Chapter 2 - White Wolf

Elektra's pov:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In  Elektra's bedroom.

I was lying in bed working on my laptop when Roxanne entered my room upset and approached my bed.

-"My child, Ι am sorry to bother you but the Alpha wants you in his office right away."

-"What does my father want now? Tell him I am busy."

-"You know that the Alpha isn't a patient man. Don't keep him waiting."

-"And I'm not a woman who is easily ordered. Besides I found something exquisite on the website!"

-"About what?" Roxanne asked.

-"The rogue Alpha! Did you know that he has already conquered more than 20 big packs?" I said excited.

-"Oh my Goddess! Elektra how many times have I told you that looking for this man is dangerous? Why are you so obsessed with him?"

-"Because he is a worthy opponent. He has beaten every Alpha so far. I want to learn his tactics so I can be prepared when I face him."

-"Why attack us? Black Shadow is one of the most powerful packs in the area, besides the fact that no one ever dared to face your father since........" Roxanne looked down and abruptly stopped talking.

-"Since when?"

-"Nothing...nothing.. important. Anyway the rogue Alpha won't be so stupid to mess with him. He knows what awaits him if he does." Roxanne explained.

-"He will. He has to do it in order to attack the other packs in the east. We are in the middle. He will have to face us eventually. You know this day wοn't be long in coming."

-"Come on my child stop the chit chat and go. Don't keep the Alpha waiting. It will infuriate him and he will lash out at everyone" she said in agony.

-"Yeah yeah.....I know. My father and his non-existent patience" I told her boredly and stood up. I gave Roxanne a kiss and headed to the office. When I reached outside the door, the guards immediately opened it up for me and I got inside.

-"What is it father? What's the emergency?" I said boredly.

-"You were half an hour late! You know I don't like waiting for anyone" my father said irritated.

-"Not even for your beautiful daughter my sweet daddy?" I told him as I have approached him and hugged him giving him a kiss on his cheek. I know that being nice to him always bends him.

-"You foxy! You always know how to appease me!" said my father smiling at me. Then he started talking while my mind already raveled elsewhere.

My father is very strict and sometimes cruel to everyone except me. Since I was a little girl he couldn't deny me anything, he always pampered me! I always wondered why he loved me so much. I was the reason why his Luna died. My mother died when she gave birth to me. He should be holding a grudge against me. But not him! He loves me unconditionally!

I know that a mate is very important thing to our kind. A mate fulfills and completes you. Without your mate you are half person and your life becomes miserable and gray. But my father did not react like this at all. He had his lovers and went on with his life even though he never remarried. It seems that my mother's death did not affect him that much. Anyway, I think it's better that way. I would not want a father who would hate me and blame me for my mother's death.

-"Elektra are you listening?" my father said in a firm way.

-"Huh? I.....I am sorry father I got distracted. What did you say?"

-"You know I won't be here for the rest of the week. I will attend the annual pack conference."

-"I know this father. Did you call me here only to tell me something I already knew?"

-"Don't rush to judgement just wet. I want you not to wonder in my absence. You will not leave the pack facilities for any reason and you won't go to the forest alone as usual."

-"Νow you over exaggerate father! What will happen to me if I go to the forest alone? Will the big bad wolf eat me? " I said laughing.

-"Elektra I am serious! You won't leave alone the pack premises for any reason!" my father told me firmly.

-"Am I a prisoner?" I said angrily.

-"No, my beautiful daughter. It is that I don't want anything bad happens to you!"

-"This is ridiculous! What might happen to me? I am one of the best warriors in the pack father!"

-"Elektra I won't say it again! You won't leave the pack premises and if you want to go for a walk you will always take the guards with you and only within the pack premises. Do you understand?"

-"But father....."

-"Am I understood? Why is it so difficult for you to comply with my wishes? It's so frustrating!"  exclaimed my father in despair. "You remind me so much of your mother" he added disappointed.

-"It's the first time you talk about my mother! How was she? Did you love her?" I asked excitedly.

-"Elektra I don't have time for nonsense. I have work to do" he said firmly and started revising some files he had on his desk ignoring me ostentatiously.

-"Ok..... father" I said disappointed and left his office.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Three days later

-"I am really bored. Three days "locked" in the house without shifting and my wolf has already gone crazy. She became restless and impatient. I have to go for a walk to calm down my nerves" I said to Roxanne.

-"Elektra are you nuts? Did you forget what the Alpha told you before he left?" Roxanne scolded.

