2 Good Morning Myra...

Good morning Myra…

In the middle of a dense forest, a girl was running for her life chased by two huge beasts. She was terrified and her body and soul shivered as she fell on the rocky ground and stumbled, hitting a rock on her path.

It was dark but the moonlight reflected from the shiny surface of the earth was enough to see those crystal red eyes gazing at her. She gulped in that lump in her throat as she gaped at those scary mouths dripping saliva.

Gasping for breath she crawled behind as fast as possible, her heart was pounding as if it was about to bust out of her rib cage. Wherever she crawls those two came approaching her slowly step by step she could feel their footsteps coming forward as if they were playing a game with her. She tried moving heretofore until she could but soon her body froze as her sweaty back bumped into a tree.

There was nowhere to go, her hands, her legs, and her body all seems to be frozen out of anxiety,

"Is this my end?" she felt her heart seems to stop for a while.

Finding it difficult to feel, she closed her eyes not to be further terrified by those droopy scary mouths of those wolves coming for her.

"No...! Please...!" she cried a lot, begging for her life but suddenly she curled and a strong base hit her butt.

"aahhh..."

She shouted as she fell from her bed, a broken bench at the corner of the kitchen, the only place left for her in a four-floor building, huge as a palace and beautiful as a wonderland.

She rubbed her eyes and brushed her back in shock and looked around to check if that was just a nightmare or if those scary things really happened to her.

Even though it was a nightmare, it felt so real and scary that her heart was still pacing and her forehead was wet with the sweat oozing out.

"Was that a dream? Oh...My...! It was so real, God save me from that kind of creature" she sighed while sitting on the bench there her mind still roaming around those things she saw.

"Good morning darling..." A voice entered the door dripped with love and affection. She shifted her gaze to find a figure emerging in.

"Good morning Mrs. Gudino," said Myra grinning at her.

Mrs. Gudino was the caretaker of the kitchen, responsible for all the things in the kitchen and the house as well.

"Did you sleep here, darling? Was that a good sleep, my dear?" Mrs. Gudino asked concerned,

"Yeah...! At least I don't have to share this with anyone," said Myra in a sad tone,

"Oh darling, don't take it to heart, I know you are sad but..."

"Sad...! I feel like puking on them, they said one week and it's about a year but they haven't left yet, dam these relatives, I just hate them" Myra sniffed in annoyance.

Mrs. Gudino chuckled approaching her while hearing her calmly.

"No, darling, you shouldn't say that they are here for the ceremony and they'll leave after that"

"Yeah, that ceremony, it's today right, it's my ceremony and I haven't bought a dress yet, and look at them, all the shopping malls in the city are here in their bags...! hoo...!" she hissed in anger and sniffed the warm air out. "I can't believe this...!"

There was someone at the door and Myra stopped complaining glancing at the door seriously.

"So you are up," a girl walked in sneering at Myra, "I hope you had a great sleep, with your mates, Huh? Cockroaches, rats, were they fun? ha... ha.. ha..cinderella...!"

That was Myra's cousin, Sarah, who came here to piss her off.

"Oh, shut up Sarah or I'll punch you a red" smacked Myra getting up to go out.

"Well, I am not here to fight with you anyways, Cinderella, I am here to drink water, you can enjoy your time sleeping in here, bye" Sarah left the kitchen grabbing a bottle out of the fridge.

Myra slammed her leg on the floor,

"I can't believe I didn't punch her even after hearing that, uhh..." she snorted furiously.

Mrs. Gudino was watching the whole scene from the corner, she strolled closer to Myra, while caressing her cheek affectionately. It was Myra's sixteenth birthday and that poor girl had no good things in her life except for getting pissed off by her cousin.

"Hmm.... so what will my Princess like to eat on her sixteenth birthday?" Mrs. Gudino said dripping her words with affection to cool her down. When it comes to food, Myra's mood gets better just like that.

"Hmm... the same, my favorite egg tarts,"

"Order taken ma'am, just go get ready...!" said Mrs. Gudino laughing louder.

"Yep, I'll be back after getting fresh", Myra strode away to her room.

Taking up the stairs she reached her room, the paradise for normal people. Her room was not less than that of a bedroom for a Disney Princess but still, Myra slept on that broken bench not because she was forced to but because she was there because she didn't want to share her room with Sara.

As she opened the door, her eyes widened and anger dazed her senses.

"Aaaahh...!That trash...!" her room was a mess, "Sarah I am gonna kill you today....", she shrieked with anger, as Sarah strolled out of the bathroom,

"Shut up Myra it was your puppy who did this, I told you to take him along, but you didn't listen to me, did you?", said Sarah carelessly fetching her dress from the cupboard.

"This is the limit of my patience you creep, get the hell out of here....," Myra shouted in agony.

Sarah got into her dress and moved away mumbling,

"It's just a matter of few days and then I'll be the one to stay here anyways, why the hell are you creating such a ruckus, huh?"

"What..? what do you mean by that?" Myra lunged at her stopping her from getting g out without an explanation. She knew that Sarah loves to irritate her but this time Sarah sounded so firm, Why?

"Don't tell me you don't know," Sarah asked surprised, her eyes boring staring into hers.

