Thalassa's POV
FUCKING SIX LONG HOURS!!!
It's been six hours of practice at the rink and I couldn't be more exhausted. My feet ache from the canvas I had strapped on all day. My palms are stiff from the ice hockey stick I had clutched tightly. But then, it doesn't matter because ice hockey is everything to me and even if I can't play in public—I enjoyed playing in private.
Tomorrow, the Silverhart College Women Ice hockey team are traveling out of the pack for a pre-season and I'm helping the team to train.
A smile curled up my lips as I stared at the anniversary gifts and red velvet cake, I had gotten for my husband, Lucien Cross—the Beta of the Silverhart Pack. Three years of marriage and it's still seemed like yesterday; the feeling of being in love and loved is still as amazing as ever. I could still remember when he proposed to me on my nineteenth birthday after a year that we discovered that we were mates. I was still in the first year of college and now… in my finals, I had never regretted it for a day.
In my hands, my phone beeped, flashing Sierra—my Coach and best friend. I sighed in frustration because I could already sense the reason why she was calling. I hesitated but eventually answered the call; she wasn't someone I could ignore.
“Hello, Sierra.“
“Lassa… I'm asking you again, please go with us to this pre-season. Having the Queen of ice—that was my nickname because I'm a prodigy on the ice—playing alongside with us would boost the team's confident.“
I pinched the bridge between my nose. “Sierra, I can't. My answers remain the same. I think I have done the most important part which is prepping the team up for the game.“
“I know, but—”
“There are no buts, Sierra,” I cut in sharply. “I wish the team success. Enjoy the rest of your evening.“ I ended the call before she could say more.
My chest tightened. I desperately wanted to play but I couldn't. I breathed in and out, shove the thoughts out of my mind and focused on how the evening would go in a romantic and celebratory mood because why not… it's our anniversary!
Minutes later, the driver pulled into the mansion and bowed. “We are here, my Lady,” he announced.
“Thanks Abel.“
I reached for the cake and gifts bags, stepped out of the car and started walking towards the door.
“Good evening, my lady,” the maids and guards echoed.
I waved at them with a tired smile.
“Let me help you, my Lady,” Amanda—my personal maid said, offering to carry to cake and gifts.
“Don't worry, it's for my husband and I don't want it tampered with.“
Amanda managed a tight smile that made me feel uneasy but not now… I'm too tired to be bothered.
Inside the grand living room, I dropped the cake and gifts on the dinning. Then turned towards the stairs. “Babe,” I called excitedly. “Babe. Where are you?“
No response; just cold suffocating silence.
Then I started walking towards our room and in the hallway, I heard it. The faint but unmistakable sound of moans.
I froze. My chest slammed against my ribs cage. My body trembled violently. I shoke my head, trying to deny whatever I heard—whatever scene was unfolding behind that door. No… no, this can't be happening.
I glanced around—hoping that maybe—just maybe, I entered the wrong mansion but the ornate doors and the oil painted wolves on the wall with dripping jaw proved to me that I was in the right place.
At first, I thought of turning back… but then, the desire to know the truth pushed me forward. The door was left ajar and when I dared peeped… I saw him.
My husband of three years was naked and relaxed back on the couch, head thrown up and his hands were fisted into a woman's hair. She was kneeling in front of him and had his cock in her mouth.
Cock in her mouth?
How?
Why?
I had never seen something like this before in my entire life.
My vision blurred with tears. My leg buckled but I quickly held onto the doorknob to steady myself.
“Oh, fuck,” he growled out in pleasure. “You take me so well. That my boring wife can never be compared to you.“
The lady raised her head and my hand flew to my mouth to muffle the screams threatening to spill out.
Talia.
My elder sister.
She smiled through the cum and saliva dripping down her jaw. “You think I'm better than her?“
“Of course, baby,” Lucien snarled. “Had it been I knew you were this amazing… I would have married you instead.“
The words slit through my chest.
I couldn't take it anymore, so I burst into the room. “You bastards!“ I cursed, rage burning through my veins. “How could you both do this to me?!“
Lucien jumped to his feet, shoving Talia away in the process. His expression was filled with fear and regrets. “It's not what you think, Thalassa.“
“So what is it?“ I snapped back. “Is there any explanation to the fact that you're fucking my sister in our matrimonial room and on our anniversary?!“
“Well… I was thinking that—” he stammered.
