Kaze frowned at Edmund’s suggestion. He did not want to leave. He had been waiting for this opportunity since he arrived, and he intended to stay until the end.

Clarice was delighted. She looked at Kaze, wondering what his answer was.

“Protecting Clarice is my duty since I am her bodyguard. It was my mistake that she got taken in the first place. I should make it up to her,” he said directly. His tone was flat and emotionless.

Edmund had expected Kaze’s answer to be stiff but when he heard the words himself, he was slightly disappointed.

If the two of them continued to stay together, they would surely develop a stronger bond, but Kaze remained cold and stiff.

Clarice was also surprised.

“So, you are not coming with me? We should leave the country. It’s the best option for us,” she said, trying to persuade him.
