CHAPTER 9

ESMERAY

Miriam had wished me good luck as I entered the warriors' chambers to see my mate. I wasn't dressed formally or wearing my princess crown, and to top it off, I had a hoodie on to conceal my identity. However, I sensed alpha gazes following me as I walked through.

I was certain they had already caught the scent of a female and it piqued their interest, as usually only she-wolves who had been intimate with them came and went as they pleased.

They must have assumed I was the she-wolf assigned to Caesar for his pleasure as I approached his tent.

For some reason, my heart started racing faster than usual as I stood in front of his tent. I had butterflies in my stomach and clenched my fist, summoning the courage to enter.

When I stepped inside, my gaze landed on him as he lit a candle. Thankfully, he was wearing something underneath this time, or my racing heartbeat would have overwhelmed me.
