Chapter 6 - Father takes over

Elektra's pov:

I went behind some trees, shifted back to my human form and returned to the place where Alexander was waiting for me. I gave him a big smile which he returned happily. He was dressed casually like the first time I met him, although he looked a bit tired this time.

-"Where did the rogues go?" I wondered.

-"I didn't see any rogues" he replied calmly.

-"Don't you smell anything bad?" I asked again.

-"Of course I do. It was the smell that brought me here!" he explained.

-"What are you doing here anyway?" I wondered.

-"I return home" he answered coolly.

-"The conference finished three days ago" I commented making him laugh.

-"Am I being interrogated miss Alpha female?" he asked playfully.

-"No, no of course not!" I said ashamed. I am never indiscreet, but with this man I can not restrain myself. I want to know everything about him. Although he is a complete stranger to me, I can't help feeling so familiar when I am with him. I can talk to him freely without pretexts!

-"Relax! I am teasing you!" he said casually and continued" I took the opportunity to visit some old friends! I didn't intend to pass through your territory especially since I haven't got permission from your Alpha ...." he remarked.

-"Oh....I see....." I said disappointed.

-"But in the end my move turned out to be a pleasant one!" he commented smiling widely.

"Oh my Goddess how beautiful smile he has! I am dying for his smile! It's like his smile illuminating the world!

-"Why is that?" I asked him. Although I probably knew what his answer would be, I desperately wanted to hear it from his own lips!

He approached me with small steps and only stopped when we were a few centimeters away. He put his hands on my shoulders and stroked them gently. Then, after looking straight into my eyes, he whispered slowly:

-"Because I had the chance to see you again!"

Hearing his words made me blush like a schoolgirl! My body started shaking while millions of butterflies flew in my stomach. The attraction between us was undeniable, even though we weren't mates. Why did we feel this way about each other? I couldn't find a logical explanation for this no matter how deep I searched!

We stayed there for a few seconds breathing heavenly and looking at each other without saying anything. I was lost in the gray of his eyes. Those two beautiful eyes that could make me lose my mind! Although he is a very handsome man, that is not what draws me to him the most. His aura is so attractive! It has something about it that is so charming! I just can't resist it!

-"I have to leave now. I don't want to anger your father!" commented Alexander.

His words saddened me but what could I do? He was right. There was nothing important here for him. Unfortunately I wasn't his mate and he knew it! I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, but something inside me couldn't let go of the idea.

He took my hand and gave it a small peck while his eyes never left mine. His kiss made my whole body shiver. I don't know why or how but he manages to have such an impact on me!

-"Until we meet again" he said and disappeared inside the forest.

I stood frozen in my place looking at the side Alexander left and thinking about him. I was upset as I was sure it was the last time I saw him. The chances of seeing him again were slim as my pack was far enough of his. When I realized it, my heart suddenly broke into a thousand pieces.

I was devastated at the thought that I would never see him again. This man evoked feelings in me that I had never experienced before. Was I really in love with him? But how? I've only seen him twice. How did I fall in love with him so quickly? These questions flooded my mind for several minutes. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize a presence behind me. I turned and looked at the man standing before me. It was none other than Jordan.

-"What are you doing here?" he asked in a interrogative way.

-"What are you doing here? Are you following me?" I asked in an angry manner avoiding to answer his question. I'm sick of his attitude. He is so arrogant and inconsiderate. He thinks he owns the whole world!

-"Of course I'm not! The border patrol informed me that they sensed rogues at the northern border. Did you come across them?" he asked.

-"Yes, in fact I managed to chase them out of here" I replied proudly. (Although this wasn't entirely true but who cares?)

-"Why didn't you notify the patrol?"  Jordan asked incredulously.

-"I didn't have time. I was fighting with three rogues you know..." I contradicted.

-"And you managed to chase all three of them?" he asked in disbelief.

-"Do you doubt my abilities?" I asked him back.

-"Οf course not my dear...but fighting with three sounds a bit unbelievable.........." he said as he carefully approached me and continued "Have you thought about my offer?"

-"I believe I have already answered that question. I am not going to succumb to your blackmail."

-"Oh don't be such a baby! We are two adults making a deal here......."

-"I'm not making any deal with you!” I told him sternly.

-"Oh you will if you want to be the Alpha of this pack" he said sarcastically.

-"I'm going to be the Alpha of this pack no matter what. I clearly don't need your help to achieve that!" I objected.

-"We will see that!" he replied smugly, shifting into his wolf and leaving.

After a few minutes I followed behind. Once again I was furious. This man always manages to piss me off! I can't stand him anymore. I had enough of his nonsense. I'll talk to my father right away. I shifted into my wolf form and headed towards the pack house.

I reached the pack house and went up the stairs. I asked the guards if my father was busy and after they informed me that he was alone in his office I went inside. Father had his head down examining some files. I looked at him for a few seconds and cleared my throat trying to get his attention.

-"Father" I finally said.

He raised his head and looked at me with wonder giving me a small smile.

-"Elektra, is it something important? Because I have a lot of work to do..." he told me and started reviewing his files again, ignoring me.

-"Father it is about something very important. Please it won't take long!" I replied.

-"Tell me then, don't sit like that!" argued. It was obvious he was in a bad mood but I had to talk to him. This topic could not wait.

-"Father, I want you to know that your Beta behaves inappropriately lately."

-"What are you talking about?" he wondered.

-"Your Beta dared to threaten me!" I exclaimed.

-"He did what?" he said while he abruptly stood up looking at me with wide eyes.

-"Ηe gave me a deadline so he would not reveal to you what I did"

-"What did you do?" my father asked me coldly.

-"During your absence we caught a trespasser in the northern borders. We imprisoned him and then after interrogating him I decided to let him free"

-"You did what?" my father asked angrily.

-"He belonged to the Crescent Moon Pack and he was lost in our forest. He clearly wasn't  a threat to us."

-"Are you insane? Why did you do such a silly thing?" my father scolded.

-"Father, he was one of the trackers of the Crescent Moon Pack. He got lost, he wasn't dangerous for us."

-"You know the rule for trespassers!" my father shouted at me and put his hand through his hair. He was out of control.

-"I know the rule! I didn't say I agree with it!"

-"Elektra what you did is unacceptable! The future Alpha can't make mistakes like this"

-"Father the problem is your Beta and his unacceptable behavior, not me!" I contradicted.

-"You are wrong and you know it Elektra! Anyway what did this scam ask for return?"

-"He asked me to accept his son as my mate and make him the Alpha of this pack when you retire."

-"He did what? How dares he? This idiot can't be the Alpha of my pack! Jordan is way out of line! This time I won't let him off the hook!"

-"I appreciate it father. It isn't the first time Jordan breaks the rules! Ηe can't always do whatever he wants!"

-"Don't worry. He won't! All I want from you is to not involve in this again. Stay away and let me handle it! As for you, it is the last absurdity I forgive. For your own sake make sure there won't be another. I hate when people defy me" he said in a strict manner.
