leave you alone.” Ruby’s low voice broke the eerie silence inside the bathroom. It was her who bought me the pregnancy test kits and insisted that I should confirm my doubts while I was constantly rejecting her assumptions but it turned out that she was right.“I am fine, Ruby. The truth won’t change.” I sighed and collected the sticks. I couldn’t risk it throwing in the restroom dustbin. It was also a special symbol because I had never taken one before because I used to be on pills and Logan always used protection before except the last two times when he left his seeds inside me.And now a new life was growing inside me.“I shouldn’t be asking you this but..are you happy?” Ruby asked with a mixture of hesitation and concern.I shook my head.“I don’t know but I
Tessa“I love you, Mommy.” Lucas kissed my cheek.“Mommy loves you too, Lukie. Now go or your teacher will scold you.” I patted his head as he was about to enter inside the gates of the school.“Are we going to the beach in the evening? Please, don’t break the promise like last time.” I asked me for confirmation.“Yes, Lucas. I promise we won’t ditch you this time.” I pinched my throat to symbolize my promise.Last time, after our heartfelt moment, we decided to go to the beach but Kevin felt sick so we had to visit him in that evening. After that both I and Logan got busy in our respective works. It was Friday and we had the weekend to find family time for Lucas’ sake.Parenting for me and Logan became like walking on egg shells ever since we told Lucas the truth about Raelynn. It was too harsh for a small kid but he took it patiently but his clinginess doubled. He didn’t let me go of his sight.I felt lighter because hiding the truth from him was also wrong.Upon reaching office, I
Logan Lucas was sitting in front of me, his head lowered and hands folded. He was an obedient boy who agreed to talk to me but I could tell that he was very upset with me and it was visible in his actions.“Lucas, for how long are you going to avoid me like this?I sighed in exasperation because it was more challenging than I thought.“Dad, I am angry.” He confessed. My boy was honest with his thoughts and opinion and never sugar coat anything.“With me or Raelynn?” I asked because it was important for me to know before I tried to do the damage control.“Both. I don’t like her because she is mean to Mom and she tries to come close to you. I am not a fool, Dad.” He replied.“Lucas, please, don’t use such strong word because there’s something you need to know about Raelynn. I and your Mom tried to tell you this but we were afraid of losing you.” I said.My heart was beating with nervousness. He finally looked up.“Dad…” His eyes showed the same fear and he squirmed on his seat.“Raelyn
Logan I felt like a weight had been lifted from my heart when I expressed what I had been feeling for a long time.I might still be in love with Raelynn but I couldn’t deny that I developed feelings for Tessa as well. It couldn’t be deciphered. This was my biggest problem because I had to choose one.Either Raelynn who had waited for me patiently, the woman who made me familiar with the world ‘love’.Or it’s Tessa, my arranged wife who silently left a permanent imprint on my life. Her actions spoke louder than her words. A woman who devoted herself without expecting anything from me in return.A woman whom I trust with my son blindly because no one could love Lucas like she did.I tilted my head and stared at the innocent beauty who was sleeping peacefully beside me. A smile involuntarily spread on my lips because Felix’s advice finally made sense to me.He was right. I couldn’t live happy if I had to imagine a life without Tessa. Her face twitched when her hair strands fell on her f
TessaMy heart was pounding rapidly inside my chest like it’d explode any moment when he said that I was his wife and our differences actually affected him.No words were needed between us. I could read through those eyes.Something had shifted but I needed to hear it from him.“Be careful with your words, Logan.” I warned him a low voice but instead of my warnings, he closed the gap between us.“I meant what I said, Tessa. I hate it when someone tries to get close to you and it had made me realise how you would have felt when you saw me with Raelynn. We’re married, no matter what the circumstances were, our relationship comes with this natural feeling of hurt and insecurity.”I looked away to hide my tears from him because it was true.“But it’s too late for this realisation, Logan. The damage is already done and I have dealt with my pain.” I said without any emotion.“I am sorry.”Three words said with depth made me speechless.“Logan, say it when you actually feel it otherwise this
TessaLucas, who shouted on Raelynn, rushed towards them and before they could process anything, he glared at her with crossed hands.“Ms. Cowper, you should have some manners. Touching my Dad isn’t appropriate. He is my Mom’s husband.” He lectured his biological mother whose jaws hung low while I was also in shock.Lucas was barely five and he could speak like an adult.“Luke, behave. She is my friend and she was only helping me.” Logan interjected.I wanted to laugh on his shamelessness because she wouldn’t have touched him if he hadn’t allowed her.“Lucas, let’s go to your room and change your clothes. Your Dad must have an important business to discuss with his friend.” I called out Lucas because I’d not interfere, he’d feel more upset. Finally, Logan’s eyes my cold ones. The man had audacity to play with two women at the same time.“Tessa, why is he behaving like this to me. It’s rude. You’re spoiling him.” Raelynn made a crying face.Lucas frowned at me but he couldn’t disobey m
Tessa The ride back home was filled with heavy awkwardness. We didn’t stay for long at the party because Lucas was tired and he had school next day. Lucas was sitting between us so it gave me some space to breathe normally. Logan’s intense stares whenever Adrian tried to talk to me, even he was o

Tessa Walking aimlessly in at the riverbank, rewinding Logan’s declarative words and also sinking the infused humiliation, I didn’t know for how long I blamed myself for bringing this upon myself. The young, naïve girl who wanted to marry the love of her life, who was confident that one day her lo
Logan“Logan, how’s this one? I’ll place it on the centre table of the living room.”Raelynn’s exciting voice pulled me out of my reverie and I looked up at her who was holding a marble décor piece in her hands, waiting for my opinion.“It’s beautiful. Your choice is always the best. Please, don’t
