Hannah was lying on her bed. Her body is drained, but sleep still eludes her.

No matter how much she works herself to exhaustion, the longing and the endless despair of losing Bridget still drowns her in pain.

Nights are as sleepless as always. The only thing she’s thankful for now is that she’s alone and can cry herself to sleep. She doesn’t want to burden her friends anymore as they’ve done enough to help her.

This is also why she forbade Clarise from moving in with her and needed to come up with a lie that the Miller family might target them. It’s a lie she made up. She knew the Miller family would no longer be interested in her, as everything that connected her to Xander was gone.
