Chapter 42 – It's true that I have feelings for you

Doreen raked her mind to find a suitable excuse. She got one, not knowing if it was good enough. “They were from magazines.”

Dexter laughed and Doreen felt embarrassed. He felt the texture and knew those pictures were not from magazines.

Besides, from which magazine could one get so many pictures of Dexter alone? Dexter was a businessman and not a model.

“And they are all my pictures?”

Doreen felt awkward at the way he caught her lies so fast. “I have work to do. There is a lot of pressure with sales.”

She was about to stand when Dexter held her by the hand across the conference table. Doreen stiffened as if his touch burned her, and she quickly withdrew her hand.

Dexter was lavishing in the warmth of her hand and when she withdrew it, he was saddened but also grateful that she did not leave like she wanted.

“Doreen, please. Be honest with me for this once. Do you feel anything for me? I mean, forget that I was once your boss. Did you perhaps feel any attraction towards me?”