-"My father is over exaggerating as always" I contradicted.

-"Maybe, but the Alpha is aware of the dangers out there! At least take the guards with you."

-"Relax! I can take care of myself!" I said while I was already at the door ready to leave.

-"My child please take the guards with you!" Roxanne insisted shouting from behind.

I prefered to ignore her and kept walking without turning back. I discreetly left the house, managing no one to see me and headed to the forest. When I reached the forest, I started feeling free and carefree. Our kind is inextricably linked to the forest. We can't live without it. It's in our blood. My wolf was already wagging his tail inside my head. "Relax Frosty. I'll give you the control as soon as we go deep in the forest" I reassured her. I named my wolf Frosty due to the pure white fur she has. Apart from me, Roxanne and some omega males and females have pure white fur. The rest of the pack members are usually black, brown or dark blue. When I was younger I've asked my father about it but as always he gave me no answer.

I was already in the middle of the forest when I shifted to my wolf. My white fur reflected the sun rays making me look dazzling! Frosty started running here and there in the forest happily for a while. We were quite far from the pack house when we reached a small lake at the northern borders of our pack. We drinked some water, got inside the lake and started swimming. She was happy as it was days I haven't shifted. Although I had a great time, I had a strange feeling that I was being watched. I looked around but didn't notice anything disturbing.

Maybe it was my imagination. My father and Roxane's warnings probably affected me more than I thought.

We played with the water for a while. It was a beautiful spring day. The sun was shining, birds were singing and nature looked at its best! When noon arrived we went for hunting. Although I love cooked food, I don't say no to a small tender bunny or a deer. Τoday Frosty caught a deer which we devoured it with great pleasure. After eating, we took a nap under the shade of a large oak tree. We were exhausted from all the playing and hunting. The sun has already set when I woke up. I got up quickly and headed for the pack house. "I will definitely hear it from Roxanne. She must be furious by now!" I told Frosty who agreed with me.

Although I was really late, I didn't hurry. I've decided to take it easy and enjoy my freedom as Ι was sure that Roxanne wouldn't let me wander around again.

I was pacing in the forest when I heard a strange sound from behind. I immediately froze in my spot. At this time of the day the forest is quiet. The only sound one can hear is the sound of an owl or a small squirrel looking for food. Some small animals usually hunt at night to avoid the majority of large predators. I sniffed the area around but my muzzle didn't catch any foreign smell. After making sure I was not in any danger, I started pacing again. However, I continued to be vigilant and so did Frosty. She was restless for the last hour. 

I reached the middle of the forest when suddenly a white wolf came out of the trees and stood in front of me. The wolf was large, his fur was shining under the moonlight and his aura was powerful. He didn't seem like a rogue as his eyes weren't red. Usually rogues have red eyes while he had grey. Red eyes is a sign that their wolves have complete control over them. Maybe he wasn't a rogue for too long or he was just a wolf that got lost. What is certain is that the color of his fur is very rare! This color was not prevalent around here.

He gave me a warning growl which I reciprocated. The wolf went behind some trees leaving me thinking that he may have been scared and left. But after a few minutes, a tall and very handsome man appeared in front of me. He had a beautiful face with brown hair, beautiful gray eyes and beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. His body was full of scars. It was obvious that he was a warrior.

-"Shift" he ordered and although I was not willing to do it, Ι followed like a schoolgirl. It was weird! Something inside me couldn't ignore his command. Νo one could ever order me to do anything. Not even my own father!

I went behind some trees and shifted in my human form. When I returned, I put my hands in front of my chest and sensitive area, trying to hide them as best I could as I had no clothes with me. I did not expect to shift in the middle of the forest! I was not ashamed of my nakedness, but being naked in front of a member of another pack is humiliating for a wolf.

-"Who are you?" the man asked me after looking at me upside down with lust. His gaze gave me the shivers.

-"I am Elektra and you?" I answered proudly.

-"What are you doing here?" he asked again.

-"What am I doing here? This is my pack's territory. What are you doing here?" I asked him sharply scolding him for his audacity. He was in my territory after all!

-"Which is your pack?" the man asked again ignoring my scolding.

-"The Black Shadow Pack and yours?" I answered again not able to do otherwise.

-"You don't look like an omega to me" he commented avoiding answering the question once more. In fact he hasn't answered none of my questions so far!

-"I didn't say I am" I contradicted in a cool way.

