HANNAH'S POV

Today was Olivia's engagement party, it was currently 7am and I was in dire need to get a present. I tried to recall what Olivia used to like but it was all fruitless. On top of that my uncle request for my presence to have breakfast with the family. After that stunt I pulled I wasn't allowed to eat with the Mendovas. It was the best punishment I've ever received and sadly all good things must come to an end.

I heard footsteps match with mine, I did not bother to look back the only person I could think of wasn't worth it to take a look at. I immediately hasten my steps. "That hurts my pride Anna." I froze on my steps immediately, I turned to look at Christian who was dressed in a dress shirt tucked under his black pants. "Tell it to someone who actually cares." I hissed turning my back at him, his grip found its way to my shoulders. "Well you better start caring since you're going to be my wife." I almost went mad in am instant, I tried to stay calm as possible.

"That can't be since I already picked a candidate from the recommendation. It wasn't you." My morbid tone confuses Christian. "What do you mean you selected a candidate ? Who did you pick ?" Christian asked I slapped his grip on me and turned without answering him. Now he was more curious that will teach the him not to get cocky.

We were almost at the dining table until Christian gripped a hold of my shoulders and started yelling at my face. "I purposely gave dad those recommendations so you'd have no choice but to pick me. Who did you pick Hannah ? " The first sentence he mustered stuck to my mind. He was the one that picked the recommendations ? Not uncle ?

"Get off me." I muttered but Christian was too busy yelling at my face. "Get off me." I pushed him back, he had this murderous look in his eyes.

"So you'd pick a murderer over me ?" Christian asked unaware that he almost aimed to choke me if I hadn't pushed him back. "The devil you don't know is better than the devil you know." I smirked at Christian who furrowed his brow out of annoyance.

"It means I'm not going to marry you." I hissed hastening my steps to the dinning room.

The only people in the dinning room were Lilly and James. Uncle wasn't there neither was Aunt there.

The food was already served. Lilly was going through her phone so was James. I made my way to the dinning room and sat down, no one was eating.

Christian sat down too and then it started.

"You must have left your brain in detention. Aren't you supposed to pay your respects to the three of us ?" Lilly started putting her phone away.

I ignored her mindlessly scrolling through my phone.

"Are you ignoring me ?" She yelled.

Times like this she expected a comeback but through my time in detention I learned that silence is the best answer to a fool so I didn't give her that satisfaction. "She's ignoring me." Lilly muttered trying to get Christian and James to side her.

"Hannah talk to your sister." James advised I put my phone away glaring at James. "What did you say ?" I asked.

"I said.. talk to your sis.."

"Lilly is not my sister. A sister doesn't press hot iron against her sister's skin." I yelled recalling that painful moment. "It was just iron let it go." Lilly said in a cocky manner.

I picked up a table knife and tossed it at Lilly, I missed purposely. "Did you just try to shoot me ?" Lilly yelled enraged.

"I missed." I said. "You could have injured me." She claimed. "Well I didn't, just let it go." I arched a brow.

"I won't miss this time." I said bringing out a dagger from the rear end of my skirt.

"Hannah stand down." I heard my uncle's voice.

Argh I didn't even get to slit Lilly's face.

"Yes uncle." I bowed hiding the dagger and getting up to draw a seat for him. "Did you sleep well uncle ?" I asked hoping he would let me go for attempting to murder Lilly.

"You will go shopping with Lilly, that's your punishment." My uncle said and honestly I prefer a lashing to this. "Thank you Uncle." I said taking my seat.

From the looks of it I might be a slave to Lilly, she wouldn't let this opportunity slip through her fingers.

"Dad where's mom ?" James asked the question that was on my mind. I was eating the now cold porridge, I couldn't complain because everyone seemed to be fine with it.

"She won't be joining us for breakfast, she's under retention." We all stopped spooning our cold porridge, I resumed watching the trio wear a worried look. They couldn't say anything about it, they didn't know what their mother has committed.

