Prompt 33: Harvest God and His Sacrifice/Fantasy

FL:

Background: An orphan who’s been adopted into the village. She doesn’t know where she’s coming from or the life outside the village. It is strictly prohibited to step outside, or even test the boundary. The village is as peaceful as it can be, there was never food shortage or plague, the rain is clear as crystal, and the spring is sweet as dew. However it all comes with a price, Every year they sacrifice a virgin to the harvest god in exchange of his blessing. The chosen ones are never to be seen or heard again. Words on the street are that the god consumed their flesh.

Inciting Incident: FL lives an ordinary life in the village, until she’s been chosen to be the new sacrifice the day before her wedding day. She’s been groomed, tied up and being escorted to the altar in a designated place. Once everyone else retreated, she was there alone, waiting for the new master. Her future seems bleak.

Below are optional character profiles

1. The cold and cruel local God who protects and isolates the village as a power source. When he meets FL by the altar, she reminds him of a woman who has helped him centuries ago when he was weak and abandoned. Therefore he let her live and gradually FL melts his heart as a stone as she brings liveliness into his life.

2. He is a chaotic being who has been here alone for centuries. He mastered immersive power but has been left alone since he has memories. Therefore he has no idea of the nuances and complications in the human world, doing everything by instinct, treating the whole village as his toy like tin soldiers. However everything changed until FL showed up, she managed to stay calm though frightened, and taught him so much about human emotion.

 

Potential Developments:

Is FL being chosen as a sacrifice a conspiracy? Who plotted it and why? It could be another girl being chosen but forced upon her?? How do they choose their sacrifice, what's the rule and ritual??

FL’s fiancee has his soon-to-be wife taken away just before the wedding day, surely there’s no way he wouldn’t hold grudges. What would he do and plan to take revenge on a God?? Surely he would need supernatural helpers or tools.

Think about the villain, who would be strong enough to be the villain, maybe a cult demon?? There are varied options. There might be conspiracy underneath concerning ML or FL’s identity.

 

Questions to ask:

The world setting and character setting, especially their prehistory

Why would the village want to isolate themselves and seek protection? How long has this been going on? Who are they originally?

What happened to the trespassers and adventurers who made an attempt to go outside of the village?

What happened to the virgins sacrificed before?? Are they dead or not?

What are the conflicts for every character?? (inner, external, romance)
