Sorry for the delay. I was working on a stock pile and lost track of time. Tomorrow’s update will be sooner. Thanks for your support.
There was already a pool of tears in Samantha’s eyes, and she was shivering from fear from the way Gabriel gawked at her. It was as if he was seeing a rare kind of dangerous animal. Perhaps she should have remained faithful to him for the trust he had for her. All along, she thought that Gabriel did not care about her but was just realizing that he trusted her too much and did not deserve this betrayal. His relationship with her was formal, but in that formality, he would have stood by her. Samantha was fidgeting with her fingers while her pool of tears fell. She pleaded earnestly, “I didn’t want to do it because I loved you, but you never looked at me. It was always her,” Samantha glared at Maeve, who had a sweet smile on her face. Then Maeve’s words in the kitchen from last week rang in her ears, “You won’t know what’s coming before it hits you.” Samantha wondered if Maeve was the one who changed the documents at the last moment, but Maeve was not so smart, so how was that even p
Gabriel was making changes to the job description of the new secretary he requested to send to HR while waiting for his coffee when Dylan barged into his office. He did not knock, looked angry and a little sweaty, as if he had used the stairs instead of the elevator to Garvin’s office. “Where is Maeve?” Dylan bellowed. The text message Garvin sent caused a stir in his heart, and he was afraid that what he was feeling for Maeve was even more than just the money he wanted from her. Her avoidance of him lately has caused him to think about her a lot of times, taking his sleep away. Gabriel ignored him as if he did not exist, making him angry. He had dialed Gabriel’s number countless times after receiving the message, but the scam’s number was not going through, which meant he had blocked Dylan. Also, Dylan had not heard from Kor and the two men concerning the deal with Gabriel, and he did not see Samantha at her post to ask her question
In the elevator, the few staff members inside with Dylan were dumbstruck, wondering what he did to deserve this from their CEO himself. They could also not call the cops for fear of being fired by Gabriel. Dylan was lying on the floor of the elevator, groaning in pain and all they could do was gawk while some of them took snapped pictures. When they stepped out of the elevator, one of them informed security, and only then was Dylan’s body conveyed to the hospital. Left to himself, he would just remain where he was and keep groaning in pain. Due to what Maeve did to Gabriel, everyone knew that Dylan Grayson was her fiance, so one of the security men called her while she was in Gabriel’s office. Maeve did not know the number and thought it might be business related, so she answered the call. “Miss Maeve Cambridge, we found your fiancé in the elevator and sent him to the hospital.” “What happened to him?” Maeve asked in a faked, nervous tone. Gabriel looked in her direction and frown
Gabriel loved the way her countenance proved how guilty she was, and he was enjoying it a lot. He observed the redness around her ears and how she was trying to suddenly avoid his gaze. Gabriel had only guessed but once again realized it was the truth. He could not imagine the reason she sent that message to Dylan when she claimed to love him. Gabriel shook his head at the mystery surrounding Maeve, not able to put a finger on what she was up to. Maeve did not see a way of coming out of this web unscathed, so she decided to avoid the entire conversation and rather asked, “Can we get something to eat? I’m starving.” Garbriel started the car at the mention of her starving. Then again, how could she have an appetite to eat when her fiancé was in such a terrible condition? Gabriel was searching for answers, but Maeve was not giving any, and when they arrived at the restaurant, she was eating as if starved and as if nothing had
“They should be processed to court and jailed. I would get someone to fake their death while helping them to escape from prison so they’d live a new life,” Dylan said thoughtfully. It was not easy for him to get people he could trust to carry out his dirty deals, so he had very good plans for them, even when things didn't go as planned.Whereas Sandra was still concerned about the financial aspect. “That is going to be too expensive.” Dylan had a smile on his face. It was just unfortunate that he could not move around as he wished due to the pain induced when he did. “This case would take at least two months. I told my lawyer to drag it for that long, and I would have been married to Maeve by then.” Sandra’s smile froze. It was in the plan to marry Maeve, but hearing it again, she felt a little uncomfortable by the way Dylan’s eyes lit up when he talked about it. Usually, his eyes would dull with some form of disgust. “She only came to visit a few times. Do you think she’d agree
The weekend at home was boring without Gabriel coming to visit, and Maeve had lost interest in her favorite swimming activity. She wondered how she never realized how much Gabriel meant to her in her past life because his being away was like taking a part of her along with him. Dylan could still not walk by himself, so Maeve had plenty of freedom. Giving her parents an excuse, she went to visit Doreen. This time around, she drove there by herself without her spy driver noticing. Gladly, Doreen was glad to see her. “Maeve, how are you?” Doreen asked with a surprised smile when she opened the door. She had slept late, thereby waking up late as well. She was just doing some chores when her doorbell rang. “I’m very fine,” Maeve walked in and hugged Doreen whiles she spoke. She looked around and realized that Dexter’s pictures had been taken down but did not immediately comment on them. Doreen was finishing up her cleaning whiles she spoke, “Gabby told me what he did to Dylan. I guess
Gabriel went to give some instructions to his new secretary, Gloria. Reaching there, he realized that he had left his phone on his desk and returned to pick it up since there were some contacts he had to give her. Knowing that Maeve was on a call, he opened the door gently to not distract her. “Yeah, you are right. I can’t wait for us to get married, but I still have to watch the scam. What if he tells my dad to refuse our plans to get married?” “Dylan, I chose you over him, and I’m wearing your ring when his is in the sewage. You are the only man I love.” Maeve was facing the French windows behind Gabriel’s desk, so her back was turned, and she did not see nor hear it when Gabriel entered. Hearing those words from her and knowing they were to Dylan, Gabriel felt his legs shaky, and he closed the door without picking up the phone like he had wanted to do before. He returned to reception and told the secretary, “I will send them to you later.” The secretary nodded her head, not kn
“Please call and tell them to cancel the trip. Tell them you have to take care of me. Please Mom and Dad, I need you here with me.” Reginald and Cynthia were confused about their daughter’s behavior. They knew her to always be non-serious about the company, saying that Dylan would take care of it but for a few weeks, she has been serious. Now, she was sick, and as much as they wanted to be there for her, she was an adult so a doctor could be called to take care of her, and with her maid around, they could go on their business trip and come back. Whereas the desperation in her voice made Reginald and Cynthia helpless but indeed, their daughter’s life mattered more to them than any money in the world and Maeve had paled so much suddenly, it scared them. Reginald tried calling his counterparts to tell them about the change of plans but the call was not going through, which could mean they had already reached the airport and were waiting in the private jet. Not only were Reginald and