I wasn't really interested, it was amusing to see them disturbed.

"When will she be out of retention ?" James asked.

Uncle didn't want to talk more on it, he slowly ate his cold porridge without a reaction.

"What did she do ?" Christian asked in a shaky tone like he wasn't supposed to talk to his father like that. This is supposed to be the next heir to the Mendova's godfather title, tsk.

"It shouldn't concern you. It's quite dishonorable if you consider what she did." Uncle said really not interested in going further. What did aunt do to get retention ?

My phone vibrated, I got a message from Kerry that she was going to pick me up for shopping, I immediately told her I can't because I had to shop with Lilly.

"I'll take full responsibility for whatever she committed. It's my duty as her first son." Christian blabbed on like some hero.

"You can't take responsibility for her." Uncle said and again my phone vibrated. "Why not ?" James asked.

"The reason your mother is under retention is because she tried to commit suicide." The room was quiet and the look on everyone's face was like it was casted on some bad horror movie.

"That's, that's not true." Christian uttered.

"It is, she tried to drink poison. Right now she's on retention because I'm trying to keep her from doing something reckless." Uncle said wearing an angry look. James immediately got up probably to go see his mother. Along the way we heard a scream loud enough for us to understand.

A maid runs in to the dinning room with tears streaming down her cheek.

"Lord Mendova, Mistress Mendova is dead."

If you're lucky you could be my submissive as well." Kerry held her disgust down her throat."Well if I'm lucky you could loose your mind and snap my neck before then." Sinclair didn't mind her, he turned his back at her. "Hannah and Zachary are coming you better try your best to convince them you have to marry me or…""Yeah, yeah, or you'll tell the world that I was the one who murdered Liam Drew. Zachary smiled enjoying how oblivious she was to his question. He stopped the movement below their torso, curving a hand over her waist while the other hand helped hold her chin. "How was your day ?" Hannah didn't find his interruption funny at all, she didn't just encounter a death scare for this. "Don't do this Zachary." She almost whined trying to connect their lips once again but Zachary would not allow it."Not until you answer my question." He pressured."Christian finally shows up out of nowhere and planted a bomb on Olivia and Flora but I killed him before he could set the bomb off." • HATRED MARRIAGE   Fruitless

ZACHARY'S POVWhen I recommend for Claire to drop by sometime I didn't say she had to come by my house. I was busy or should I better rephrase that I was being drowned by work until she came over using my statement as armour. She waltz in without an invitation proceeds to raise the bridge of her nose. "You seem to have your work cut out for you." The irritation she had earlier was gone, it was her usual fake cheery self."Again, I'll repeat myself, get out of my house." I raised my voice a bit since the last two times were uneffective. "But you were the one who invited me Zachary, don't you think you should at least pretend you're happy to see me ?" "But I'm not happy to see you." I clicked my tongue at her. She pressed the back of her palm over her forehead. "Oh goodness Zachary can't you get a joke." She dropped her palm when she realized I'm dead serious about her absence."Why do you hate me so much ?" I don't know how she could so oblivious to the reason why so I just ignored h

Kerry looked at the documents Sinclair placed on the table for her. It was the actual will her father left behind. She didn't know how Sinclair got it but she wasn't surprised. "What is this ?" Kerry opened her mouth a little gasping in shock. "What do you mean by that ?" Sinclair's entire right arm cleared the table."You tricked me, I'm supposed to be the rightful heir to the widoeth's property, you made me look like a fool in front of everyone when your father.." Kerry put a hand up as pissed as Sinclair was, he paused."Look Asher, you're fucking loaded you don't need my father's property more than I do. I'm his fucking offspring and the original will did say it all belonged to me, the only difference is I'm not in a miserable position like my mother." Her hands were pressed on the table, she slowly lifts up her torso, pressing her back to the comfort of her seat."Taking what's rightfully mine isn't a trick, besides this documents could be a farce since you can't back down from l