"Know what?" Myra asked,

"You are sixteen now and according to the elders, you'll get married now ", said Sarah sarcastically,

"Oh...Yeah...! I know," Myra said irritatingly,

Sarah was shocked as to how could Myra, a girl who makes a scene out of anything, took such a serious thing so easily.

"You know?" Sarah exclaimed.

A sarcastic smirk tugged at the corner of Myra's lips and she swirled around in the room,

"I know that you need a psychiatrist and you have gone mad, you creep", Myra was successful in pissing her off, as she let out her sarcastic mock, Sarah fumed and threw the pillow at her,

"You dare say that, Huh...? You'll get to know tonight", said Sarah teasingly,

"Cut the crab and get the hell out of here Sarah," snorted Myra, opening the door for her, Sarah went out glaring at her anger evident in her gaze.

"You will get to...!" Myra slammed the door at

Sarah's face jerked her back.

Though Myra didn't believe what Sarah said, those words keep roaming in her ears.

"What...! Getting married, who gets married at sixteen....! That witch, She can say anything...! Just to annoy me"

She strode to the bathroom to take a beauty bath but those creepy words were still making her uncomfortable.

"Why did I even hear that...!" She closed her ears with her hands as they felt ringing with them, "I should divert my thoughts, I must think about something else...!"

She came out of her bathroom in a bathrobe and was searching for a dress to wear when there was a knock at the door,

"Who's that?" she asked irritatingly, covering herself properly thinking that it might be Sarah or someone from their gang to piss her off again. But to her surprise, an elderly voice of a lady echoed with authority.

"May I come in?" Myra strolled towards the door opening it instantly.

"Do you need a permit, Grandma? Can't you just come in?" Myra said annoyingly.

It was a rare thing to happen, she couldn't infer why her grandmother was here without notice and surprisingly, talked to her in a very respectful voice, it never happened though.

Grandma moved in with several servants, carrying several dresses and many things, and asked them to keep them in. As the servants stood aside, she turned to Myra and asked her,

"Choose one of them, Myra," her words were straight and serious.

For a while, Myra's mind swirled in a mixture of thoughts. As her gaze fell on those beautiful dresses, dominating one another. Even a dress designed for a wedding might not be so much heavy and beautiful.

She wondered if Sarah's words might be true because those dresses were really elegant as if some kind of royal attire.

"But why, it's just a birthday party, Grandma, A common party, Isn't it?" Myra inquired hesitatingly.

Her grandma looked hesitant, she was hiding something for sure, that made Myra's heart uneasy to see all this. She came forward taking a long breath.

"What happened grandma?" she insisted on knowing the answer, "if you don't tell me, there is no way that I'll attend the ceremony," said Myra seriously,

Grandma heaved a sigh,

"It's nothing, Myra, You don't have to bother, and these dresses were sent by your aunts as a birthday gift for you," Grandma turned around to leave while adding,

"There will be many prestigious guests in the ceremony tonight so please don't cause any trouble, and behave yourself," said Myra's grandma and strode out of the room with her servants leaving all those luxurious dresses behind.

Myra was tensed by her behavior, it would have not bothered her if her grandma behaved normally by scolding her as she always does but the serious matter was, her grandmother used so polite vocabulary to explain everything.

Was that only because it was her birthday?

"What was that?... that was not my answer, why is my heart not at ease"

Keeping all her concerns aside, she tried all the dresses one by one, but her mind still couldn't comprehend.

What is this ceremony for?

A birthday party...?

"Why today? why does it have to be today? out of all days why this day, uhh...I don't want to be tense on my birthday"

She choose a gorgeous light blue dress and paired it with the beautiful jewelry bought by her grandma while still struggling with her thoughts,

"No it's my day today, I won't allow anyone to abolish it"

She made up her mind to be strong, to be happy on her day and wore the dress and all the accessories in a hurry and was ready to face the future waiting for her.

There was another knock on the door again,

"Come in," she announced,

"Hi, Myra" one of her aunts came in with a box in her hands.

Looking at the old shabby box in her hands, Myra couldn't help but asked,

"What is it, Aunt Jane?"

Jane moved in and with heaved a sigh

"Even I don't know, I was ordered by your grandma to deliver it, just take it and open it on yourself"

She answered annoyingly and left the box on her bed leaving the room immediately.

Myra went to the box but was hesitant to open it.

"What the...! Whatever she does, makes me feel more nervous," she sighed and opened the box. It had a small knob and that looked like an old treasure box from an ancient fantasy movie.

As the box opened, there lay a rusted chain in the box, it wasn't any shining ornament but an old chain.

It was not at all pretty, with no locket, no shine, it was nothing but an iron chain.

She felt unpleasant, that she didn't even touch it.

"What the hell is this, don't tell me, I have to wear this with this beautiful dress of mine, No way...! I would never do that...!"

She threw the box away, and it hit the table and was broken and the chain slipped down her dressing mirror. She didn't care and continued brushing her makeup.

It was already evening and the ceremony was started, she curiously looked out of her window, only to see the beautiful scenery. All the trees in her garden were decorated with colorful lights.

But unexpectedly there were many luxurious, and expensive cars standing in their parking yard giving a tingling sensation over all her guts.

"It doesn't look like a normal birthday party, is it? Is it something else? Is it my wedding...!?"

Myra was terrified to go down and wanted to run away, but will she be able to do that?

By the way was that really her wedding? What was about to happen in her life?
