That day was our marriage anniversary, Zhou Liwei and I got married seven years ago. It was an arranged marriage for him, while a love marriage for me. He was CEO of Deming business industry.

He was very handsome, and charismatic. I fell in love with him at first sight, I loved everything about him. I loved the way he walked, the way he spoke. I loved his silky black hair which slightly fell on his phoenix shaped eyes.

And the thing I loved the most about him was his eyes, which before meeting him I had seen countless times in my dreams.

 Those gentle and caring eyes I saw in the dreams were making me go crazy, and finally when I saw him, I fell for him hard. It was like I met my dream guy, I thought we were destined for each other. As if we were fated lovers…

            The only thing I earned for since that day was for those eyes like in her dreams held care for him, I earned for those eyes to smile at me only me. For those eyes to love me just like how she loved him crazily.

I dreamed of our marriage, our happy life, our children. Only for those dreams to be shattered like pieces of broken glass. On the night of our marriage, I realized all those dreams were one sided. Because he never wanted to marry me.   

In fact, he always hated our marriage, he was forced to marry me by his parents. His parents were worried about his future. My in-laws thought that I will be his perfect match. That may be, I could change him.

            I wanted him to love me cherish me, it was so silly of me to hope that. I thought that as long as we were married, he will definitely fall for me one day. I foolishly waited for that day to come.

            I was already at my wits end when I thought of a new way to get close to him. May be not married couple, but we could at least be friends? May be, it will make him accept me slowly…

            With new spirit and energy, I cooked his favourite food for him. Wore his favourite light blue coloured dress. Packed the lunch box and went to his company.   

Along the way I dreamed of our happy future once again like every time I did. If he agrees we will go for a candle light dinner ....

            That was not the first time I had taken the initiative for our future, and every time it was crushed by him.

            Still there was a teeny tiny hope that this time he will take that first step to improve our relation. I was such a nervous wreck.

Before I knew it, I was in front of his office door. I tried to make myself less nervous and more charming. Breath in breath out I repeated this mantra for five times. And chanting 'I can do it’, I opened the door slowly …,

But looking at the scene in front of my eyes I couldn’t believe my eyes, it felt like the whole world came crashing into me.

Zhou Liwei was seating on a couch while a slender girl was seating in his lap kissing him, her skirt was hiked to her thigh while his hands were inside her clothes.

 The lunch box in my hands dropped, and the food spread all over the floor. Tears streamed down my face, which blurred my eyes.

After coming to my senses, I shouted at Zhou Liwei,"What are you doing Zhou Liwei? How could you do this?".

He looked at me a sudden realization of shock crossed over his face, but soon it was replaced by an indifferent smirk mixed with impatience.

Instead of leaving her and explaining to me he said with a dark and lazy voice, " Did no one taught you to knock on the door? Do you not have any manners? Look how much my Baby is scared by you…". That was the first time I sensed softness in his cold voice. Which was directed at the girl in his lap, and not me his legal wife.

            That day the seen I saw from my eyes really opened my eyes, I understood one thing for sure that, ‘he will Love anyone but me in this life’. The last hope of my life was crushed so cruelly in front of me, that I lost every reason to live.

  Mom and Dad were already dead, I was already half dead and half alive till now. But that day I died completely, what was alive was a soulless body…

"I came here because it is our anniversary today. I made your favourite Lunch, Wore your favourite-coloured Dress. Just so that I could tell you that (sob) that I love you. (sob) I love you Zhou Liwei, I beg you please, please don't do this to me. Please don't leave me, you know very well you are the only reason I'm alive.  Please don't break me...  " (sob sob) I confessed to him with broken sobs.

" Don't show me that disgusting look as if I am cheating on you. I told you this marriage means nothing to me. And you have nothing to do with my private life. Be obedient Lin Mei Zhen and get out of here. Don't make me hate you anymore than I already do.

 Oh~ and let me tell you one more thing don’t show me your face in future. Whenever I look at you I feel disgusted, so never ever come in front of me again, or you won’t be able to face the consequences.", Zhou Liwei said with his mouth full of venom. 

The assistant in his lap turned to face me slowly, and gave a disgusting look before she said, “Darling lets continue, I’m getting impatient”

Zhou Liwei looked at her with those eyes filled with the care and love I always longed for chuckled and said, “Little cutie you are quite bold, I like it”

After that they started making out then and there in front of me, he didn’t even spare me a glance.

I couldn't tolerate it anymore so I looked at him once and for the last time and started running out of his office...

I always loved him, always cared about him, He was my whole life. But that day he broke me. I saw his hatred towards me, the disgust for me in his eyes.

I turned towards stairs and started running out of the company. I ran out of the building, but when I realized it was too late the darkness engulfed me.