Talia lips curled into a menacing smile as she licked the cum on her lips as if she had just tasted the most delicious juice ever. She stood up and placed a hand on Lucien's shoulders. “Don't you think it's high time we let her know about us?“
And that was it.
The fear and regrets in Lucien's eyes disappeared quickly. His hands wrapped around Talia's waist possessively. “I think it's high time, baby. It's difficult to keep hiding.“ Then he faced me with a cold expression. “Talia and I have been together for six months now and she is carrying my baby.“
The words roared in my ears with an intensity that seemed like it would rip my eardrums apart. My lips trembled. This wasn't the first time? Six months…. those impromptu travels to attend to pack matters, those late nights calls and the unfamiliar perfume in his shirts—were all evidence of when he broke our vows… our bonds.
But how come I never felt anything through the mate bond?
And even now… my wolf is just silent as if she can't even see her mate's betrayal.
“You can't— be—serious! She can't be pregnant, right?!“
“Of course… I am,” Talia purred, her voice dripping with mockery. She rubbed her still flat belly. “I'm fertile… unlike somebody.“
In the past three years of our marriage, I have never been pregnant and Talia shouldn't be pregnant for Lucien either. Or could I have been wrong?
Lucien has never complained about our childlessness. Most times, he'd be the one to protect me from his family and pack members who think I purposely didn't want to get pregnant because of my studies and hockey.
Tears ran down my cheeks. “Why would you do this to me?“ I asked, my voice trembling with thick sadness. “You loved me so much, right? You proposed to me because you couldn't wait to spend forever with me even though people said we were too young to get married. You promised to love and protect me forever. I did everything—everything for you, Lucien. I gave up my career for you. I dimmed my light, just so you could shine on as my mate and husband… and is this how you repay me back?“
Lucien smirked. “You did it because you were stupidly in love with me, did I ever force you to?“
Stupidly in love?
My heart clenched so painfully that it was so difficult to breathe.
“I thought you love me too… so what changed?“ I choked out.
“Hmmmm… of course I did,” he said casually like he was just discussing pack matters. “But you've becoming boring and I needed a pup. Talia gives me everything I need. Wild sex and she is pregnant—something you failed to do in three years, she did in six months of us being together. Maybe you can learn from her.“
Was that how fast feelings changed overnight?
“And you Talia… why would you betray the siblings bond between us?“
The taxi finally came to a stop, and I quickly leaned forward to look outside.“This is the address,” the driver said.My eyes lifted slowly… and the moment I saw the place in front of me, I froze for a second.A mansion. But not Kaeren’s.My brows furrowed slightly as I stared at it, my heart still racing from everything that had happened. This wasn’t where Kaeren lived. His mansion was bigger… colder… more powerful in presence. This one was different.Still large, still expensive, still beautiful—but something about it felt… off.Why is he here?I swallowed. Then I shook my head quickly. What am I even thinking?Of course, Kael must have brought him here for treatment. That made sense. There was no time to take him all the way back to his own place if he was badly injured.Yes… that had to be it.I paid the taxi driver quickly and stepped out of the car, my legs feeling slightly weak but still moving. The large gates in front of me stood tall, but before I could even get close, the
Wait… this voice…It sounded like Kael.My brows pulled together in confusion, my heart already starting to race again. That didn’t make any sense. Why would Kael be the one answering Kaeren’s phone?Slowly, I pulled the phone away from my ear and stared at the screen, my eyes scanning the caller ID like maybe I had made a mistake. But no.It was clearly Kaeren’s number. My chest tightened. What in the world is going on?I quickly brought the phone back to my ear, panic rising in my throat. “What’s going on? Why are you with Kaeren’s phone?” I asked, my voice coming out faster than I intended. My heart was beating harder now, each thump loud and uneasy.None of this made sense. Why would Kael have his phone? Why didn’t Kaeren answer himself? Why did this suddenly feel so wrong?“Calm down, Thalassa,” Kael’s voice came through, steady… too steady. “You see, Kaeren is actually in trouble.”My breath hitched. For a second, I forgot how to breathe.“In trouble…?” I whispered, my voice bar
