Chapter 16 Seed has been sown
Sarah's 24th birthday had just passed. Her menstrual cycle is a week late. She buys a pregnancy test on her way home, Jacob was working till eight o clock tonight. She couldn't wait but she still had much to do. She fed Alex, played with him, they watched Barney and by 7 o clock Alex was asleep. She picked him up off the couch and put him in his crib. She went to the the lounge and put away the toys, cleared the dishes and went to the kitchen. She popped 2 pieces of chicken in the oven for ther supper and made a green salad on the side. Washed up the dishes swept, mopped and sat down on the couch.
Jacob was home.
She took the pregnancy test to the bathroom together with her clothes to take a shower while she waited for results.
She had a quick shower and changed into her favorite pink pajamas. She picked up the test strip, on the tab there was a deep pink line and next to that was a faint pink line.
Her heart stopped, was she pregnant or not

Sarah always thought when ever things were going right, something would always go wrong.It was during her first trimester that Jacob had injured his lower back and was in excruciating pain. Jacob was still asleep when Sarah visited him. It was still too early. He was always a late riser. She looked at his arms. Sarah went back to her ward. He bed was dressed with fresh sheets. Her mother sent her a set of clean clothes. After one week of bed rest Sarah was discharged but she was put off from work for another two weeks. She had made it through this challenged times. Her baby was okay, but she needed to still rest to keep him or her alive.Jacob was also discharged on the same day. His hands were still wrapped in bandages and he was given a date for the next week. Sarah already knew the procedure for next week by reading his file. They left the hospital together after fetching their medication from the pharmacy. Sarah was reaching that deep dark place in her mind. With each passing day her depression was weighing her down. Her moods were a mess, she snapped at any moment. She pitied herself. It was December. Christmas was in a few weeks time. This was the last thing on Sarah's mind. How could she even afford Christmas. The land lady just gave them an increase of rent. She had her car payment due. Food to see to and a new baby.