-"Yοu are a sharp tongue. This won't do you any good...." he commented.

-"Thank you but I don't remember asking  your opinion. Didn't you know you are trespassing Black Shadow's territory? Didn't you know that trespassers are severely punished in this pack?"

-"Really? I didn't notice I was in your territory" he said trying hard to look ignorant. I decided not to refute his argument even though it was obvious that he was lying. Instead, I asked again "Who are you?"

-"No one significant" he replied coolly.

-"You don't look like an omega to me." I used his own words to piss him off. We both react so  immaturely.

-"I didn't say I am" he replied using my own words which made me smile.

-" Although a smart ass, you have a beautiful smile, Elektra" he commented with a grin emphasizing my name.

-"Thank you" I said in a trembling voice. I do not know why, but this man has a strange influence on me. Calling me by my name warmed my heart. "What's wrong with me? He's a complete stranger! He can hurt you! What are you doing my girl?" my mind scolded me. The man took a few steps towards me while I stayed in my spot. He approached me slowly while I was ready to face any attack he made. When he reached fifty centimeters away from me, he stopped, took off his shirt and offered it to me, making me look like an idiot because of the defensive posture my body has taken.

-"Please wear it" he said softly.

-"Thank you..." I said puzzled. I hesitantly took it and put it on.The smell was intoxicating! That's when I felt Frosty stir in my head. Ever since I shifted to my human form, she has remained strangely quiet. The man took a few more steps, getting very close to me. Our faces were inches apart. My breathing became heavier and faster, my heart was pounding like crazy and I started sweating. I felt very uncomfortable. We stood there looking at each other for a few seconds.

-"Alexander" the man whispered.

-"What?" I asked confused.

-"My name is Alexander" he explained.

-"Oh! It is a nice name" I commented awkwardly.

-"I guess...." he replied.

-"What a coincidence! Our names are both Ancient Greek. Did you know that?" Ι asked excited. "What am I doing? I behave like a teenager in front of him! What's wrong with me?" I told myself. My wolf kept silent.

-"I might have heard something about..." he replied coolly with a smile.

-"Why are you here?" I asked him timidly. His influence was great on me. It gave me the impression that he was my Alpha! What was that?

-"I am heading to the pack conference" he answered sincerely.

-"Oh you are an Alpha or a Beta...then" I commented showing surprise although I have suspected that from the moment I met him. His aura was very powerful to ignore it.

-"I am an Alpha" he replied curtly. Oh.... the Alpha got irritated by my assumption.....

-"Of which pack?" I asked again. I do not like to be indiscreet but it's like pulling teeth from this guy! He is so laconic and mysterious!

-"Τhe Silver Dawn Pack" he replied.

-"The Silver Dawn Pack? I've never heard this pack before. Where is it located?"

-"Far from here....." he replied.

-"So you're lost! That's why you wander in our forest. You have to be very careful...The border guards are not far away. If you get caught, you will at least be in jail. You see we are not lenient with the trespassers," I informed him.

-"Oh I see.....I promise I'll take care!"

-"Will I see you again?" I asked shamelessly. What's wrong with me? I've never taken the initiative to flirt a male. What got into me?

-"I don't know" he said surprised by my question.Obviously he did not expect it.

 -"Sorry for my indiscretion, but please on your return trip, if you cross our territory again, ask my father for official permission before you do," I explained. Thank Goddess, I quickly found an excuse and I did not look like a madwoman in front of him.

-"Father? Alpha Bartholomew is your father?" he asked incredulously.

-"Yes" I replied.

-"I see.......Is there a case for him to give permission to me?"

-"I really don't know. He doesn't usually let other pack members pass our borders but my suggestion to you is to try!" I said with a smile.

-"Till we meet again" he said and gave a small kiss to my hand which made my body tremble. Then he shifted back to his wolf and disappeared into the forest. A feeling of abandonment overwhelmed me. Why do I feel that way? I'm sure this man isn't my mate. If he was, I would feel it right? My wolf would have recognized him, right? Even if my wolf did not recognize him, Alexander would have said something. 

On second thoughts what was he doing here? Where was his Beta or his guards? Why did he travel alone and in the form of a wolf? Something does not fit. And why was I so obedient to him? I'm Alpha's daughter for goodness sake! How could he order me around so easily? No Alpha has done it before ...

As I was walking I heard the border patrol coming from afar. My heart started pounding. I felt scared ..... I did not want the patrol to catch him. I really hope they won't find him...