Thalassa’s POVI lay still on my bed, staring up at the ceiling as if it would somehow give me answers. My heart wouldn’t calm down. It kept pounding loudly in my chest, like it was trying to expose me. Every beat echoed the same thing over and over again—the words I had seen in Cynthia’s book. They wouldn’t leave my mind.No matter how hard I tried to think of something else, they stayed there, haunting me, repeating themselves like a warning I couldn’t ignore.Should I tell someone? The thought slipped in again, louder this time. My fingers curled into the sheets as I swallowed hard. But no… I can’t.I shut my eyes tightly, shaking my head. I couldn’t betray her. Cynthia might be many things—annoying, loud, unpredictable—but she was still… her. And something in me refused to be the one who exposed her.“I can’t…” I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible. The room suddenly felt too small, too suffocating. I pushed myself up from the bed and walked toward the window, my steps sl
Rebecca’s POV (continued)I leaned back on the bench and crossed my arms as I thought about everything Amelia had just said. She was right.Thalassa couldn’t have loved Lucian. If she truly loved him, she would not have moved on so quickly. She would have stayed. She would have fought for him. She would have at least looked heartbroken. But instead, she walked away like it meant nothing. And now she was already with Karen.Just thinking about it made my chest burn with anger again.“Girl, we just need to plan how to snatch Karen from her,” I said firmly.Amelia looked at me and nodded slowly.“She doesn’t even deserve him,” I continued. “She doesn’t even have the qualifications to become a Luna.”I lifted my chin slightly.“I am the one who fits that position,” I said confidently. “Not her.”In my mind, it was obvious.I knew how to behave in a palace. I knew how to talk to powerful people. I knew how to present myself properly. I had spent years learning how to fit into places like t
Rebecca’s POVI slammed my foot angrily against the floor. The sound echoed across the quiet garden, but I didn’t care. My chest was burning with frustration.“My sister is such an idiot,” I muttered under my breath. “I hate her so much.”I crossed my arms tightly and stared at the grass in front of me. Everything inside me felt messy and angry.I honestly thought my plan would work.It always worked before.Every time I blackmailed her or threatened her emotionally, she would give in. She was always soft, always weak, always trying to keep the peace between us.But this time… it didn’t work.Instead of falling for it like usual, she became wise.Wise and stubborn.“I told you it wasn’t going to work on her,” Amelia said calmly. She was sitting beside me on the garden bench, looking completely relaxed. She lifted her hand and examined her well-polished nails as if our conversation wasn’t even serious.“She’s different now,” Amelia continued. “She’s wiser, and she’s more open now. She
My heart was still beating fast even though I tried my best to act calm.Inside my head, my thoughts were running everywhere. Why was she pretending?Or maybe… she wasn’t pretending at all.Maybe Cynthia truly didn’t understand what she was.The words in her diary sounded confused. They didn’t look like the words of someone who fully understood their own nature. It sounded more like someone who was searching for answers.Someone who was scared. But another part of me still couldn’t relax. What if she was pretending? What if she knew exactly what she was and was only hiding it from everyone?I quietly watched her as she moved around the room casually, dropping her bag on the chair like she always did.She looked normal.Too normal. If I hadn’t read that diary a few minutes ago, I would never have suspected anything. But now everything felt different.Creatures like her were rare.Very rare.I remembered the stories from the past. Long before our time, creatures like that were hunted an
I walked past the cold hallway, my footsteps echoing softly against the stone floor. The walls were carved with strange ancient symbols—marks of power, authority, and judgment. Normally, I would admire them, but today they only made my chest tighten. I felt uneasy, like the walls themselves were wa
Wait… he looked familiar. The thought hit me suddenly, sharp and confusing. I narrowed my eyes, my wolf instincts screaming at me to look closer, to remember. There was something about him—the way he stood, the power in his presence, those red eyes. I knew I had seen him before. Before I could move
“Meaning?” the Alpha asked, his voice low and dangerous.Every single eye in the courtroom locked onto me. I could feel their stares burning holes into my skin. My throat suddenly felt tight, like something was stuck there. I swallowed hard, struggling to breathe properly.“I mean…” my voice came o
“What was she thinking?” the woman shouted loudly, her voice sharp and full of anger. “Playing against Kael and Kaeren? How could she just decide she would win them when she hasn’t played in years? This is your fault, Sierra!”Her words felt like stones being thrown at my chest. Before I could even
